The craziest part about stacked fields like these is that people in the back are still going at blistering speeds.

When Lopez Lomong was in Highschool he would race against the kid who set like every distance record for my highschool, they both were crazy fast!

That was a very exciting race. Congratulations to winner after being passed down the stretch (on the final bend) to retake on the line. Crazy determination.

I love that after leading the race and then falling to 4th place, he didn't give up and fade away! Instead, he started picking off people one at a time, until he WON the race...in the end. WOW GREAT race for him and great race to watch. Determination and follow through.

It's so weird. True looks like one of the bigger runners on the track. In post race interview you can see how slight he is.
@axelarroyo32864 жыл бұрын
Ben True is around 6 feet tall and 165 pounds. Slight for an average american but for a distance runner he is huge. For comparisons sake Rupp is a couple inches shorter and 30 pounds lighter, and Ryan Hall was also 5'10" and raced at 135 or even lighter when he was racing poorly. Most of the Kenyans and ethiopians are around 5'5" to 5'8" and weighing around 120-135 at the most (K.Bekele is 5'5",123 and appears much stronger/heavier than you'd expect). The only other distance guys I can recall off the top of my head with a similar build/times or success were Solinsky and Rod Dixon. Snell was very built as well (5'10", 175!)but he was strictly middle distance where extra power can mitigate the weight somewhat.
@martinirving38244 жыл бұрын
@@axelarroyo3286, I'm a former runner, I'm around 6 ft (185 cms) and 155 lbs (70.5 kilos). True looks slighter than me, I do believe. I'm having trouble believing he's 165? Really? Yeah, he looks huge compared to other runners. There is no doubt about that.
