Ik everybody keeps calling his techniques ordinary sword attacks. And I felt like that too. But frfr. None of these new generation characters have actually had any major threats to give them the kinda boost they'd need to put them at a level of anything beyond a Chunin exam graduate. Those moves would have been animated different and looked dope in Naruto in it's first couple of chapters. We are seeing characters fight eachother on a basic level and fighting enemies that are NOT just ordinary ninja. Cuz that's all they are in Naruto. Ninja. The only thing is certain characters began to transcend that idea in Shippuden. Now in Boruto the changing of times has resulted in ninja that could theoretically get shot by a gun. Fighting enemies that aren't even human. Or botched forbidden experiment subjects. Or ancient curse victims. Something major will happen in Boruto that will force the characters to adapt to the changing world around them while still upholding the values they grew up on, set from the beginning of their world. Watch it again with that idea in mind and it kinda gets better the more you watch it. The guy falls for the technique. He just didnt have to bother to dodge it.
