Itachi never had the Rinne-Sharingan, therefore cannot cast that Genjutsu. and aside from that, as strong as Itachi is, he can still get electrocuted.

You know, I feel like genin have the most potential than anyone in the show. For example, lee, or neji. Neji died, but he could’ve even made the 1,024 palms if he stayed alive I’m sure. And lee almost beat gaara, a jinchuriki with a kekkei genkai. A very gifted fellow. Although lee might not be as strong as sasuke or naruto, but that guy did have a lot of potential with the Drunken Fist AND capable of opening 5 gates in the preliminaries of the chunin exams. Truly an admirable fellow.
