People, today, we will show you how people live in Pakistan. We will go to the tribal areas that are out of reach of the official government. The official laws of Pakistan don’t work here. It harbors a marketplace where you can buy anything normally never sold at any other regular market of the world… although at a first glance it looks pretty regular too.
We spot some creepy hearse vans at the entrance, then see a number of guys selling veggies off their trucks. All seems pretty ordinary until, behind the peas, cucumbers and old scales, we see a wall with a banner.
As soon as we entered the market we were followed and five minutes later, we were stopped by two big guys in black.
Today, we have with us Alex Pototsky, a friend of mine and a fantastic reporter who’s been all over the world.
This is Lyadov and The people project from the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

I was there in 1990 and tried out a few of the weapons there as for it being dangerous? We got caught up in the middle of a firefight between two tribes, bullets flying all over the shop and then someone decided to throw some mortar rounds into the mix. I visited the area in 1980. Border guards told me that I entered the tribal area on my own risk. You have to be sensible and polite. I took a lot of pictures and even rented a Kalashnikov. Two guys followed me out in a ravine where I could test it. Interesting to me since I was trained as an interrogator of russian POW in the Swedish army in the sixties. We never got to try soviet weapons. Nowadays recruits do.

That moment VICE is in the midst of ceasing to exist because of Bankruptcy and corruption within the company, lol... Shit. I miss their good old days. When they had world-changing and view-changing perspectives into third world countries we don't normally see or hear about. We need more people to keep attention on things going bad in the world, like Israel's open-air concentration camp of 1.5 milllion Palestinian children. Zionism is not the same as Judaism. It's drastically different. To the point Israel literally oppresses and suppresses traditional orthodox jews inside of Israel and beats them or assaults them on a daily basis. Zionism is not Judaism. Zionism itself is nothing but believing in the existence of Israel. That's it.

For the viewers let me Explain the origin of these family driven amo workshops.. These workshops started during British occupation and the arms manufacturing started to counter the advanced armed forces of British... That's why this area never came under British rule... After Pakistan got independence the area joined with Pakistan by these people on condition to remain in status quo... These manufacturer are working since generations and they are best artisan to make any arm dito copy and best of its kind the only thing matters how much you are willing to pay it's price. For reasonable price you will get a best piece and if you only want a showpiece for some amount it is also offered.

I have a A class copy which can only replace big parts with original like barrel and slide and magazine, however small parts wouldn't fit. Thing is all these people are acting friendly on camera but as soon as there is a tiny bit of dispute and someone looses his cool guns come out and damage is far more excessive compared to a stabbing or simple brawl. This is common all over Pakistan, People say that our KPK province has the most guns but they forget to mention that most of the customers are outside of KPK, the entire country is littered with guns, a lot unregistered.

@snowflakemelter1172 it doesn't solve anything in the UK stabbings and assaults are RAMPANT mentally ill people will always find a way . If everyone owns a gun crime goes down there was a very telling thing that happened in my state Kennesaw georgia passed an ordinance because of a case of record home invasions Kennesaw is noted for its unique firearms legislation, passed in response to a handgun ban in Morton Grove, Illinois. In 1982 the city passed an ordinance [Sec 34-21]:[24] (a) In order to provide for the emergency management of the city, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefore. (b) Exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who suffer a physical or mental disability which would prohibit them from using such a firearm. Further exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who are paupers or who conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine, or persons convicted of a felony. Guess what happened ...... home invasions became almost completely non existent see when a criminal is 90% certain you have a gun in your home they're pretty fuckin likely to go somewhere else and notice in the ordinance it expressly says unless they are mentally unstable literally zero bad things have happened from that ordinance only reduction in home invasions

I’m from the one of 7 families (Blood Relatives) to whom this all market property belongs. It’s not like the way he represented. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 Here you can buy every kind of guns for every purpose as it’s not a controlled market but via secret way like people buy from black markets in Europe. Our whole town is surrounded by military and security units and it’s inaccessible for the ones they don’t like. You can literally see a foreigner visiting the market multiple times in week. Also it’s most safest open wall territory for businesses and their safety is guaranteed by our family of 7 Hujras (Local Assembly for discussing social issues ). The rule is simple no stealing no kidnapping no killing. Also if someone buy guns for crime then why is Pakistani security forces not catching him on the way. Actually the way he represented these areas is a Pakistani Psyche. If actually these areas were truly dangerous and the people were criminals then why would Pakistan built a national highway through it. On which thousand of Pakistani and foreigners travel in every part of the day and night.

I can show you guy’s everything via any social platform. The crime rate, kidnappings and other social problems. I confess one thing, people here became so violent for each other as they live in large family of hundreds and fighting each other over coal mine’s ownership or land disputes. But that is also less to see and also it is normal in all Pakistan. By fighting I don’t mean they kill each other rather shoots at each other hidings and then a Qoumi Lashkar comes and solve their dispute. Sometimes it gets violent but I can guarantee you the crime is less than of a single police station of another place of Pakistan. Also here you cannot buy drugs via any means unless you know a local because the locals of this town called Adam Khel Afridi are considered nobles among other communities and they have reach toward everything he wants because our ancestors fought British and after formation of Pakistani government we were allocated the ownership of the territory.

I deeply appreciate your translation of the others speaking. Too many channels simply did broken English direct translations and not only is it annoying to follow but it’s a bad representation of how others speak. It actually makes it better when a proper translation shows that they’re speaking a broken version or different dialect of their own language so we are immersed

I’m so impressed by the Pashtun gunmakers skills. I remember SOF magazine made it in there years ago and did an article on the gunmakers. It’s interesting that crime is low to non existent there with an armed population. One sure couldn’t carry 1 million dollars around here in the US. If it were legal, I’d love to buy one of their products.

I have been there, I think it is Landi Kotal where we saw copies of British rifles being manufactured. My father was a British engineer in Pakistan. Driving from our home in Lahore, via Peshawar, we travelled up the Khyber Pass in our car with an armed escort in a Land Rover. We went to the Afghanistan border, we met the chief of police there but the border was closed. The British army coats of arms on the rock side in the Pass I think were destroyed by the Taliban. Not a safe holiday destination, I wish you well with your travels.

In the Philippines there is a hand made guns industry. They externally look good and most of them are dependable. The problem with them is they are made of scrap metal. Some of the steel they use is good and others not so mutch. The locals call them maybe guns, maybe it'll shoot, maybe it won't, maybe it'll just blow up.

Being a pashtun from Peshawar and a photographer as well. I've personally visited most of these areas and this video is not how it is supposed to be portrayed. Being a photographer, we got an eye better than normal people. Interacting with everyone and socializing with everyone. But this video isn't how it was supposed to be. A very wrong portray of the whole system. There are alot of other foreigners who made videos about it and that were all somewhat near the reality. This was my first video which was really opposite to what the reality is.

I disagree with the comment that these guns can't match the original manufacturer. Every single part on these guns is hand made. Perfect finish and tolerances. Most American or European gun manufacturers use mass machinery to produce guns. There are huge tolerance differences between 2 guns. With these guns, they're probably closer to German arms around WW2 very precise. I bet a lot of them are better than off the shelf guns.

Another reason to break rounds down and reload in war zones is tainted ammo. Sometimes a small portion of rounds are spiked with fun things like H.E. and if you get one it is a catastrophic failure to your pew-pew and may cause not trivial injury to the eyes and hands. I don't know if you'd see it and discard it or you can't see it and just have to dilute it into a lot of powder till it is inconsequential. You don't really want to be taking from other calibers either, the burn rates can differ substantially. Peak pressure stuff.

Fierarms enthusiasts, manufacturers, and smiths are some of the nicest, most normal, and safest people you will meet regardless of country.
