I think the fully finished one would be better as you'd have less work to make it accurate than a full resto, change the interior color and add the correct accessories and she'd be cherry

that junk one would cost more than the good one and it would take 3-5 years to restore, anything under 20 grand for the good one makes it cheaper than the junk one even if the junk one is free

What I would suggest is buy the ready made car and paint / dye the interior if it bothers you that bad. I personally would have never know. I’d also buy the junkyard car and chop the top. I’d only get it running just enough to lot drive, use it for show grounds use only. Quick paint and decal, no light bar.

I'd go with the chopped roof option, just because the truck and trailer are beautiful the trans-am is bound to be equally as gorgeous so doing the wrecked sheriffs car roof chop door in the rear seats would be an injection of fun and humour.

Like you said, you gotta have fun! I’d say with the amount of projects on the go, but the one that’s ready to go and way down the road, if you run out of content, then buy that stuff car in the bush and make a shuttle car. As a long time, faithful subscriber, here’s my opinion. Drop a special merch drive for the Justice purchase and I’d drop a few bucks to support that to see you having fun and making awesome content with the truck/trailer, justice and soon to be finished blocker.

If you go with the ready-made car, it would be easy enough to make it road legal. Get a canvas shop to make covers for the lights out of truck tarp material or something similar so they are covered for road use but easily removable. As for the sheriff's decals, have them made up on magnetic material so they can also be taken off for road use and reinstalled for shows.

Get both mark. We know you want it, you know you want it, your wife knows you want it. If you cant affort both, get the good "finished" one. It will be much less of a hassle and i bet if you put black covers over the lights, and "out of service" sign in the back window and maybe a magnatic cover for the stars youd be fine driving it around.

I'd agree with most comments on buying the fully running Lemans. The junker looks nice but the frame has been sitting in dirt for 10 years and it probably looks like swiss cheese. When I built your model of the truck and car, I aslo looked for the Lemans. There is no model of it but i did find a resin body. Still a lot more to source. Go with the runner Mark! Get the finished one, and make the needed changes. The no roof version would be fun, but that would soon wear off and you'd be stuck with a useless wreck that could never be driven on the road. The finished version could be driven and enjoyed. As far as road use, I am sure a cover for the lights, and a simple blank magnetic cover for the doors would suffice.

As a person that has restored more than a dozen pre-1972 vehicles, you are far and away better off going with the finished Tempest. You’ll only need to find a blue dash, since most reputable interior shops could create the vinyl seat upholstery fairly easy. The panel plastic can be dyed or painted with a quality vinyl/plastic paint (done it before and turned out great, but it’s all in the prep)! Who knows, you may be able to send the covers and the headliner to Daycab. They might be able to duplicate those pieces since you’ve used their products exclusively on your channel. There’s so much that will need metal work on the builder. I’m imagining the body and frame is ate up since it’s sunk to the rocker panels. Paint, body work, rust repair, and rewiring of the entire car will likely run 12-15k usd even doing a lot of it by yourself. If you can get it dirt cheap, do it. Keep it as a parts car, because you now know how hard they are to find parts for! I know it’s more tempting to buy the builder, but you’ll be sooooo much more ahead of the game going with finished car.

Hi Mark! Nice video I say buy both cars. The field car I wouldn't do a full restoration since you're going to cut the roof off and I would cut the right rear quarter off and the driver door too. But I would keep the running and driving one as is. You can dye the plastic parts baby blue. They even have a spray dye for plastic. But you'll have to redo the seat

I like the idea of the car with the roof cut off, but I'd be wanting to see the underside of that wrecked one. The frame's sitting on dirt and that's how you get frame rot. If the frame's too rotten, you don't have a car. Trying to move a car with a frame that's rotted away would cause it to come apart.

I think you were right the first time, it's the 77 grille you want, 76 is ones you've been seeing. Without knowing what the guy wants for the finished one don't forget to add in the time to find one and deal with the paint and body work and finding that proper light bar too. The junker is probably the best route to take even if you just buy it for future parts!
