Watching these fishing videos really makes me miss my grandpa. I dont know anyone who liked fishing as much as he did. he could fish for 10 hours a day 7 days a week and love doing it again the next week. I used to sit on the sea wall with my grandpa and help him clean the 50 or so fish he would catch in a day(that was just what he brought home that doesnt include what he gave to the poor families on his way home).

The part I like about this is that you show cleaning it as soon as you get to the bank and pull the stringer from the water. Some people think its ok to just pack fish up for the drive home or the hike back to camp, but in the extreme heat of summer it doesn't take long to taint the meat after the catch dies if you leave gills and guts in. If you can't transport it live, clean it on the bank. Another great video, brother.

i love those days i come home from work and see a brand new video from WildernessOutfitters. I really wish I lived in Ohio so i could take some of your classes, but New York is just a little to far for it to work. The videos will have to suffice. Keep up the good work buddy. Thanks for all the education so far and for all thats to come.

ha ha! Love the way you through the PFD in the canoe. Can only imagine what was going through your head [based on yesterday's responses]. Of course you know...somebody's going to lecture you on the use of the tall boots in a boat. Face it Dave, you make it look easy, so everyone can be a critic. Thanks for all the posts.

Another great vid. You have a knack for showing people what needs to be shown. Just the other day, I ran across a 40 year old guy who couldn't clean a fish. I guess there are some out there...but heck, don't tell people you can't clean a fish. Lie about it and learn how lol.

Get some Louisiana Fish Fry breading from any supermarket, then put it in a one gallon ziplock with your fillets. Shake it up until the meat is good and covered and slap em in a frying pan. This I think is the best way to enjoy smallmouth, largemouth, and crappie. With this method you don't have to be a world class chef to get the most out of your meat. When it comes to fish, smallmouth bass is by far my favorite fish to angle for and eat.

Hello. Now I see that you have a tv show. Sorry I missed because I do not have televisions for about 5 years. But now I started to watch. The first part has been checked. However, your KZbin channel is much better than the TV show. Your KZbin channel is my favorite. Thanks for doing that. And sorry for my bad english knowledge.

hey Dave great video again. As much as you use Mepps spinner baits in your fishing series I was wandering if you have heard of their squirrel tail recycling program? Mepps will buy your excess squirrel tails or give you in store credit for each tail I think it's 29cents a tail or double that for in store credit... All you have to do is freeze them where they are straight and send them to mepps. They'll even cover the shipping! there's a form and more info on their website.

Compared to what? I love largemouth bass both pan fried and grilled. Butterfly it and grill skin-side down with lemon, garlic butter, a bit of dill, salt and pepper. Its a very mild fish, easy to overpower it. I like putting a little garlic in the melted butter I brush onto it and to sprinkle a bit of finely chopped dill onto it. If you oven bake it, wrap the filets in foil and add white wine to keep it moist. Be careful not to over cook it. Lemon, butter and dill are fish's friends.

Dave, you should bring the knife with you on the canoe so you can kill it as fast as possible, so you don't make the fish suffer. I remember you say in Dual Survival you like fast kills when you hunt and so on.
