I like this season for what it is - every once in a while it's good to see someone win so dominantly.
@AllRequired2 жыл бұрын
However, the producers made sure there was one way to legitimately threaten him. Russell needed to move all the way out of his comfort zone and never go back in. Since only two Zapatera met his default alliance requirements, versus three Ometepe, the dominant alliance was going to have members that weren't what he was used to. With no Natalie White equivalent on either side, that role was going to fall to him. He needed to play their right-hand man, the way she played his girl Friday during their season. Once he accepted Rob's rematch dare at the HvV reunion, production knew exactly what had just landed in their laps. They built a cast tailored precisely to Rob's strongest suits and Russell's weakest suits.

@@AllRequired I mean that doesn't make sense given Rob wasn't even first choice for this season. and Russell messed up RI and didn't even learn in Aus Survivor

My issue is that if we're gonna get a "contestant is so dominant that nobody else is even playing the same game as them" season I need it to have something else going for it. Borneo has the, well... Borneo factor. Thailand has some of the most unintentionally hilarious moments to ever grace the show. Palau had the Ulong arc, James fucking Miller, and one of the best character driven endings to a season. Redemption Island and One World suffer because the floodgates have already opened on the editing focusing more and more on strategy, yet they didn't adjust that for these seasons where we really should've been focusing on the characters instead. Of course, when you stunt cast people like Colton and Phillip, then fill the rest of the cast with generic NPCs, nobody wants to get to know the characters. But I do agree that the domination of Rob alone doesn't put me off at all with redemption island.

This season was tailored precisely to all of Boston Rob's strong suits while putting all of Russell's weak suits firmly into play. The first clue was how everyone responded to each of them coming off the chopper. How Russell missed that cue isn't hard to understand; he thinks he understands Survivor better than he does. The second clue was the makeup of each tribe. The Ometepe had three members that fit Russell's default criteria for an alliance. The Zapatera had only two. On a tribe of nine, those aren't good numbers. However, production left one opening with which to threaten Rob: Russell would need to go all the way out of his comfort zone right out of the chopper and stay all the way out. Whatever Natalie White listed as important to her real-world occupation, that was going to be the key to Russell's progress. And it's not like he didn't have the chance or the time, either. Russell (who had several months to reflect on the final Samoa and HvV content) wasn't at the first two Tribal Councils. Should have had his numbers all lined up by then. What's he do? Why, what he always does: go with the Laker Girl types and dismiss anyone else. One thing led to another, and -- after that split he really should have seen coming -- his concubines followed him out the door.

Actually, they made damn sure there was _one_ possible way to threaten him. Whatever Natalie White listed as important to her game was going to come into play for Russell. The casting makeup guaranteed that he would be unable to make the merge without completely changing up his game. He needed to be the Natalie of the emerging majority no matter which tribe he was on.

How come so many legendary winners won and didnt have "bitter juries"? "bitter jury" is just another word for "poor social skill" or "poor jury management" to use the more technical term. If Russell bombed a huge aspect of the game, he doesnt get to blame others
@MoNehNeh172 жыл бұрын
@@freddytang2128 I think it can be both. I think once you realize youre living with grudge holding people who wouldn’t admit the truth just for their own pride, you should start jury management. Also it can depend on the TYPE of the season that a player has to play. Some seasons the producers will control the struggle and intensity of the game with twists idols, luxury imbalances etc, and some seasons the producers let them relax and kumbaya until day 39.
@bartallen81212 жыл бұрын
When you play enough Roblox Survivor you'll realise that you can play the best possible game with a dysfunctional hand and still lose 4-3 because of bitter kids on the jury actively campaigning against you to lose by dumping votes onto a goat
@freddytang21282 жыл бұрын
@@MoNehNeh17 if 100% of your juries hold a grudge against you, it’s time to reflect on your own social skills. Calling Rupert a dumbass to his face isn’t great “jury management”, for instance. Let’s see you not hold a grudge if you spent a month living with someone like Russell
@066kshitizvsingh4 Жыл бұрын
Tbf, One cant just be an asshole to everyone in the game, not evolve his game at all, burn peoples clothes, mess with the tribes supplies, and then expect the same people(jury) to hand over a million dollars to them. Tony played a similar game to Russell, except he went a bit further imo with his Spy Tech. But, he won twice, you know why? cause he wasn't an arse to everyone . Russell was basically the greatest goat in survivor history. He made the strategic moves but treated everyone like trash, and then the ally/person who gets carried to FTC winds up winning simply cause they were nicer(Natalie) or positioned themselves as against Russell(Sandra).
