One Brown Mouse tutorial (and 1 million channel views!)

Exciting for me as the channel has accumulated one million views over the years. It's hard for me to comprehend that. In this video I talk a little about my recent family trip to NZ. If you want to skip ahead the actual tutorial starts about 5:30

Cool photos and video clips from NZ Doc.. Yeah one of my favorite Tull Albums ( Heavy Horses) one brown mouse is a woodsy backwoods in my mind always enjoyed it driving through the woods to fish beautiful trout streams ponds.. I enjoyed you teaching this a few seasons ago and don't ind at all once again ty good man

Thanks Jon! Heavy Horses was the last album that I really loved. Just returned from 3 days fishing in CO. Landed 3 fish in 3 days but they were beauties. Fly fishing is meditative to me.

So jealous. My wife and I still may settle in for 4 to 6 weeks down there at some point. We always feel too rushed to get here and there. So much to do and see!

@@snoozedoctor Absolutely know what you mean. We live in the North Island, and for our 20th the wife and I planned a tour of the South Island, first time down there for both of us. Spent 2 weeks down there, and it wasn't nearly enough time, felt very rushed, lol. But if we get another chance to go, we now know where precisely we'd concentrate the trip, mainly around Invercargill through to Wanaka. My one major regret of our trip was that we didn't get to see Milford Sounds. Have always wanted to go there, that was going to be my wee highlight. Had everything booked (bus tour and boat ride), but then a major storm washed out the road and cut the whole area off for several weeks. The kicker was that it opened up again 4 days after the date of our booking. 😭 Cest la vie. Tentatively looking at heading down in 2028 for the solar eclipse. Passes directly over Queenstown and Dunedin. Bad time of year for it, but I'd be up for the gamble, lol.

Great tutorial, Doc. Love this song for both melodic and lyrical content. Congrats on the 1 000 000 views. The NZ travel intro was a very pleasant and most enjoyable surprise. First time I've ever heard of Stewart Island and it looks sublime.

Thanks! Stewart Island is really interesting. Closest land to Antartica in that neck of the woods, yet lush temperature rain forest. It's a large island, much accessible only by foot. Everyone lives in the town, Oban, that has all 400 permanent inhabitants. The density of birds is amazing as they've made the most progress at exterminating the vermin that prey on the nests. Introduced rats, stoats, and possums have been rather devastating.

Mainly 2. During editing I forgot to kill the camera mic for the last of the video so the sound changes rather drastically with both the guitar mic and camera mic competing.
