It's interesting since the FF in the comics were Marvel's first big super team so most of them are canonically a little older than the average Marvel hero. And Reed and Sue have kids probably old enough to be in school. It'll be interesting to see how they explain this in the MCU when they're brand new.

I guess I can kinda understand the "hate" on Pedro, but honestly it just doesn't bother me. If he's good in the role, I couldn't care less if he's super well known or "overexposed." I mean, John Krasinski's a pretty well known actor who's been in the spotlight himself for over 15 years at this point; why wouldn't he get the same backlash? Krasinki's casting in MoM was fan-service straight up. Marvel can have their cake and eat it too. Pedro's a good choice as an actor, plain and simple IMO.

Even the response to Krasinski’s cameo in MoM was mixed. So some are probably happy he’s not the main Reed. I’m not in love with the Pedro choice, but I’m willing to give him a chance and I can see him pulling off certain aspects of Reed based on something like Joel in The Last of Us, how he could be a bit distant but he does show empathy. Plus the guy has a lot of range so even if he’s everywhere, I don’t know what to expect from him than say a Dwayne Johnson.

There had been rumors of this exact lineup since November, and I’m SO HAPPY this was the case. Wonderful cast lineup, EXTRA points for getting Quinn and Ebon for Human Torch and The Thing. I’m curious how Pedro will play Reed, but he’s the world’s most cherished actor and human being. Because it’s going to be a 60’s piece (confirmed by Marvel) it might be fun to pay a little homage to I Love Lucy with a similar romance between Reed and Susan. *shrug* We’ll see! But I’m excited, AGAIN, especially for Ebon as Ben Grimm: his performance as Richie in season 2 of The Bear is simply incredible and couldn’t be happier for him in this role. Also helps that he’s Jewish like Ben as well! ❤ Now we just need Mads Mikkelsen as Doctor Doom. Wouldn’t be mad if Cillian got the role, but as a Mads Mikkelsen fanatic… ever since I saw him in Casino Royale and later Hannibal, he was BORN to play the perfect Victor Von Doom. ❤️ Don’t care that he was already in Doctor Strange: Ebon was already Microchip in the Punisher, which is NOW MCU canon thanks to Echo. 👍

Let's be honest. John Krasinski was a super popular fancast as Mr. Fantastic due to fanart. It wasn't based on his acting prowess. Before seeing Multiverse of Madness, I thought it was one of the more overrated fancasts I had heard since I'd never seen anything in his filmography that signaled him as a good fit. But, then, after seeing him in the suit and with the powers, I thought he did a good job. Pedro Pascal, (in my opinion), is a much better actor than Krasinski and deserves the benefit of the doubt. I'm 100 percent behind this cast and take on the characters. Because lord knows, it can't get any worse than Fant4stic.

It's the same conversation with every comic book casting. RDJ, Ben AfflecK, Chris Evans, Heath Ledger, Robert Pattinson, Gal Gadot, etc. Now everyone loves all those characters. As far as looks, many of these castings aren't accurate to the comics.

@@FKA91I don’t even remember people complaining about The Rock as Black Adam or even Jared Leto as The Joker before seeing the results. Jesse Eisenberg is like the one where fan’s skepticism came true. The difference between Pascal and Eisenberg though is that at least I can Pedro pulling off a bit of Reed’s personality unlike Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. People always focuses on Reed being smart and sure that’s needed, but he also comes off as cold and to himself, but still shows some empathy and has a heart and looking at Pascal with some of his work like Last of Us (Where people doubted him as Joel), he can pull that off. I say let’s wait and see before fully judging if he was the right choice.

I don´t mind Pascal as Reed, is funny how some people say there are no stars and just guys playing superheroes, but in this case sounds like a case on the contrary, I don´t think Pascal would phone it in, but he does need to be written outside of his work, because sometimes people confuse the actor doing the same role or playing himself with just having a lazy script, I did think he could have been more Texas in The last of us but stil is a great actor

It wasn't like a Downey-Junior level performance that lifted everything, rather that he acted to the material, which is a directorial thing I guess... Chris Evans on the other hand instantly stood out as an up-and-coming movie star...

I think my main issue is that people are taking being miscast (not saying Pedro Pascal or Joseph Quinn is) and turning it into a beauty pageant. Like do people want actors or models? Let’s see their performance THEN tear them to shreds. Not prematurely judge them because of our own preferences when it comes to physical attraction. I’ve especially seen this with Joseph Quinn.

The rumor is that Disney casted him because they didn't want the FF to be a full white cast, so that's what I heard. Hollywood is in this weird place where they think they know what's best for us people of color. I think I speak for many people of color, that if Marvel did an all white cast or just went from the source material that we wouldn't care if it was a good movie and comic accurate. I think most of us want characters these studios will put time in doing instead of race swapping and not making us an iconic characters, ones we can get back from watching the film and seeing the same character in the comics. Marvel can do this but they are lazy. Where is Brother Voodoo at? Where is Blue Marvel at? Both characters are black and both are just as powerful as Doctor Strange and Thor!! And both are ORIGINAL!!

To be fair though....how in the world can they ever make The Thing look really good in real life? The textures and the orange color make the contrast between Grimm and the rest of the group a tough task. If they go practical, it's going look slightly off to account for something the actor needs while moving around in the costume. The CGI route will almost guarantee he'll look off as well unless they really take their time and give him the Thanos treatment. Lot of mo-cap, some special makeup, and quite a bit of meticulous CGI editing to make movement look natural. It can be done but it'll be difficult. I give the 2004 film credit that their version didn't look terrible.
