KOKS Restaurant located on the Faroe Islands is the most beautiful place I have ever been to, eating one of the best meals in my life. About Master Sushi Chef Hiroyuki Terada:
Master Sushi Chef Hiroyuki Terada is one of the top Japanese Chefs in the entire world and the most popular Japanese chef on KZbin.
At age 10, Terada learned the basics of sushi from his father and then went on to attend RKC Chef's School in Kochi, Japan from 1987-1989. He soon earned a nickname for his fast knife, attention to detail, divine presentation and ability to create new dishes and accents based on traditional Japanese cuisine. After graduating RKC Chef School, he was called to serve under Master Chef Kondo at Yuzuan restaurant in Kochi, Japan from 1989-1992. Mr. Kondo is the master of Kansai style cooking, considered to be the high-end of Japanese cuisine. Terada earned the title Master Sushi Chef by becoming the standing head sushi chef & can serve Fugu (Japan Licensed) to the public.

Chef Hiroyuki Terada is using the Minonokuni Matsu-1573 210mm Yanagi. Super Blue Steel. Can also be used for breaking down whole fish and chickens. But normally for slicing, sashimi, vegetables, meat etc.. This is Chef Hiro's custom specked knife.

Far too much talking. A simple explanation and then let the food speak for itself. I do wonder where the customers come from. I don't think the islands have enough people to keep a two star restaurant in operation.

Wow! What an experience you guys have, Hiro san! Thank you for bringing us with you. A remote restaurant to get 2 Michelin Star is extreme rare, and I love they would explain what is being used in each dish with some details about it. This is what I always love to look forward from a fine dinning experience. Definitely worth to pay a visit if I am traveling to Faroe Island~ *I can see how happy and surprised that Hiro san was when he learn one of their staff can speak in Japanese! :D

It was in the middle of nowhere and just to get there you need to take a 15 minute ride. Incredible that this house has been alone since the late 1700 to early 1800s

What can I say apart from WOW WOW WOW ?. What an absolutely stunning experience, definitely a ticked box in the book of life. We had a table reserved last year and I was getting so excited about it , then covid hit us and we had to cancel. Yes was so crunchy. They make something like that now in a snack. You can find in Asian supermarkets now. I think they are made in Thailand and have a egg yolk flavoring. It is very good.
