Now Eric has mastered sewing, the Queen can sit on her newly upholstered throne and direct the rest of the work! Enjoying your vlog.😊

If u put strap made from your seat material & Stitched them hanging down with zipper, then just roll up and tie. Comes down with shade cloth
@SailAwayVlog6 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yeah, I considered that. Only problem is they'd then only be tied to themselves and therefor hanging from the zipper instead of the roll being snugged up under the edge of the canopy.

Love you guys! What I most appreciate about Eric sewing your new shades is that he's thumbing his nose at gender norms and your lil guy is around to witness it. Blessed be. ❤

What kind of sewing machine I'd Eric using?
@SailAwayVlog6 ай бұрын
That's a REX. Cheaper version of the Sailrite. Doesn't do zigzag stitch but we're not using it for sails, so it's been great.

Well done. I taught my wife to sew, but i do most of it if needed. My mother and grandma were seamstresses. So must have been in my blood. Lol, but it was probably doing home economics lessons at school because I thought it would be a bludge(slang for a good way to waist some time). May have inadvertently learnt something. 😅

Yeah, how could you not pick some of it up? That's cool. I find it pretty cathartic as long as I'm not in a big hurry or anything.

Hi guys! You did the knock off EVA foam off amazon if i remember right. How long has it been installed now? And how is it holding up? Would you install it again? We are building a 48 foot sailboat, and were considering this stuff for the decks.
@SailAwayVlog6 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching. NO! Would definitely not use it again. Already in pretty bad shape. We’re planning to upgrade to PE/EVA as made by Seadek and TopDek. It’s about $275 per sheet instead of $75 but holds up really well. They use it on a lot of new sailboats.

@@SailAwayVlog thanks for the feedback. You likely saved us a bunch of headache and heartache of putting it on our boat.

Awesome job on those shades. We have the Phifertex shades too but paid $$ to have them made. They really do drop the temp a lot.

Need to give credit to someone who showed how to do the four point and finish sewing on all ends. Love the one you are with. More good to see good things.

Thanks! I wish I could but I’m really just winging it. Loren showed me how to reverse to lock a stitch but that’s the extent of my training. Lol.
