I think that the change in Ahsoka's fighting style over the years is a perfect reflection of her maturity and who she became after she left the Jedi order😌 Ahsoka doesn't fight with the same aggressive style that she inherited from Anakin. In fact, Anakin giving her the first additional lightsaber was a means of helping her make up for her lack of defence. But after leaving the Jedi Order, she had to learn how to always exercise caution. To exercise caution before Order 66, so that she could take her baby steps while learning how to become a new person and survive without the Jedi. And later on, to exercise caution after Order 66, so that she could learn how to survive an entire galaxy that was hunting her. That's why this new more mature Ahsoka always takes time to read the room, dissect and analyse both the situation and those people who are in it. That's why she rarely even uses her more offensive reverse grip lightsaber form and the same dynamic movements in combat like she did in the Clone Wars

I have always liked Sabine as the kick as mando she is but there is set up here for something quite dark, Everyone is lost to her her whole family is dead, her homeworld is destroyed, shes not with the rebels crew (the adoptive family) who have parted ways, has betrayed not only her master but in a way the entire republic and is now surrounded by dark side practitioners because of her attatchment to someone shes already lost. Its probably just aswell she isn't a Jedi because where the episode leaves off she wouldn't be a jedi at all but more of a dark jedi/sith with a new master in Baylan. Fully agree, my only criticism. It feels lame to knock this one for being short - the end point was natural and unforced, so much happened and I came away feeling satisfied and excited - BUT I definitely felt the short runtime for all its strengths. I can't give the same praise to Part 3, it was good and all but definitely left me cold and felt like filler to me. Seems strange to have a filler-y half hour episode then an epic but short half hour episode, on the same planet, following the same characters, with no time jump in between nor any form of natural delineation between them, and split it just to make the series up to 8 episodes. That would have made one hell of an 1hr episode. EDIT: Turns out episode 8 is scheduled for the 3rd October. So there's your answer, another month's sub from anyone renewing at the start of the month.

@@LetBBB6345789 about the “apprentice” part, Jedi is a philosophy or lifestyle more than synonymous to “light side force user”. Of course it’s not gonna be the norm, but it makes for interesting possibilities in storytelling for a non-force sensitive person or weakly force sensitive person to join the Jedi way of life. I’m curious about it. And Sabine does know enough about the ways of the Jedi, she spent years besides Kanan, then she saw him train Ezra and probably heard Jedi teachings. Then she literally got trained a bit by Kanan. And then off screen it’s clear she got a period of time of training with Ahsoka. So, she was in constant contact with 3 Jedi/Padawans and saw inquisitors and so on. She knows enough about the force to start training and learning. Besides, there are some very stubble implications throughout rebels that she might have at least a degree of force-sensitivity. And I’m not referencing only the things Kanan said when he was training her.

Amazing action and visuals. Love Baylan and Shin as characters. Sabine's decision wasn't too surprising. Remember that she stole the map when Ahsoka wanted to keep it on her ship. Ezra may not be Ahsoka's, or even Hera's, priority here. But Sabine cannot let go, and attachments aren't always a good thing. We don't know what Ezra is like after all these years in another galaxy. But I suspect that Sabine may not find him the way that she wants. *Somebody* was calling to Morgan through the Force and Thrawn doesn't have that ability. Is it Ezra that Morgan has been hearing?

Her advantage over big, strong opponents like that is how fast and acrobatic she is. It also doesn't make any sense to me why she didn't use both of her lightsabers. I had a couple big issues with this episode, but it was great overall: Why tf did Hera bring her kid on a dangerous mission? Leave him with the fleet you dumb dumb. Why would the HK droids try and take out Huyang in a melee fight when they could have just waited until Ahsoka and Sabine exited the ship and attacked all of them at once with blasters? I don't understand how falling off the cliff transports Ahsoka to the world between worlds tbh. The force users don't use the force as much as they really should be, it's a massive advantage against normal enemies. Hera was told the ring was a hyperspace ring, yet they just fly straight towards it along it's very obvious jump path??? Why was the eye of Scion below clouds, when last episode it was in orbit? Why did Morgan leave the Henge to 'prepare' for the journey when they all knew there were dangerous saboteurs nearby and if she stayed she could obviously massively help defend the calculations? That one really just seems like such a bad plot contrivance.

my impressions: Sabine was the weak link after all, not in her combat capacity - she fights off Shin - she was too emotionally attached to Ezra, she is not a Jedi material. But she is Mandalorian to a fault, dedicated to her family - or whats left of it. Ahsoka is cool, skilled, and all, but she is kinda walking the dark path, with her determination to stop Thrawn at ANY COST. Huyeng is fun to watch with his deadpan remarks and he was able to actually fight the HK, Hera is so going to be in hot water after losing half squadron X-wings and coming up empty handed as well. Baylan is true star of the show. cool, collected and surprisingly honorable. He might be fallen Jedi but he keeps his word. (Which is good quality in a mercenary) - He also truly rocks in lightsaber combat! All in all, their combat was more like Baylan was a Jedi and Ahsoka a Sith.
