Nicholas Destroys You must be quite ignorant of Luffy's techniques then. Hawk Gatling is named as such cause it's gatling imbued with Armament Haki. It didn't work cause Katakuri's own Haki offsets it, cause it's stronger. The same happened when Marco & Vista teamed up against Akainu, his own Haki overwhelmed the other two's, preventing them from bypassing his intangibility. In the first place, why the hell would you even think that Luffy would stop using Haki out of nowhere? This is the New World, pal. Chapter was great, but Pell flashbacks have been initiated. No one can say for sure whether or not Pedro is dead, but someone did bring up a good point that Pedro's "death" wasn't really Oda's style since it wasn't really emotional, thus leaving the possibility of him surviving. Personally I'd want him to be dead cause this is a fucking Yonkou, but with Oda you never know.

I honestly think since Naruto, Bleach, And Fairy Tail ended, their "fight crazy" fans leached on to One Piece to get their weekly fix. Unfortunately, One Piece is story driven with Epic/Meaningful battles mixed into the story. You are absolutely right. I also noticed the Zoro fandom got steadily worse overtime, and that's largely due to those fans gravitating to the battle obsessed character. And at the same token, they hate strawhats who aren't physically powerful like Nami or Usopp. One Piece is an adventure manga first and foremost, battle manga second.

fuck off your high horse, fights are literally the most used plot device that drive this series forward. Without the fights, 90% of this story wouldn't even be the same, and Oda intentionally formed a whole narrative formula around that premise. SH's go to X Island, encounter X residents that need their help, and normally a crazy cluster fuck of events happens until Luffy defeats X main villain. There's plenty more than fights yeah, but the fights shouldn't be shit for years on end. And people complaining about how lazy he's gotten with fights are valid.

I think the only thing Oda can do that would be more unexpected than Pedro actually dying from this is if Pero actually dies from this. That would be the biggest plot twist in One Piece to date. But after Law and then Pell much earlier, I expect the typical "no one dies" shounen result.

honestly I dont think pedro will die not because of its just one piece but because he would beneficial towards wano country. As I explained in my review of this weeks one piece chapter. A lot of OP fans are dissapointed after the reveal of sabo's bounty but it's actually pretty high for his first bounty (I do believe that's his first bounty) compared to Perospero who's bounty is only 700 million berries and take note Peros is; the first son of a yonko, and has been a pirate for at least 40+ years. For me Peros bounty is actually pretty low..
