So many people spend lots of time stretching their calves over and over again but they continue to tighten right back up…😞
As a physical therapist, when it comes to improving mobility and decreasing muscle tightness- I know how powerful movement can be ✅
Following up a typical stretch with a movement that then uses the muscle can be a game changer 🙌🏼
For example- following up a calf stretch with 15-30 calf raises can help to make the mobility gains last longer ☝🏽
It may not be immediate- consistency is key, especially if your calf muscles have been tight for a long time. You may need a few times of doing this to unlock them 👀
With arthritis, especially knee and hip arthritis, calf muscles can become really tight making walking, stairs and inclines difficult 😣

I normally have my Classes stretch the muscle after doing the exercises. We warm up with dynamic stretches, and light cardio.

Maybe you can help. I've asked so many pt's , drs & surgeons.... They don't know....my hamstring spasms if I bend my leg back or when doing bridges ( glutes squeezed toes up) I need to strengthen. This is my surgery side. Any tips?

These shorts are so helpful to me! I was badly hurt 15 years ago, when a bus T-boned my car. I still have to use a cane to walk and if I rush around too fast, odds are pretty good I will fall. So, I’ve finally learned to slow down, but there are so many issues: imbalance, pain, stiffness, etc. Thank you for these tips!

This is only the second time I've ever heard this sort of thing after first hearing it from Tony Morrison on KZbin. Headvocates strengthen the muscles after doing mobility drills in order to maintain that Mobility.

The problem I have with calf muscles is they have gone all lose Iv lost muscle mass and need to build them up again Having osteoporosis and severe emphysema badly affects me and I’m struggling to toned up I’m hoping theses will help thighen the calf muscle

I wish you practiced in my city. I have fibromyalgia, and all my muscles are tight and painful even after stretches and exercise. It's much worse if I don't work them, though. Full-body on fire sensations.

My calves have been so tight for so long. And I've been doing it all wrong. Damn it ! It has resulted in multiple plantar fascia ruptures. And although the ruptures release a lot of the tightness over time, the calf just gets tighter. I do a lot of sitting for work is that why they're always so tight?
