I have a ‘21 Mojave that I purchased brand new, I now have 27,000 miles on it. The only issue I’ve had with it is the small aux battery went dead in just over a year. I replaced the whole battery system with a Genesis dual battery system, which has been amazing. I have replaced my oil filter with the Baxter oil filter adapter as a preventative maintenance thing. The Gladiator, for me, has been a workhorse and a pleasure to daily drive!

Yeah I have a 2021 Mojave, and that truck is great. Best riding truck I have owned. I have a 392 Wrangler and it rides rough, as it doesn't have as log wheelbase as the Gladiator. The Gladiator Mojave version I think enhances the on road characteristics. More heavy duty springs on a Mojave and stiffer Fox shocks and this thing does not lean into a curve,! It takes them nice and flat. I have Nitto road terrains on it which are 10 ply which cuts down on lean also and they are super quiet.(I still have my Falcons and they are great for winter) They are quiet ! If it's a road trip we take the Gladiator! The 392 stays at home. I have had ours 3years paid off, and it's great. I have the Mopar headliner and its quiet. The bluetooth speaker is cool also! The Gladiator would be super perfect if it had a 5.7 Hemi. Thats the only think Jeep missed on this thing. Other than that it's great. It's easy to service, oil changes are super easy and quick. I am Keeping mine ! Great video! best regards, chuck

From what I have found its primarily lack of radiator/airflow cooling real estate. Baffles me since the Wrangler 392 exists. Maybe because they assume people would want to tow more with a truck? No idea.

I’ve owned 14 jeeps and recently a jeep 392, but I purchased a gladiator Rubicon because they had them on sale almost $15,000 off sticker price, I am mediately built the jeep lift kit tires wheels and all the high-end goodies etc. and I must say I really like the gladiator, it is so useful it tows an off-road trailer excellent and handles much better than the on winding roads, the bed is so useful I do a lot of off roading I go somewhere deep in the back country more than a few times a month, the vehicle is totally affordable super easy to work on and I do feel pretty reliable as I felt that way with all my jeeps I’ve had a little issues but nothing major, it’s just a good very useful off-road capable fun to drive vehicle and when you put a lift on the gladiator there’s nothing on the market that looks like them they are so cool looking👍

With regards to the engine dry start issue - I've used Lucas Oil Stabilizer with great results in other cars. Especially saved an engine rebuild when the head gasket in our '87 LandCruiser blew its head gasket (dad overheated it). All it needed was a new gasket but everything else checked out and was otherwise undamaged. Currently using the one for synthetic oil in my ES350 that wifey would idle for 30 minutes daily with the a/c on in the midday south florida sun (also with no noticeable wear or additional coolant usage or oil burning). Yes, I'm thankful she currently works from home (she's amazing but not the best when it comes to taking care of the car).

2020 Mojave owner here. At 39k miles I started smelling burning coolant. Both heads replaced due to warpage. Each replaced a month apart, and after the second head I’ve had this rough idle/studder. Feathering the throttle ~700 rpm causes a studder/jump in rpm. Dealer replaced throttle body, and relearned the throttle but still happens. Next step is getting Chrysler engineers involved. I have a Gladiator Rubicon (bought new April 2021), and have 2 minor issues: 1. After about 3 months, my rear camera got fuzzy on me (like 360p resolution maybe) so that was replaced (under warranty) and it's been fine since. Dealershp said it had some moisture/condensation inside, but I couldn't see anything looking at the lens. Whatever, it was replaced. 2. Something other Gladiator owners have reported: The Rear window glass leaking due to water getting past the gasket at the top. The glass was replaced by a local auto-glass shop the local Jeep dealership uses (and was done under warranty). It's likely it had been leaking for a while but I never noticed, so one day I checked (during a rain) -- as I had read someone else posting about this factory/assembly defect -- and sadly, I saw MINE was leaking also! I suggest ALL new Gladiator owner go out and check their rear window for leaks as well. Luckily, I discovered it just 3 months before my factory/OEM 3-year warranty expired. No other issues than those... Personally, I can't think of a better vehicle for my needs (back then, now and into the future) so I'm quite pleased with it. IF I had to buy a new vehicle today -- and as before, be restricted to the mid-size truck segment (and "serious 4x4/off-road-focused) -- I'd get another Gladiator (Rubicon). The ZR2 is close, but wouldn't be my first choice, and I'm not sure (for one criticism) I'd want to live with its poorer MPG numbers, especially the HWY numbers. I got my Gladiator in CO but now am here in TX (temporarily). Of course, the Rubicon is more @ home back in the Rocky Mountains (and serious snow!) than here in the West TX desert (a Mojave would be better) but as I plan to return to CO in 2 years it's fine. And, I occasionally take it out into the desert anyway -- especially as I have zero interest in "Baja Running" -- I just take it slow & easy when I'm off-road...I don't see any need/reason to be "speeding" anywhere. Why? ;-) -- BR

Thank you for the feedback 😊! I'll have to keep an eye on my rear window now.

@@PlanItSendIt Yes, at least the earlier model Gladiator owners should. Glad I cheeked mine...if it kept leaking the wet carpet -- that I had never noticed sooner (!) -- under the rear seat would likely cause the floor to rust. Hope I caught mine in time before that happened (I'm optimistic I did). ALSO, you want to catch it before the 3-year OEM factory warranty expires or else the fix is on you! Whatever, from what I gathered it's a fairly common issue for the Gladiator...if so, then Jeep should have had a TSB issued on it really. "Jeep Wave" -- BR

Good question. I think if you're overlanding or running lots of accessories, probably a good idea after your warranty expires. I've been fortunate that I haven't had any battery issues yet, so nothing pushing me towards the dual battery. However, I do feel like I will when my new engine warranty expires.

Watch the aux battery delete videos. Not just the ones where they pull a fuse and move one wire. The ones where they actually remove the aux battery, tape up the negative and move the aux positive wire to the positive main. Costs nothing, and should take less than an hour to do.

I got the genesis dual battery they’re two smaller marine batteries much better than regular batteries. One battery controls the crank the other powers everything else if for instance you run a battery down there’s a red button between the battery press it and one battery jumps the other but you can also add a switch to your A pillar and jump yourself without getting out the jeep no need looking for someone to get a jump.

I got a 2024 grand Cherokee L for my daily, looking to get a used gladiator as my toy. Stuck between this and the rubicon
@PlanItSendIt3 ай бұрын
The Rubicon is designed to be in the rocks. They do this with front and rear lockers, a disconnecting front swaybar for additional articulation, and a low grear transfer case. These features really help in all situations, but not for going fast. The main reason to go Mojave over Rubicon trims is the added frame strengthening and stronger front-end components... the 1inch taller too, but to a lesser extent. However, the parts a Mojave doesn't have are easily upgradable. You're coming from a Grand Cherokee, I'm assuming you weren't going hard-core in the rocks because I wouldn't bring one in the rocks. If you end up in the rocks after switching to a Gladiator, I haven't priced how much it would be to strengthen the frame, but I do know if you went Mojave, that upgrading the transfer case is DIY if you're comfortable with tools. Same with an aftermarket swaybar to meet your needs. Personally, I would send my Mojave to an off-road shop to add lockers because I don't have the experience, but it's probably in the 2 grand price range to upgrade the front diff. Hands-down if you're not going off-road that often, the Mojave is definitely the better daily driver!

@PlanItSendIt6 ай бұрын
Mine is a 2021 and the engine problems are specific to the 3.6L. As far as ones to avoid, personally I think they're all great options.... again, I'm a Jeep enthusiast. If you're going to mod-it out quickly, then a Sport is probably the best way to go because you'll replace most items. However, if you want to keep it stock for a while, then select the trim level you feel best suites your driving style. I'm not too much of a fan of having the antenna in the windshield on the new ones because the windows will catch rocks and crack. All my windshield hits were on the freeway. Otherwise, I'm a big fan of the platform. If I were to do it again, I would get the extended warranty straight from Jeep.

I passed a caravan {3{ of "overlanders" this summer on some desertish federal roads in WA. There's some beautiful sights in central WA. There was a Toyota and 2 Jeeps with huge tires, racks, bumpers and winches etc. They probably weren't 25 miles from 5 different gas stations but they all had the gas cans hanging off the vehicles. They had the shovels, and all of the recovery gear. I passed them in my bone stock Cherokee Latitude 4x4 with half a tank of gas and went all the way to the end of the gated road, turned around and passed them again on the way back. Later it struck me that I used to do these roads in my old Honda Civic and I sorta felt my current Jeep was overkill. I guess my question is, what happened to the old saying "you have to use the right tool for the job"?
