All throughout the pre timeskip period I felt like the show had a clear vision of 3 marines that still had that meaning of "true justice" and not just the justice they had been told by the superiors, being Koby, the young very idealist; Aokiji, the guy that has his truth/justice ideals, but also knows the importance of rules to go by in the world; and Smoker somewhere between those two. After the timeskip though, with Aokiji out, I'm glad Fujitora took his place as a high ranking marine that still has this "true justice", but in his own manner.

@@thebeyonder8814that’s why one piece is so good. It’s morally conflicting on top of everything else. Ace and Garp in marineford are great examples too. Ace grew up with luffy and garp cared very much about ace. But ace knew that he was responsible for his own actions, and didn’t want to involve garp because then garp would’ve had to compromise his marine status. Garp was hurt to see what happened to ace, but he has morals and duties that made it conflicting.
