I used a bunt cake pan. I had to kind of shave the top to make it perfectly round, but it was great. Perfect for my office party. They got a kick out of it because I always brought a box of donuts.

No just one and used a knife to like shape the top so it's smoother. Mine has these ridges so it's more of a traditional bunt cake. So I had to shave down the top to make is much more smooth and then sliced it right in half. It didn't look as perfect as his because the sides were a a little flat like a cake. But instead of drizzling the frosting I did a layer of normal frosting first. I did that because of the imperfections when I shaved the ridges down on the top of the bunt. After I frosted it, then I drizzle the melted frosting on too. Also used real fruit for filling. Strawberries in a pot with sugar and stirred till it was jam like.

This was so helpful! Can I ask why you used this type of icing as opposed to actually making American buttercream and then melting it? I've been scouring the internet trying to figure out the best thing to pour over top of my donut cake. This is the first thing I've seen like this.
