Fischer made a point about not wanting to be called a chess genius, because he wasn't just a chess player like most of them are. Niemann is in the very least much more widely versed and consequently speaks better than vast majority of chess players. Really enjoy your content in general, btw! In the real world he is nothing special he's only good coincidentally in events that have barely any cheating measures.

However, a 2700 rating and top 100 world rank is very special in the chess world and generally referred to as super gm status. In the USA Neimann is ranked top 8 as of June 2024 ratings. If that's not good enough to get invited to elite events in at least in the USA then I don't know what is. This is the reason why Neimann is complaining and he has strong point.

@@MrSupernova111 a 2700 is special. a 100 blitz world rank is definitely not. But as Kramink proved with Jospem only playing at a 2600 level, Even some of these FIDE ratings are questionable. For example Jospem got his 100 points in a rigged moscow open a few years ago. The reason they do this is because only 2700 and above get invitationals. Its all politics and corruption. I don't even want to watch classical OTB chess anymore. I want to watch highly regulated blitz matches only. I say this but I'm not even interested in chess. For me it died last year, and now we are watching it being buried.

Hans' take on the American players is very poor, especially the analogy with other sports teams. The fact of the matter is that chess is not a team sport. It's not like football where if you could hypothetically buy the top 10 players you would have an unbeatable team; chess is an individual sport. They are not merceneries. @nicbentulan well he's not my hero but I don't even follow chess anymore cuz honestly it's dead to me. I don't like any chess players anymore I still like Nihal Sarin i guess that's about it I play with the expensive e-board I wasted money on with lichess and that's about it. levitov popped in my algorithm, but all the support that people like a hikaru and Hans Niemann get make me think chess is just another Estport for cheating kids. I think the viewership an active player base already died a year ago. yea it's a little weird, but you have to keep a few things in mind. first, it's ALWAYS stupid to make fun of the way someone speaks because you have no idea what you're talking about and you probably sound like an idiot to half the population of the earth so it's meaningless. two, many people have speech impediments and have no control over how they sound, again rendering bullying like that totally meaningless. thirdly, hans spends a lot more time within multi linguistic communities, MUCH more so than most english speakers, which effects pronunciation naturally. lastly, i think hans may also be on the spectrum to some degree which may be why he has an affected speaking style too. it's really something you should be able to get over, bro.
