Your videos got me to purchase my first Platycerium last year, after a lot of miss identification, it ended up being a Hilli 🎉 Since then, my collection has grown to include 12 out of the 18 species 😁 still quite difficult to come by in NorthEast US. I’m hoping to start sowing spore to make them more accessible here Thanks Sean! I credit you to the start of my collecting, it turns out I have somewhat of a green thumb. Collecting turn into a passion project and I’m creating an online compendium for Platycerium, I’ll share with you once it’s wrapped up Cheers 👋

I love ur channel and ur dedication about plants. tanq so much.its great to see the rare and exotic plants. paltyceriums ridleyi r not available in Indian market. plz suggest where can I buy at reasonable price.
@onlyplants Жыл бұрын
You can reach out to the platycerium sellers (their instagram account is always listed on the bottom left corner of every booth). However keep in mind that India has a strict import rule. I believe an import permit is required to bring in plants into India. If the supply of ridleyi is low in India, it might be a good business opportunity…

One plant I have not seen in your latest videos on these exhibitions is the microsorum thailandicum "blue oil fern" I am obsessed with it...I actually bought spores online for around $35 US and recently sown them and waiting patiently for growth , I was hoping to see them as they should be more common there but I guess not much ppl into it yet or they don't know about it? Overall, I really enjoy your videos 😊
@onlyplants Жыл бұрын
Oh they are hugeee in Thailand. I filmed it in last years plant show in Thailand 😀 as the name suggest the plant is endemic to Thailand. Sadly Indonesians did not catch on with the trend.

You would have to check with them, you can get free consultation with Exitplant which is the sponsor of the video (their info is at the end of the episode). Sellers and exporters can actually move plants out of Indonesia, but whether your country allows the receiving of plants is usually the tricky question - varying from region to region.
