@@aaronkristo858 I saw the articles. How is that Whitney's fault? It wasn't her suggestion to lip it. Are you saying she couldn't possibly have done as well as her prerecording??? Lol! It's Whitney Houston for goodness sake. Hers rendition, pre-recorded or not, is more memorable because her 3 notes she does when she sings the word "free" have been hijacked by other performers repeatedly, I can't even count. Imitation is the best form of flattery. And I love Chris Stapleton's voice, but facts are facts.

After that horrible flooding in eastern Kentucky in summer 2022 Chris got some other eastern KY singers , Patty Loveless, Ricky Skaggs, Dwight Yoakum, and others to Rupp Arena for a concert. I think they raised over 2 million dollars for the people that suffered the flooding. That was great that they did that.

@@fiveoneforfour He claimed she listened to the orchestra once and then sang the pre-record in one take. “Truth is always the right answer. I never shy away from someone questioning anything that was done, or how it was done. I mean, the truth is the right thing. Could I have said that it was live-live? Yes, but then when do you stop trying to gloss something over? It is what it is. And there's no doubt that Whitney sang it. So my answer to that, my response to that immediately was, ‘Yes, she sang live. But we used the track for the audio.’ - Rickey Minor (Whitney Houston's musical director)
@kyledaugherty1609
@kyledaugherty1609 Жыл бұрын
@@aaronkristo858 That's not lip syncing. Lip syncing is when you move your mouth to the track and don't use your vocal chords. Rickey was saying Whitney sang the song. She was singing. It just wasn't what was being piped into the stadium...a recording of her singing was being played. In my opinion, this is worse, because it's even more deceptive than lip syncing. But, I understand their reasoning for doing it. There's every possibility they did the same thing with Chris. No way to know.

Chris Stapleton let the words of the national anthem be the star! He didn’t do a Broadway production or scream at the top of his lungs. He’s simply and with deep sincerity, let the word speak for themselves! This is the way the national anthem should be sung every single time! The song and what it stands for is the star not the person singing them. Awesome job Chris Stapleton you’re my favorite person singing the national anthem.!

Kudos to Jason Kelce for showing his American Spirit ... Helmut off; hand over his heart; standing on his 2 feet; and singing along. Were tears hanging on his lower eyelids? Not an Eagles fan, but I am now a Jason Kelce fan. Thank you for showing the nation how a man should act during the Anthem. May every boy learn from you. ❤

With Chris it was just him and a guitar performing the Anthem the way it was meant to be performed live. No orchestra, no vocal gymnastics, no prerecording and lipsyncing. That to me is the thing that tips it in my opinion over Whitney. Everyone has right to their own opinion though, that's just mine.

I like that he didn't make our great song unrecognizable, the way so many singers do! They tend to forget that singing America's national anthem is about honoring our country, not about showing off their vocal range 🗽🇺🇲

Firstly, I am Canadian and as such have heard the U.S. anthem on countless occasions in all sorts of venues, mostly in sporting events. This was by far the best performance of the American anthem I have ever heard. It doesn't hurt that I am a fan of his either, but he far surpassed even Whitney Houston's rendition, and that was almost impossible to beat. Well done Chris.
