I agree. People have been surprised that he's from eastern Kentucky. After that horrible flooding in eastern Kentucky in summer 2022 Chris got some other eastern KY singers , Patty Loveless, Ricky Skaggs, Dwight Yoakum, and others to Rupp Arena for a concert. I think they raised over 2 million dollars for the people that suffered the flooding. That was great that they did that.

@@aaronkristo858 That's not lip syncing. Lip syncing is when you move your mouth to the track and don't use your vocal chords. Rickey was saying Whitney sang the song. She was singing. It just wasn't what was being piped into the stadium...a recording of her singing was being played. In my opinion, this is worse, because it's even more deceptive than lip syncing. But, I understand their reasoning for doing it. There's every possibility they did the same thing with Chris. No way to know.

With Chris it was just him and a guitar performing the Anthem the way it was meant to be performed live. No orchestra, no vocal gymnastics, no prerecording and lipsyncing. Firstly, I am Canadian and as such have heard the U.S. anthem on countless occasions in all sorts of venues, mostly in sporting events. This was by far the best performance of the American anthem I have ever heard. It doesn't hurt that I am a fan of his either, but he far surpassed even Whitney Houston's rendition, and that was almost impossible to beat. Well done Chris.
