AJ, what did you prefer, this corsa gsi or the ibiza fr with 1.5 tsi you have tested in the past?

Thanks Mark :D good to be back, was a bit busy the past couple months.. ibiza 150 fr vs corsa gsi, hmmm.. good question.. i think the ibiza fr in the end is what i would say ticks more boxes. its a bit bigger and a bit cheaper while still being fairly sporty.. but in the end, the purposeful corsa gsi is the better (read: sportier) car to drive. it has a quick steering rack and more sporty suspension which helps keep the body flat during cornering.. this really gives the car a dynamic personality. so its up to you. if you want one car which does a lot, ibiza fr.. if you already have a more practical car and want a weekend toy on a budget, corsa gsi.

The OPC Corsa looked more sporty than the E generation, especially because of the design of rear lamps and small rear windows, as in a coupe to some extent.

I don't think this competes with the fiesta ST. With those stats, I think a better comparison would be the fiesta ST Line 140hp.

Yes, you're right. This GSi is not a direct competitor to the Fiesta ST or the Polo GTI, but rather in line with the ST Line.

The Insignia GSi is also just an appearance package. With some harder dampers etc. So I don't think the GSi's are ment to be an OPC replacement.

Hi AJ, great review! Quite frankly for a 1.4l turbo charged engine I'd either expect more torque or at least getting the torque at a lower RPM, I have the feeling my wimpy 1.2l 3 cylinder could outperform this thing in acceleration and that is not exactly a strong or nice engine o_o

No, they don't make the corsa opc anymore. But there is a new corsa coming next year, so maybe they will introduce an opc for that generation

As a 38 yr old with a corsa vxr this is a horrible car for 18k the gsi badge used to mean something having a astra and nova gsi ..this car is just confusing and way overpriced

Dont listen to this dude about this being as fast or powerful as the fiesta st, it has 50 less hp (148 vs 200) and isnt even nearly as fast to 100 kmh (8,9 vs 6,7 sec) hes getting paid to state that. In fact it lags far behind all other small hot hatches in performance, and it isnt cheaper eighter
