Fun Fact: 13th Warrior is unofficially a realistic adaptation of Beowulf. The pagan tribe = Grendel, a mutated son of Cain. After dealing with them, they go into the cave to hunt down their Mother which leaves Bolewuf maimed, then he goes out in glory while fighting their "dragon" formation.

33:50 - While a very awesome gift, freeze stones don't work in drinks like ice does. Ice serves not just to cool the drink down; it dilutes the drink as it does. Also, while the ice melts, it continually cools the drink. Stones do not. Once they reach equilibrium (which doesn't take long), they're done.

The alien in the escape shutting was dying. That was the original intent of the creature in the first film; they have incredibly short life spans (around 24 hours). The creature didn't want to have to exit its hiding spot. It just crawled in there to be left alone and die, until Ripley gave it no choice by firing steam in its face.

You know another down just moves you in the menu, soooo... move right? Nothing happens! Ah-HAH! Then try down again--crap! I moved down in the menu. Move back up and start over. I don't know why it bothers me that Drinker ponders what would have happened if he had stuck with KZbin back in 2010. What is the matter with where he is now? Why would he ever think about erasing Ryan Drake? What is going on with him? It's like we as an audience and fans aren't enough for him. I'm sure he is on an upward trajectory, so he'll get to see if more is better. Maybe I'm just one of those weirdos who doesn't think more is more. Still, my intuition (which has a pretty darn good track record) says it's not, but to each his own. P.S. I don't know, creating a character and then seeing him brought to life on the big screen, isn't that every writer's dream? P.P.S. I have nothing against success or the trappings of success if they are things that one truly values. And success brings opportunities, especially for a creative who needs challenge, growth, stimulation, new people, new places, new situations, fresh green pastures to stay vibrant, there's nothing wrong with that. One has to stay nourished. You just have to make sure you're being nourished in all the ways that really count as well - like the adoring gaze of a beloved dog, or one's own warm bed at night, or the good solid roof one has worked to keep over one's head. Those are worth remembering to be grateful for every night in one's prayers. P.P.P.P.S. I keep thinking of that Joe Walsh song about his mansion that he's never been to or his Maserati that he's not allowed to drive anymore. lol. Which always reminds me of a high school trip I took Spain - there was a tape player on the bus, but we idiot kids only had 3 tapes played over and over and over as we tooted around. And Joe Walsh blaring out 'life's been good to me so far' is just burned in my brain - forever associated with the Spanish countryside. lol

Drinker skips right over the subject of the Kama Sutra. Lol Personally, I think we should be more focused as a society on getting heterosexual couples in bed together and less on what they do once they get there. 'Make Straight Sex Great Again'. But first let's start with getting most people to have hetero sex (once, again, repeatedly, whatever) and then we'll go from there. Maybe Drinker can give us all romance lessons - a good place to start. Or instead of doing a 'Date Night' suggestion channel he can call it, 'Movies That Act Like Female Aphrodisiacs' after all that's what his audience is really looking for anyway. P.S. And a suggestion for the movie most famous for being a female aphrodisiac, far and away would be 'Last of the Mohicans' - Daniel Day Lewis hacking his way through fifty guys (20 in just the opening scene) to save Madeleine Stowe, holy shit - every woman I know was like yeah, baby. I say that after making fun of men for their violent rhetoric. Double standard, you say. Yep, I do, I did, guilty as charged.

Hey Girl,sounds like you need some Romance
@cynthiajohnson941216 күн бұрын
@@JoshuaKevinPerry Most of what I write is just nonsense for the sake of nonsense, purely for entertainment sake, people can take it as they like. As for romance, I haven't been interested in romance in a very, very long time. I've mostly been doing my best to deftly avoid it really. But I've recently become open to persuasion. I did have a bit of a crush on a guy at summer camp. He was doing this training session thing and he kept staring at me, I was sitting on the ground and I kept moving so that someone would be blocking his view and then he kept moving so he could see me again. After about the sixth time, I thought this isn't my imagination. Then he waited after the training was over till everyone else was gone and offered me a ride. And while he was driving me to my car, I teased him about voting for Hillary Clinton after he swore he was gonna vote for Sanders no matter what. And that was the end of that romance. lol. Seriously, that was the closest I've come to real world romance in I don't know how long. I need a guy who can stand up to my good-natured teasing. But he was the only person I knew who had a really good reason to hate Donald Trump - he'd done construction in NY and Trump screwed him out of thousands of dollars. The story had a happy ending though - his union sued Trump and won. But I still think he wants Donald Trump's guts to explode, as he so colorfully described it. Lol P.S. That was my election day/romance story. But seriously I do like men that make unique and humorously expressive use of language. It lights me up.
@cynthiajohnson941216 күн бұрын
@@JoshuaKevinPerry You have to admit it is hard to believe in romance in this cynical age we live in. But I'm keeping my heart open to the possibility, regardless of how hard it is to have faith in. And as for that guy at summer camp, you'd probably find this hard to believe but I actually had a 'psychic' experience concerning him - I had this inner knowing that he didn't believe in love. I felt his deep, deep loneliness and yet I just 'knew' he didn't believe that love even existed, which explains the tragic loneliness. So even if I hadn't gently teased him about who he voted for, it was never in the cards romantically for us - so no great loss on the relationship front. But the experience did make me trust in my inner knowing about matters of the heart. So anyway, I'd have to find me a pretty pure-hearted man who believes in love and as the Eagles sing I can feel him but he's no where in sight..as yet. But anyway, my hermit mode, as they call it in spiritual circles is coming to an end. So we shall see. And what forces are behind my psychic revelations? Interesting question. Don't know, but they have my highest good in mind, of that I'm sure.

You guys crack me up. You do 3 1/2 hours on Halloween night of imagining flesh-ripping, bloody death-rattling battles, and then you go right back into it a couple of nights later without missing a beat. Lol. My questions is, do men ever get enough of plotting battles to the death? Apparently not. Women just don't think like that. Even in my own life, I have a lock on my bedroom door, a flea market purchased baseball bat leaning by the door, and a plan to climb out the window and make through the woods toward the neighbors' light - if anyone should ever break-in. That's as far as my thinking about potentially violent encounters ever goes. And Drinker, I started watching his 'Drinker Fixes...' but I didn't see the original movie and have trouble following plots when I have no reference points. I watched the original 'Alien' on a tiny black and white t.v. years ago, when I'd just moved out on my own and lived off second hand stuff ( I still do - my house is filled with rehabbed furniture - I like restoring and repurposing stuff. There is next to nothing 'new' in my house - I guess I like it that way. And, If a beloved pet vomits on the couch - I don't really care, take the homemade cover off the futon and throw it in the wash. Problem solvid, as inspector Clouseau would say). Anyway, I watched 'Alien' on a little staticy screen on a black and white t.v. - they didn't even make black and white t.v.s by then - not by a long shot, so I have no idea who's basement that t.v. came out of. But anyway, my point is I couldn't really see what was going on in the movie, and it wasn't long before I realized I was really glad I couldn't see what was happening. And on that note, maybe Drinker will be glad some day that he couldn't see most of what was happening in RoP - one less bad t.v. show to be haunted by. But anyway, back to 'Drinker Fixes....' it's hard to say, but it sounded like Drinker has a pretty diabolical mind. Hard to separate out which diabolical ideas were his and which were in the original. lol. But man oh man, entertainment definitely needs more light, less dystopian hellscapes and battles to the death. Choose life, guys, choose life. P.S. I don't know how people 'watch stuff' on their phones - I hate tiny screens - probably due to dyslexia. It's very hard for us to figure out little screens - we can't 'read' at a glance the way most people can, we have to break everything down. And how do you reconcile the desire for gigantic screens with penchant for looking at micro-screens? But there is far, far more that confuses me these days, than stuff I get. And the stuff I do understand is too subjective for me to get any credit for. P.S. Drinker probably likes that I said he has a diabolical mind - he's just that twisted. Actually he knows that I unconditionally love him, so I can get away with saying untoward stuff and teasing him. P.P.S. In rural Vermont, I benefit from the mythos that we country folk are all gun totting, trigger-happy yahoos (in the UK they think all Americans are like that). As a former gun control supporting Leftie, I figured out pretty quick that I benefited from the belief that every house in VT is a potential armory and if you break-in you never know what type of barrel you may have to stare down. So I live off the protection of gun owners, and for that I am grateful. And I don't even know which of my neighbors have guns, I only know about the ones that don't. P.P.P.S. Back when I lived outside of Providence (bluer than blue) in a nice middle-class historic section of town, we had an incident in our neighborhood on Sunday afternoon where it sounded like gun shots came from down the street. I went out on the porch to see what was going on and down the street towards where the sounds had come from came all the neighborhood men - and they came in formation (which was fascinating) they didn't come shoulder to shoulder, they were spaced about 6-7 feet apart in rows- something instinctive put them in that formation as they didn't know what they were facing. Other men joined them as they came up the street, And they were completely unarmed, and yet they all walked into some unknown, seemingly violent situation. Turns out it was just a transformer blowing up after a car struck a pole, but they didn't know that. I was soooo proud and grateful to my neighborhood men that day. I slept a lot better after that.
