Yeah I kinda have to agree with you there, lol. NOW, MIND YOU, it's another matter, I think it can be fairly said, about giving the CHARACTER the send-off THEY deserve -because ultimately it's the character Indiana Jones that people fell in love with, not Harrison Ford the person. So I can appreciate people wanting to not be mistreated in their investment in the character..................but yea, Ford don't giveAFFFFFF at all anymore, about any of it, and anyone who thinks he does is just kidding themselves lol -he's been VERY explicit about it across many many interviews.

Actually it was her father (& his rage fit, destroying her grotto/cherished items) & unbeknownst to both of them, that Ursula was plotting to undermine Triton, that was the tipping point/perfect storm. Ariel was content to just fantasize about Eric & talk about meeting him in-person as a Mermaid (again fantasizing that he'd be accepting of her other-ness). But once Triton rages out & doesn't apologize -- tho there's a brief moment afterwards where he sees a sobbing Ariel that he almost makes to console her, but pride stops him -- He allows Ursula's eels to come in & get into Ariel's head, which leads her to Ursula/the deal. Eric was definitely part of the motivation. It's a fairytale, it's "love at first sight". But it's alot more the push/pull of Triton & Ursula that kinda force Ariel to make decisions.
@WillFredward7167
@WillFredward7167 Жыл бұрын
YES. It is deeply telling that modern Disney felt the need to totally rework Ariel’s motives. She was obsessed with all things related to the human world. Eric was the one that made her own interest personal and elevated it. Disney changing that proves how terrified they are of the entire concept. … I’m sad and tired now.

Modern movie themes are overtly anti-human in nature, and it happens so often, it's pretty ridiculous to call it "accidental." To partially disagree with Chris Gore, Disney isn't trying to 'desexualize' movies. They're trying to de-hetero-sexualize their movies. They can superimpose overt and unnecessarily gey themes and relationships in their films all they want, but they hate the themes of natural relationships. (But this comment is true, so YT won't let you see it for 3 years.)

I dont think they're really trying to de-hetero-sexualize stuff, to me its just simple math, you can portray a white couple, but maybe some idiots will call you out for not promoting other etnicities, but you can promote interracial couples, but thats old news what is this? The 90s? So why not promote gay and tran couples? You cant criticize me for doing it because that would make you a bigot and every activist will defend our product, if my job is to promote my content it would be unprofessional of me not to try to capitalize on that. Speaking of overcompensating for sexual desirability in modern media, I recently watched Lost and was struck by how often there were titillating or selacious camera angles and postures. Kate in the sea washing her clothes in the first episode is a prime example, but just other more casual things like camera views down tops as Claire bends over her crib, people's clothes getting wet, Shannon sunbathing. My brain noticed the difference immediately, thinking in contemporary media all of those camera angles would be strictly and awkwardly neck up. Not saying it was great when women are overtly sexualised, used like pieces of meat to keep hungry men watching, just that it's jarring when any incidental desirability is pruned and absent.

For nonlinear story telling, the movie The Endless executes the concept extraordinarily well. I think that would be the only way that any of the Star Wars fans would ever be coming back! To me, the stakes in the MCU were over the moment you have Stark getting IMPALED THROUGH THE CHEST by Thanos and then Stark uses his 'magical gel' to fix it like no biggie! There was also LOKI dying like FOUR TIMES and miraculously coming back with one lame excuse after another! And my fave, the laziest deus ex machina there is, TIME TRAVEL, to CHEAT their way into an ARTIFICIAL win! No, MCU, Thanos STILL won in the ORIGINAL timeline! Ya just created an ALTERNATE one where he didn't! Talk about 30 movies to build up THAT cop-out! So, no, 'bar boozehounds', the stakes had been far gone in the MCU before Phase 4 and 5 came along! Most people were just not paying close attention then!

Perhaps I'm somehow off-base here, as I happily acknowledge I can no longer recall the specific comment they made to which you ladies are referring, but.....I dunno, kinda seems like you're acting like someone is putting a gun to the head of young women and demanding they wear high heels 😅. Again, maybe their comment was a bit crude or misunderstanding somehow, but I dunno, I don't really see the problem tbh. No pain, no gain *shrug*. Guys go through plenty of physical pain working out a bunch when they want to be physically attractive, or through taking on dangerous jobs that women won't take, etc -to make themselves more appealing to the opposite sex. I have NO doubt that it causes a lot of pain, and probably isn't the sort of thing that should be done constantly lest unacceptable long-term injury occur.........but I can also say, as a straight man, that heels do a PHENOMENAL job of drawing a man's gaze to how in shape a woman's legs and perhaps butt are, and that's not going to change, it's just a function of how we're wired (to look for fit healthy bodies in our mates) and a function of how well high heels do their job of accentuating those features. It's always gonna be a draw, and there's always gonna be that woman or women that are competitively invested enough in finding the best possible partner that they're willing to put themselves through that pain. At which point, it is, again, not men somehow coercing y'all into wearing heels, it's women simply deciding to do so because it provides competitive advantage *shrug*. Look, I'd honestly love to apologize for the fact that I, as a man, find heels generally pretty attractive -really I would, because I wish no pain on any young woman......but to what reasonable end? It would be apologizing for a basic instinct I had no choice in, nor which is singular to only my gender. Women are programmed to find certain things attractive in men, fair or not, and vice versa. Like I said, no one is putting a gun to any woman's head on the matter, men are just attracted to healthy potential mates (how crazy lol), and that device happens to be very successful at putting a woman's figure/health on display. Perhaps the comment that prompted this response WAS somehow tasteless, I dunno, but......based on your response, it kinda feels like you maybe have a bit of a chip on your shoulder lol. I remember when the road went both ways: women expected tons from us, and we got to expect a little back in return, now here we are in the "modern" more bigoted age where women can still expect all the same things from men, but the moment we have any expectations based on what is good for us, the moment we're evil and all plotting against women lol. Just like with make-up: as if men foisted that on women, rather than women using it to basically be lazy and "cheat" at being more attractive than they actually are lol. I'm not saying we don't accidentally torture each other (the 2 genders) sometimes in the course of trying to preserve the survival of our own genes lol -that sucks and I really do hope we can minimize it, but I am saying that I think your response about heels is a little overblown. No one is forcing women to wear them, just like no one is forcing women to wear make up -each one has a functioning brain and limbs and can decide for herself how competitive she wishes to be or not be in finding the mate she wants * shrug * seems as simple as that, to me.

I can never see myself deliberately killing someone, but in Man of Steel, the scenario was quite simple: Snap the neck of this genocidal monster *now* or he will kill multiple innocent people. With such a stark choice, I didn’t blame Superman in that moment. If it’s controversial, the issue would be the director framing the situation that way.

i have to say you are wrong about game of thrones. it's full of rape, daenerys and drogo's love was built on rape lol, people didn't really complain about that or most other instances. the problem people had with sansa being raped and jaime being rapey with cersei is because neither of those were in the books and for some it seemed like it was unnecessarily tarnishing jaime's character after a long arc of redemption. and regarding sansa i think people didn't like how she had to be raped for the sake of character development. honestly i kinda agree that it's an examplel of tasteless and poor writing of dan and dave, two guys who aren't particularly smart. with most of her family dead and her being repeatedly mentally tortured, abused and threatened sansa has undoubtedly been through enough as it is to mature and wise up and leave the annoying girl she used to be behind and grow into a strong woman without a rape experience that isn't even canonical

Interesting take, that the controversial choice for kal was killing zod.. I agree, it was odd to see superman kill ANYBODY... Because if he was willing to kill zod for how he acted and the fact that zod wouldn't stop... Why hasn't he killed Luthor? Luthor has proven that while a human, he CAN create BIG problems for earth and he will NEVER stop trying, he CAN'T for some reason... The only way he's EVER going to NOT be a threat to the planet, is when he's dead.... So.... Um.. If he killed zod.. Then brainiac, Luthor and Darkseid? UM... They should be on the "chopping block". Superheros will ALWAYS be beyond trends... Superman is like Hercules... or Persius or Jason and the Argonauts.. Superheros will always TRANSCEND any trends or time... It's in the "lizard brain" of humans... But right now, with what Hollyweird is doing? The CURRENT writing WILL "burn out"... Simply because they are trying to "tack on" today's values... Which ties it ONLY to NOW... Which WILL "fade away" in the face of time. The "characters" are timeless... The current stories? Will NOT pass down from generation to generation...

2:07:00 - AC2 had a glitch in the AI missions whereby an enemy mech with no radar still knew exactly where you were on the map, whether it could see you or not. As a result, I exploited an aspect dealing with out-of-bounds. In one ruined city map, there was one very tall building right up against the OOB line. You could stand in the OOB zone (hearing the warning alarm not to go farther out the whole time), and peek out just to get missile lock. Once you had it, you could launch the vertical missiles and rain death on the enemy. Best of all, they couldn't line up a shot on you because to do so meant they entered the warning zone, and the AI would override everything to get back in-bounds. Hey. They cheat, I cheat!
