Brian, so impressed that you fired up the SSB radio and found some weather information. You are so resourceful and as a Captain you are second to none in looking out for the safety of your crew.

Ohh I think Brian has the uncanny ability to uplift, cherish an instil confidence in others so that they discover all they can be. He is a very nurturing leader and will be an awesome dad when the time comes. I think he really sets the vibes on this vessel. Good on them all.

OK... This video does it. I've enjoyed so much your story thru the years with all the crew members and sailing friends and family but this video cements it. Lisa is by far the the richest and most adorable crew member thru Delos's years and hard not to feel an affection for her. Her little talk while on watch was ever so honest and moving that it almost made me tear up. Her impish and ever so cute looks and her so genuine and appealing nature shined in this episode. I'm an older fellow but it's hard not for me to imagine my younger and handsome self (Or at least so I was told!) gleefully meeting and falling for a Lisa! Lisa made this video a favorite!

Melvin Curtice you are right, Lisa is pretty awesome....her night watch speech was inspirational...& she is a cutie too....I was hoping to see a good Milky Way picture....but I realize that’s almost impossible on a moving boat...it was worth the try though...

I have to agree with everyone. Lisa's reactions from her 1st dive to her middle of the night declaration made her my favorite crew mate. She appreciates the opportunity to be on the Delos and all the "gifts" (good & bad) that come with it. My hats off to Brian too. Years on the oceans has made this guy a mechanical ninja. I dont want to leave the rest of the crew out, but suffice to say that I can really appreciate all the patience and kindness shown towards each other. It does show on the video.

Have spent 3/4 of a century on this blue marble and would give it all up to be part of what the crew on Delos have shown us. To just experience Lisa's description of a night watch mid-ocean under a clear sky and the Milkyway to me would be more than just magical

One of the BEST s/v Delos episodes EVER!!! Shows the essence of ocean sailing so well! Hand steering connects you with the conditions and the boat. Boat repair (like, when is there ever NO boat repair! LOL!), crew interaction, no distractions of land, and the STARS!!!! Felt so connected to this video. Cheers!

S. B., We all were with her via this beautiful video. Really, it is the journey on the sea that sailing is really all about. The quiet norm until something breaks (often in the middle of the night and then cascading into a chain of catastrophic events any one of which could have you abandoned ship if not noticed and dealt with properly and with all speed. BUT, the Captain and crew handle everything perfectly like a dance that they practiced a thousand times in their sleep and all is well as the morning sun breaks and they and their tiny ship all return to peace and thanking God for the beauty and peace of another great day and memories thereof. Ahhh it is the sea, the journey that is truly sailing with destinations more as replenishing points of interest.

Lisa, you have earned your way on/with Delos. For lack of a better term, you deserved to be there. It is extremely refreshing to hear and see you express your gratitude for the opportunity to experience DELOS and all she has to offer. Not that other folks that have walked in your deck shoes haven't felt the same way as you as I am sure they have but you have succeeded in communicating the feeling in a way no one before you has managed to do. The peacefulness that fills your heart is overwhelming. Congratulations on your epiphany!

OMG! Another amazing video. Well done Delos crew! Side notes: 1.) Great to see you using safety gear on your night watch. It's a good message for newer sailors, sets a good example for kids by making that aspect glamorous, and makes your videos less cringy because we all want you safe with no man overboard / lost at sea. 2.) Bry, great job on the SSB! 3.) Amazing picture at the end of the swirling stars. Truly a unique piece of art. 4.) Bry and Brades: awesome for us to see your calm, cool, collected synergy and sense of humor, gents! Totally wish I could be a part of that world for just a few days. You guys make life, and the life you lead, look beautiful even though there may be downs or lows. Well done on keeping the positive vibes, love, calm energy, and peace. To me, that's a true measure of the personal character every human on Earth should aspire to have in their own life.

i dont think i have ever heard a more gripping description of life affirmation via the physical world than by Lisa describing her midnight watch impressions. The emotional tight rope walk she experienced balancing between being emotionally overwhelmed and becoming one with boat, wind, water, stars and yet being able to describe it by voice and show the captured chaos of the stars via photo. More than poetry and more than prose usually alone, we have all felt it, idling in a car hearing a song that means everything or at sea, or on a mountain ridge that moment of clarity. Smile, cry, chest tight, full use of our powers along lines of excellence. well done Lisa and thank you kindly! something about this Delos crew, the mix,the openess, something, puts me right there feeling and seeing it all. These Delos Videos have a lot of heart. Inspiring. only footage i get moved to scribble a line about!

Delos Ep 166 for me, was the absolute best Delos video I've seen. It is a collection and the essence of what SV Delos has always been. Living your lives at your own speed while experiencing your goals and dreams as they come always pausing to appreciate something you may never witness again. From Elizabeth's hilarious british dry/dark/sarcastic at times humor, to Alex's setting the crew straight like an annoyed kindergarten teacher -- absolute gold every time and I am going to be so gutted when Elizabeth in particular has to leave the boat. The best show on KZbin, hands down. Though this season feels more rated G / PG-13 as opposed to previous rated X/R/M at times. ;) Very polished, but I really hope they don't lose that sea gypsy/pirate petina and fall into 'everything is awesomeeee' / instagram-land (Ya right. This episode of This ole' boat with special guest Lisa the riveter. I'm an armature astronomer and I find it hard dealing with a long exposure time and light wind, let alone the addition of the movement underneath me. You would need a gyro-mount to even offset the water movement. But could only imagine how beautiful the skies would be on a starlight night in the middle of the Atlantic and its view of the southern cross. Delightful.

Blue, let's have a chat about jinxing the wind.... ; ) Had to pause the video to go make cheesy toast to enjoy with you. Really liked when, at about 27:00, you showed us the sunset instead of telling us. Loved Lisa-Lisa's spaghetti stars photo. That's a keeper.

Agreed! I think the sailing experience is such a, "cave of wonders," to her it's tripping her sincere soul out and we're getting to see her nerve endings just firing off - a natural on camera. A great thing to behold.

This is your best video yet! The magic of passagemaking is something nonsailors will never feel. Here you show the magic of mundane and simple things. Nature is such a wonderful thing to experience in the raw! The satisfaction of small achievements as the boat makes its way is fulfilling and the bonds of a close knit crew are manifest! Thanks for this wonderful vicarious experience, one I have felt many times in the past but made real again here! Sail well! My advice....eat your flying fish!

As sad as this may sound, many of us cannot do what you all are doing. I have seen the world through your videos and while I dream of doing what you all do it likely will only be that. A dream! Please keep up the great work! I have seen every video you have published and they just keep getting better all the time! Thank you!

Just wanted to say this channel truly changed my life after watching for 3 years, last year I made the decision I'm going to do just this .sail the world . After just 1 year my life is entirely different , I live in the mountains (lol total opposite ) and work hard every day enjoying these cold winters so much now knowing i only have a few more of them left . Looking and taking everything around me in for how beautiful it really is not getting lost in the future but enjoying the journey towards the next step of my life . Thank you delos, you showed me a part of the world I've never seen and it's now manifested itself into dream that I cannot shake ! Much love from jasper Alberta canada -kaileb

If it were not for people like Delos, many others would not even think about the possibilities and what they CAN DO in their one very short life. I too love most of all seeing others being brought into this lifestyle (and as safely as possible of course because foremost you must survive the adventure). Now you can study many things you should know from how to handle fires to medical and other emergencies and navigation via Sextant, weather etc... Best of everything to you. Now you have a true dream which is the best starting point in life. Smooth sailing o---)

given all of the Delos videos I think this one is my favorite. It seems impossible to say that because you guys always tell a good story. I think you just captured the real deal really well. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
