Maybe I am just really emotional right now but this hit home. I have been struggling with my insecurities for a long time now. Don’t know know when they developed but they have stuck with me for years now, I don’t talk to anyone about them because I feel like it makes them seem more real in a way or I am just opening the ground for people to judge me so I deal with them by myself. But watching this video really made me feel a little better since I know I am not the only one that struggles with insecurities. Thank you for talking about things like these and opening up about your insecurities, I know it takes courage so thank you.💗🥺

I APPRECIATE YOU SO MUCH, you break barriers and make us feel so comfortable and accepted, you’re just amazing. Also, I am an extremely hairy person as well, I used to wear jeans and long sleeves in the dead of summer because I was so insecure about it when I was as young as 9 years old. I started shaving my arms when I was in middle school. I’m 23 now, still doing it, also never looked back. It’s whatever makes you feel more comfortable and confident!!!

It will get worse!" Its kinda getting annoying, i learned i was allergic to something called "propylene glycol" in french, its an ingredient ppl use for like shampoo, Moisturizer, creme, etc… so i cant put anything on my body

For everyone who has KP (Keratosis pilaris), you need to try "The Scrub Of Your Life" and "The righteous butter" from Soap & Glory! It is a game changer, within a couple weeks of use (using it about 3-4 days a week), the bumps on the back of my arms were basically gone!! Please try it! I did not think it would work, but trust me when I say it DOES!

So courageous! Yes, we may have insecurities, but they are apart of us. And you can't let it define you. I totally understand, I've had eczema from an infant and I'm 23 now, there's no cure (I've legit been in and out of dermatologist my whole life and struggling to a point where I've legit had to miss school because of focusing issues. All you can do is maintain it with the right diet (auto immune/anti-inflammatory), fragrant free, gentle, natural oat based moisturizers and soaps, as well as staying constantly hydrated. Laser light treatments work too to tone down the inflammation.

Hi Katy! I think you may find that cutting out gluten will really help your eczema. It's such an inflammatory foods and is directly related to many skin issues. I used to have eczema patches everywhere, too, and once I noticed the connection to gluten, they completely cleared up. I still let myself "indulge" sometimes, but it's been hugely helpful to know what my skin triggers are. Hoping this helps a little!

Hi Katy! I have really bad eczema also especially on my hands especially on my palms and fingers and it was soo bad especially since I moved to new york. I went to the derm and had a patch test done and it showed that I am allergic to a lot of materials in jewelry and a major cause was holding the rails in the subway!! I really recommend getting that done and seeing what's the cause of it. I have it on my chest too due to my necklaces etc.

I’ve dealt with eczema my whole life! Been bed ridden because of it. The biggest thing that has changed my skin was that I got my blood drawn to do a food allergy test. It has made the biggest difference!! my skin is so much better since I’ve taken out the main things that were on my severe reaction list, as well as gluten and dairy. Eczema is an auto immune disease, so you have to heal it from the inside out, it has everything to do with what you’re eating! ❤️❤️ hope this helps, eczema can be such a burden stay strong!

I have KP too on the back of my arms and side of my thighs. I started eating gluten free and dairy free and it has decreased a significant amount. It also has helped my skin overall and I’ve noticed less issues around my jawline (hormonal). Most inflammatory issues are gut related so id also suggest a good probiotic to help promote good gut bacteria.

I love this video and I love what you said about the “once I have” mentality. I live with a severe genetic illness and, when I got really sick in my late teens, I got stuck in that mentality SO much. Like “once my nausea is better, I’m going to do xyz” but I’ve realized that if I just sit here waiting for a cure, I’m going to waste my whole life. Life isn’t just the beginning and the end, you have to find a way to live in the middle where things aren’t so perfect and not 100% the way you want them to be. Once one problem is solved, we usually find another one so I’ve just been working hard at finding peace where I am. One thing that has really sold that for me is my weight. When I was healthier, I was a healthy weight but on the heavier side; I did sports and had big things and big muscles. Then, when I got sick, I lost a significant amount of weight. But losing all that weight didn’t help me love my body anymore. You get used to seeing what you see in the mirror and it quickly becomes your normal so I felt the same before and after the weight loss. What made a difference for me though was changing my self talk and being positive about my body. Even if you don’t believe the positive self talk at first like you may not actually love your body, but the more you say it and think it, the more your brain forms new pathways and makes it easier to think that thought. The more we think a certain thought, the more likely we are to keep thinking it. Overall, I deal with a lot of insercurities, I’m in a wheelchair, I have feeding tubes and iv lines sticking out of my body, I’m underweight, my skin is a mess of eczema, etc. but I’ve decided to love my body not despite it all but because of it all. All those little pieces that I like or dislike are part of me and the only way to love the full picture is to find love for all the pieces that build it 🖤

I literally searched up eczema insecurities because no one ever has the same problem as me.. I’m not even to insecure about many things and when I do I usually can move past it.. but my eczema and body hair are the worst. I don’t even care to much about the body hair but the eczema is everywhere plus I’m black so it’s just black and I have scars everywhere because of scratching and I’m so insecure about my skin and I missed events because I couldn’t cover up my whole body properly and I’ve failed gym because I didn’t wanna wear a bathing suit during the swimming unit and people assumed I just hate swimming. I try not to do to much stuff in gym because I get sweaty making me itchy causing me to get more scars. I don’t know why I’m venting right now sorry bye

Katy, it's good you found something to help with your eczema. You talk about getting to the root of the problem, but applying lotion to your skin is just a cover up solution that isn't fixing the actual root of the problem. Your skin's reaction is just the surface reaction to something you are putting inside of your body to cause the issue. If your microbiome is not in balance, thats an internal issue and a lotion or skin cream cannot fix that. That is the actual root of most problems like this (the internal cause is the root cause). If the fuel you put into your car is not good quality, your car will have issues. Same thing for your body. It would be good to see you address this, as it's really important to help others and knowledge in these situations is so powerful.

LushGlow Hi! Did you watch the entire segment on my eczema? I discuss dietary changes I’ve made as well as other things I’ve done beyond just using the cream. Additionally, I’ve eliminated dairy (with small slip ups here and there) and have noticed further improvement! I am aware lotion isn’t the sole cure, but it certainly has been a big contributor. Everyone’s body is so different and therefore different things cause improvement for each of us. thanks! xo

Wow... wow... I’m so beyond happy you made this video! This is why I love you and your whole channel and what you preach on here. I can definitely understand from where you are coming from. I now have a 2 year old son and before I was pregnant I was a health nut that would count calories, work out for hours in the gym and really watch very single little thing I ate to try and stay “fit”. After my pregnancy I had gained a lot of weight and as soon as I had the okay from my doctor I started to work out again to lose all the weight. I wanted to have the body I use to have before I was pregnant but slowly I started to realize that I had changed though out this whole process. Now I go to the gym to have some time to myself, be healthy and to “work on myself.”. But my perspective has shifted tremendously. Now I have more curves (after being pregnant), I have a few stretch marks and at first I was so embarrassed about them. Now, as you said I think of them as something positive. They might not be pretty to other but it taught me to really dig inside and love my body in a whole different level than before. With that being said, my son has eczema and I understand how difficult that can be. I feel some people don’t understand how challenging it can be to deal with that every day. Since my son was 3 weeks old he’s been dealing with eczema. It’s been such a tough obstacle to get though but things have gotten better as the years have gone by. He’s been to different Dermetologiest and we have finally found a routine that works best for his skin. But I remember crying so much for him because nothing would help and everything I would try would only make things worse or not help at all. But there are definitely ways to help it stay under control. I know (at least for my son) Vaseline helps tremendously! Applying it after his prescribed medication helps it seal it all in. Again, thank you so much for this very inspiring/beautiful video! 💓

Eczema on the back and shoulders/neck together are probably the worst places to have it, especially if it is really really bad. A couple months ago, it was the worst I ever had it. For weeks I couldnt sleep at night while working mon-fri and doing school. It was so bad. Not only the skin, but my mental was so tired from battling eczema every single day in the mornings, after showering, at night, and during sleep. The reason I say it is the worst place to have it, is because you can't sleep! I remember having mental breakdowns in the middle of the night simply because I couldnt lie down on my back while having exams and waking up at 6 to go to work. On top of dealing with a severe auto immune problems, I was getting 2 hours of sleep each night. It was probably the worst time of my life so far. I tried everything out there. Natural remedies, herbal medicine, ointments, diet change, life style changes, different creams lotions, and anything else you can think of. Eventually I went back to western medicine to see my dermatologist, and they put me on oral prednisone for 3-4 weeks with a taper off. The prednisone cleared everything. Took out all major inflammation. Since then, I have managed to maintain normal skin (but still dry skin of course) with very little breakouts which I just honestly just still continue to use ointments but extremely small doses (works for me). I get a small breakout maybe in certain hot spots every 2 weeks or so due to stress or reasons out of our control! Especially since we are still in the winter months. But the long term plan is to never use ointments or restrain from using which I believe I am headed in that direction now that I understand itch scratch cycles and doing my best to prevent breakouts and not letting it snowball! Slowly out growing eczema as im still young (20yo male).....hopefully cause like you said, it moves around your body over the years. I had it on my arms as a kid, legs too. As I gotten older it moved onto my torso and even on small parts of my face and fingers! hopefully it will be gone for good with everything that I do to fight it. I am hopeful.

You should check out the medical medium books or his website, he talks indepth about what causes eczema and how to fix it with an elimination diet, plant based food and supplements!

The Medical Medium gives totally unfounded, bogus "health advice" (with no health qualifications to back it up), based on his 'communications with spirits from the future', and pays people to leave fake positive Amazon reviews on his books. Please don't endorse this guy- if you have a health problem, go to someone who's qualified and knowledgeable enough to actually help.

@@evelynwilliams8746 I've had eczema myself and I've tried all the creams the doctor gave me, they helped at first but it would always come back worse than before. Healing with food is the answer and gets to the root cause. My skin has never been better now that I've incorporated more plant foods and supplements. If you check his instagram there are testimonies from real people who have cured their chronic diseases, yeah it might not be science, but it's helping thousands of people so why not give it a shot?
