Was opening those in 1984 and these are re-sealed because there is no way OPC would have been placing cards all on the same side back then it was all messed up upside down.Big red flag

Not to be THAT guy but those were Tony Esposito and not Phil. Tony was the Goalie and Phil the player. I love retro packs! It's scary though because wax packs are so easy to tamper with and reseal. That's the same reason I will only buy graded RCs from pre 1990. Too many reprints. So many dishonest people now days trying to scam a buck or two. Great video as usual, keep it up!

Vintage packs im not a fan, so easy to open and reseal. Reason I asked some people, they looked glued but that's how packs look when kept in a box and start to melt with the yellow mark

@@thecardcollector255 I agree, always best to get multiple opinions. The only time I bought a retro pack, it came from a card shop and a freshly opened box. It was this same year that you just opened. I bought from Bingham's, since you know the city I am from you may remember that card shop. I also used to frequent Rob's shop, In the Crease. Now we have hardly anything in that manner.

This was the year i was married and started as a hockey ref. I took the clinic on the south side. I retired 6 years ago as they got younger and i got older. But i look back on a long time every winter at many rinks calling the games. Memories i opened tons of this year i wish i had them all cheers i am 62 now

I will start this by saying I am no expert, but I think these packs were resealed because I watch a lot of vintage baseball breaks and I have many baseball wax packs. The gum sticks to and ruins cards. My 89-90 OPC hockey box has gum sticking to the cards with no movement. But I am no expert, I just think paper loss should be very apparent from a pack this old because the gum should tear paper and then crumble, not just break into pieces.

Thanks for the comment. These packs were shipped in a bubble mailer to me So who knows if the gum broke then. Vintage is very card to find out unless someone points it out. But I hope u enjoyed the video

Also if you see all the other 83/84 opc opening on youtube, the front of the card is showing when opening the pack and the gum in the back of the card not in the front like this video...Who ever resealed this didn't even do it justice!

You only paid 40 Canadian for 4 packs? WOW, that's a great deal.... I don't have much in the way of 83-84 OPC hockey, tho I do have the Gretzky, a few Gretzky leader cards, Bourque, "Steve Larmer" uncorrected error RC (Steve Ludzik) and the Bellows RC and a few others... It's an interesting set to say the least considering it was a "stand alone" just like 82-83 in hockey with no Topps those years.

I have seen 2 other youtube video opening of the 1983 84 opc packs and the other times the cards face the opening...in this video the cards back are seen when opening????
