"Hope Leaves" In the corner beside my window There hangs a lonely photograph There is no reason I'd never notice A memory that could hold me back There is a wound that's always bleeding There is a road I'm always walking And I know you'll never return to this place Gone through days without talking There is a comfort in silence So used to losing all ambition Struggling to maintain what's left There is a wound that's always bleeding There is a road I'm always walking And I know you'll never return to this place Once undone, there is only smoke Burning in my eyes to blind To cover up what really happened Force the darkness unto me There is a wound that's always bleeding There is a road I'm always walking And I know you'll never return to this place.

Opeth’s music isn’t separated in heavy and soft. Even their heaviest songs have soft sections, and heavy music isn’t less beautiful, emotional and poetic that soft music. To write an album like this one takes an artist...but to actually write this album from "leftover" parts from a previous full length album takes talent beyond talent. Peter Lindgren said during the recording of deliverance that someone suggested making another album or a B-side since there were alot of mellow parts leftover and they didn't know what to do with them.... hence the legendary Damnation album.
@felidiazbo6 жыл бұрын
They weren't b-sides, they originally wanted to make Deliverance and Damnation a double album from the start, but the record label didn't let them do that for a number of reasons.
