@@crystala673 I'm not a medic, but have had far too long of experience with methadone &c That 110mg > 90mg is too big a jump..If it is feeling uncomfy now, after a day, I'd expect it to get a bit worse over a few days. Cutting down is wise, if that's what YOU want, but do little drops definitely not ones that are like nearly 20%! However, people's body chemistry is variable.. some people can do big drops , but generally ''low and slow'' is how I like it...and a drop of 20mg is too big. You don't want to give your body a ''shock''. Good luck!

@@Oakleaf700 thank you! I wish i had the money to go to a facility where they put you to sleep for 3 day. And then day 2 3 and 4 give you ketamine so youre comfortable. I dont know if this treatment has a specific name but it is out there! They push the opiates out of your system so fast but youre asleep so you wake up clean. Its nuts how if you have $$$$ you can do it that way. Im at the clinic now. Still on 110. 90mg was to big of a jump i couldnt do it. I need to do it much sloooower lol. Im going to research and reach out to others also because anyone i ask at the clinic basically does not give me any advice because they dont know or arent interested in getting off.

@@alexmurphree2980I'm on day 13 of coming off a bup dose of 24mg. I missed my chemist on a bank holiday weekend and because I missed 3 daily doses I had to go back to my clinic to start titration again. I was sitting in the waiting room waiting going through withdrawals and I had an epithany. I just thought " what the he'll are you doing " " now is the best time to stop as you're already withdrawing" I just decided I'd had enough and decided to go cold turkey. I stood up thanked the receptionist for the long wait which to be honest turned out to be a bit of an omen. The first few days where easy but then it kicked in. The worst thing for me was the electric feet. Every 10 seconds a feeling of pure energy flowing through my hands and feet it was very uncountable and prevented me from sleeping all I got was twilight sleep a couple of minutes at a time after about 8 days I started hallucinating and feeling tactile hallucinations which was awful but, I found the mental strenth and courage to keep going even though I could've went back on my script at anytime I wanted. This is day 13 now I slept last night and the day before having some very vivid dreams which I remember which I've never experienced for 14 years due to methadone 120 mg daily. Today I woke up feeling great day 13 I slept last night for 9 hours all I feel like is I have a bad cold nothing else and I know this will end within the next 2 days. I won't ever use opioids again ive just had enough and sitting in that waiting room surrounded by people tweaking and complaining it just helped me find the mental strenth to say no enough enough and I walked out. I managed to get off subbys in 2012 6mg and that was harder than me coming off 24 mg which is weird I think the brain chemistry has muscle memory and feels what you put it through. I woke up this morning feeling great and refreshed I feel good I said tobmyself I had the spanish flu when I was 18 or 19 and that was 1000 times worse than any withdrawal so I think mentally that's how I've coped with the withdrawal. 24 mg bup is a big dose to go cold turkey on but I'd just had enough im 47 and have been on a maintenance dose of methadone for 14 years which turned me into a lazy, dishonest with myself little boy. Now I feel great I learned how to embrace the pain through breathing exercises and chilling out. Now I feel good. No more will I put myself back into that lifestyle I'm better than that.

That is where I went back to Tramadol 3 years ago after months of being off it. I could not ever get the energy back and I always thought about how much energy I had being on it. I remember going to Vegas with the family and I had no energy to keep up with my family with all the walking. Then I started a new job that was demanding physically and it wore me out just to climb the stairs to clock in. I was even taking naps at work and yet it's been months since I got off Tramadol. So, I started taking Tramadol again and I felt completely normal! I can work all day and not break a sweat! And then, after a couple more pills, I have energy to play with the kids after! I slept great, wasnt moody, felt like I was in my 20's at work lifting 80 lbs bags of concrete. Then, I realized it was leading me down a road I'm afraid of, one that I shouldn't be on in the first place. Last Thursday my wife loaded the kids in the car to see family for 2 weeks. Once she was down the road, I called my work to tell them I quit. I locked the doors at home and hunkered in for the withdrawals. It's day 3.

I have been an opioid addict since around 2008. Codiene withdrawal usually starts the day after stopping and also feels very similar to heroin withdrawal but not as severe. You get the hot and cold flushes, adrenaline surges, anxiety attacks and lower back pain. Heroin withdrawal is similar to Codiene but I found that I felt a lot of fear and everything felt scary. Both usually last around 5 to 7 days. Bupronorphine was absolute hell for me. The withdrawal didn't start until day 4 and then I felt the withdrawal for 2 weeks. Similar to heroin and Codiene but the pain, anxiety and panic attacks were much worse. Each person is different. It depends on how sensitive your body is to the opioid. Let me tell you, there is no easy way to get through withdrawal. You just have to keep telling yourself that you will not die and that you will get better. It is doable but I certainly understand why some people cannot go through it and then relapse. One day they will get the strength to go through with it as you really do get fed up with taking the drug.

Here's my expert take. First about 24 hours after last dose (if heavy user) you start yawning. Eyes watering. Within 12 hours after that your shit stops being solid. That's when the fun starts. Then irregular body temperature, and good luck trying to sleep for the next 3 days, maybe a few hours from pure exhaustion. You'll feel cold, but don't even think about about putting that blanket on, cause then you're gonna sweat. Worst part for me comes after 48 hours... the restless leg syndrome, you're gonna wanna cut your legs off, especially when you try to be still to rest. You're not gonna eat. Some people throw up/dry heave, I never did. 72 hours symptoms peak hard, then taper off over the next 3 to 4 days. Habitual cravings go away after 2 weeks. Intense depression and anxiety the 3-6 months, along with with a heavy addictive inner voice. After 6 months of this, it tapers off over the next 6 months. Stress triggered cravings start to taper off after a year or so. After two years the depression and anxiety are very minimal, along with the addictive voice. Cravings still come under times of extreme duress, yet are manageable by yourself usually without support or having to call a sponsor. I was on opioids and homeless for 6 years. At my peak I would ask for fentanyl by name because herion didn't cut it. I'm 2 years clean in a month. If you got this far, and are struggling, there is hope. You CAN do it. You WILL do it when you're ready. Don't let the guilt drag you back. Noone is a bad person, just good people having a bad day. One day at a time. Open pms for anyone wanting to talk about it I'll reply. Stay safe out there.

Prescribed by doc still to present day. Want to stop this bullshit. Thought it would take only 2 months of withdrawals apparently I’m wrong. I’m in my 9th day. Anyway I can’t do this shit. The legs, the irritability, insomnia, diarrhea, hot then cold, can’t sit still……ahhhhh I can’t. I’ve tried to quit maybe 2 dozen times. My life hasn’t allowed me to be non-functional. So I fail after 5-7 days. numb my brain with alcohol? I can’t be drunk for a year. Tried THC gummies but “fuck” that was expensive. All my attempts were friend advised. Non has worked. I felt helpless. So another friend was also a Norco consumer. He now has beat it. I asked how? and he said just smoke a little meth every time you start feeling like shit. Not to much. Just 2-3 hits 4-5 times a day. I said you are just replacing one for another? Meth withdrawals only last a few days and they are much easier to deal with. So I took it into consideration because he knows I played with meth for 30 years. I do it for 7-8 months then just stop doing it for years. Longest stretch was 13 years without. Shortest was about 10 months. I AM NOT GLORIFYING METH, giving you my personal experiences. I can drop the meth much easier than the norcos. So here I am day number 9 and feeling much better then all those other days without anything. I wish I could have done it on my own but I just couldn’t. I’ve beaten other things like drinking and smoking cigarettes, and I’m still going strong without those 2 to this day. But this Norco shit, I can’t get a handle on it. so in my definite desire to kick the pills, I’m willing to do this. My symptoms? Well, not irritable, no restless legs, mild to no diarrhea. Insomnia well that’s a wash. Both meth and Norco withdrawals interfere with sleep. I function well. Still doing my thing. I entered this experiment with the mindset of wanting to kick the Norcos.. Not party, get high, have fun tweaking with my friends. I will say this, I’m doing well at this time. My girl doesn’t like this but accepts it and stands behind me. She is actually the reason if I succeed. If you consume just enough to stop symptoms, you’ll be near normal and feel ok during this weaning period. Probably won’t work for most because they just can’t stop. I was a functioning user for years. Never lost my good job or my family. Never sold my families things. My record is clean. No drug charges.Reason, strict disciplineI and never carried it on me or in my vehicle. Had a setup at work and shed/workshop in backyard. Never in house or in vehicle. Sure occasionally it had to be transported in vehicle. Had an open bottom empty spray paint can in back of pickup. Along with 10-12 other empties. So, cops pulls me over and sees nothing. Even during a search. Sounds A bit Braggadocious I know. Maybe a bit but my point is, this method seems to be working for me at this time. Merry Christmas hope all is well you.

Was on heroin from 20-25 years old until I got becrotizing faccitis and almost lost my leg. The hospital put me immediately on methadone so I wouldn’t die after 2 surgeries from them cutting the NF out of my leg. I was on methadone for 7 years, then I got on Suboxone for 16 years, and I just started sublicade shot a few days ago. I tried withdrawing about 12 times during different times in my life since I was 25 and stopped using heroin. I never relapsed, but her I am, 48 years old, more than half my life trying to quit in general. It’s a lifelong struggle. All those substitutes did save my life and I have been clean for almost 25 years. I was able to have 2 beautiful and healthy kids on Suboxone and they had no withdrawal symptoms at all from that. I wish everyone here the best. It’s the hardest thing I have ever dealt with in my life. Praying for us all 🙏

The psychological aspect of opioid withdrawal is just as awful as the physical symptoms (this is why healthcare professionals often describe withdrawal as just a bad flu, they’ve never been through it). Aside from a persistent racing heart, and panic attack symptoms, everything takes on this creepy, emotional feeling. Little things like hearing the birds outside my window, and the sunlight shining in used to sicken me for some reason. I also would buy bottles of generic loperamide (48 pills each) & swallow 2 full bottles trying to bypass the brain blood barrier membrane. It halted my symptoms, but also made me incredibly nauseous, and has killed a lot of people (effects your heart rhythm). Withdrawal taught me just how much of who we think we are is based on chemical signals (sleep, appetite, emotions, anxiety, sex drive….).

I had to be on morphine for several months. Withdrawing was absolute hell. I've never felt so awful even during sepsis from a surgery. The nhs suggests 10% reduction every 2 weeks. A small dose benzodiazepines during initial new withdrawal, anti nausea and sleep aid if needed. Melatonin is working for me. Since I didn't stop cold turkey and did this protocol I dropped down over 50% of usage within 2 weeks. They were shocked. It was painless really and I'm able to reduce more each week. I'm very lucky in that this doesn't give me any reward, I don't particularly like it other than pain relief but I'm ok now, so just ready to be off! Your description is so spot on.

@@becky2235 you can't in the United Kingdom. It's prescription only and I don't know about men but I do know my GP here said she can't prescribe it until I'm 55. It has something to do with fertility. I'm American living in UK. I'm doing ok. I'm down to about 10ml (20mg) a day and can make it 24 hours. You can buy melatonin all day long in the USA. I've never been able to buy it here and have been in England for 25 years in and off. It's weird, and it makes no sense because she she didn't ask whether I'd been through menopause and I have. I'm 53. I didn't know why she wouldn't prescribe it. The fertility thing is the only reason I can see why it isn't available otc. But codeine is. Packs of 32 12 mgs. Make it make sense. No to the withdrawal. If I still feel it I stay until I don't. They give me a bottle of 500ml liquid every few weeks. They aren't as supportive as I'd like, but it's the nhs. Medical history is good. I developed sepsis within 24 hrs of a surgery. An internal staple came loose and I was leaking into my gut not unlike peritonitis. I had another surgery and stayed in the hospital a week or so in oxygen pump. Came home with noting and just couldn't get better. Went in to A&E (ER) with what I thought was kidney infection. They did a chest X-ray and gave me antibiotics. Fast forward another month (3 post sepsis surgery) and I'm srill feeling awful. Nauseated, no energy, then 103 F fever tachy and low oxygen. Turns out the sepsis caused abscesses on my liver. Largest was 7.5 cm. Needed a liver drain and was very close to organ failure and not making it. I was in hospital for a month, on antibiotics for almost a year and needed pain relief for about a year. The rest is weaning.

My brother is 56 yrs old and was on methadone most of his life. When he went to jail it took him months before he actually felt better. He didn't sleep for a month .When he got out 8 months later still nervous, anixtey restless etc.. Ended back on methadone also ended back in prison but tbi3s time on the suboxone program in prison. Some people nerves are so messed up they can't live a normal life without some kind of substance to relieve his pain. In my brother case he'll be on methadone when he gets out bc he needs it. 30 years of being a heroin addict. Pray this time he stays away from Xanax & alcohol which led him back in prison bc the mixture of all three are very dangerous.

Opiates mess up your nervous system beyond repair sometimes. When I kick a oxycodone habit it takes me a good 2 months to get my nerves back. I’m still young and healthy though, that plays a huge role. If I was almost 60 and had to go through methadone detox by choice I would never do it. What’s the point?! A lot of people take methadone and live normal regular lives. It’s sad but better than suffering and spending years trying to recover when most likely you will relapse again because it’s just that bad.

I remember watching every video on opiate withdrawal when I was prepping myself to get off suboxone. After 15 years of opiate addiction, I've been clean since April 10 2022. Well over a year has passed. Paws was a real thing. Diet, work, exercise and the right suppliments got me through it. There is hope. You can do it.

Tell me more.....I've been addicted for 15 years. Not been on subs though. I've tried many times to quit but can't get passed day 5 without caving. I've got a new job so I can't take time off and no sleep, diarrhea and being THAT uncomfortable just makes it impossible. How the heck did you do it? Do you feel normal now? So many say you never feel normal again which scares me on top of the withdrawal
@jaycomayco Жыл бұрын
P.S. I also am constantly watching withdrawal videos. Reading comments and praying for help and advice.
@crixusthenorman1603 Жыл бұрын
@jaycomayco I hear you and feel your pain. It wasn't easy. My methods may not work for everyone. You have to cut your dose down as low as possible. I jumped off at around .5 mg. It doesn't really even matter what dose upu jump off at. You have to be prepared to suffer for a little while. Acute withdrawal lasted for weeks. Paws for months. I was able to take time off as I'm self-employed and don't have kids yet. I can tell you what helped me as far as suppliments and meds. Clonadine was prescribed for withdrawal. Mega dose vitamin C either ascorbic acid or lyposomal. DLPA NAC Sam E Active B vitamins Low dose melatonin or trazadone for sleep. Sleep is huge. Tou must eat a lot of protein and get as many amino acids as possible. Pro biotics for stomach issues, which you will have no doubt Use stuff for diarrhea because you have to keep this stuff in and not let it all out, which will dehydrate you. CBD and / or THC depending on whether you smoke or not. If not, at least use CBD for homeostasis. I used mushrooms too. They actually helped me greatly for depression and to bring me back to the place I was before I ever got caught up with opiates in the first place. Find that center or place deep inside where that small flame is that was once you. Whoever or whatever that was. I know this might sound strange but you really have to dig deep. Find support. I promise you that if you follow this protocol or something like it that works for you, then you will heal, and yes, you can get back to normal. Keep your expectations low and push through. Every day brings you closer to where you want to be. Get past the first few weeks. Get the help you need and get all the things you need. There are also research chemicals and peptides I used. Cerebrolysin NSI 189 Dihexa 9 me bc Ipomorelin Bpc 157. Not saying you need all this stuff but I used them at different times for different reasons. You can find all you need on YT just like I did. I wanted off bad enough and I did my homework then put in the work. You asked for more, and so here it is. Take your time and find what works. At the very least, start with where I started and go from there Suppliments, meds, peptides and anything else that helps. Now I'm working on getting off vyvanse just over a year later and I will do it. Just couldn't do it all at once. Don't put too much pressure on yourself but believe me, it is more than possible. I started with perks in 2006 and ended with suboxone in 2022. Far too long. I wish you the best!

I agree and he's not trying to sell Suboxone or methadone to people either to line his pockets with kickbacks he goes through the pros and cons of using them but leaves it up to the patient to what's best for you for myself I feel that we're coming up to a time in our society and in a world where being addicted to anything that we need on a day-to-day basis is not going to be a great idea whether it's methadone Suboxone or illicit substances. For myself I think the key is learning to teach your brain how to once again manufacture your own endorphins Endo-means inner orphins-morphine. The only reason we can get addicted to opiates in the first place is because we have the receptors in our brains our brains are made in such a way that we need opiates to help with pain and also emotional pain there are many ways to help our brains learn how to manufacture those things again, and some are better than others! I think it's a good idea for all of us to find out what we can do to help speed up this process because that's one thing that will help in the Post Acute withdrawal phase. Many of these things are free just behavioral and lifestyle changes for instance the foods we eat and activities such as listening to music or going for walks in nature or meditation or yoga many things can help with our endorphins levels being raised our brains will become lazy because we've just fed them opiates for so long now they have to learn how to make their own again and it can be a difficult process and during that time that's when we're going to feel more pain and we're going to feel more emotional pain or going to feel irritable and angry and depressed. But if we realize it's because of an imbalance in our brain chemistry and there's things that we can do to exacerbate and help speed up the process of our brains relearning to manufacture these things it really helps with our motivational process as well. When we realize that our brains are on a new learning curve we can be a little bit more patient with ourselves and with the process and realize that we will get better it's just a matter of time and it does take time there is a Post Acute withdrawal phase with every detox and when I was coming off crack my doctor told me '700 days ! you might as well just hunker down and start counting the days because that's what it's going to take 700 days!' which basically is 2 years and he was right I was still having using dreams after a year and a half. I think I would have given up long before that time was up if he hadn't told me that it seems like an awful thing to tell someone , oh hey , by the way, you're not going to be better for two whole years! but for myself it really helped me hang in there and put in the time so ... yay me! LOL

@@spencerfournier2030 There is a thing called PAWS. post acute withdrawal syndrome. It can happen if a person has been on heavy opiates for years like me. Yes, it can last a year or more but it's very rare. If you tapered as you say, you should only be uncomfortable for about a week then you should start to feel better. If you are still having the hots n colds after a week then you probably tapered a lil too fast. Ppl don't realize it takes a long time to ween from any opiate. I use comfort meds which are Neurontin (Gabbipentin),. For energy and helps with muscle discomfort. I get a bottle of benzos (Xanax) preferably, for anxiety and sleeping. And lots n lots of weed. I basically quit cold Turkey. The first 5 - 7 days were absolute hell. I’ve been off them for about two weeks or so now with a few lapses as the withdrawals were so intense. Every 3 - 4 days I would slightly relapse and pop some pills. Anyway - the major part is over. I can sleep again for the most part and I don’t feel irritated, RLS is gone, but I still get headaches, sleepiness, and digestive issues. The worst part however, which I didn’t even know was going to happen, is the over-all feelings of sadness and depression. I’m still just crying for no reason and my head is a mess. The physical symptoms have more or less dissipated but the mental issues linger and it’s actually really hard, but I’m getting there. Opioid withdrawals are absolutely hell for the first week. I’ve never felt so terrible in my life. But I’m glad I’ve gotten through the worst of it. I was also addicted to Benzos and was a heavy user (legally) which I actually stopped taking cold Turkey months ago. So I don’t know if it’s a double whammy of PAWS. But I feel pretty fucked up. God it’s hard. But I’m getting better! Good video and thank you.

My oxygen was below 30, fever 103, heart rate was too low. They kept me in ICU five days. The doc said H withdrawal CAN KILL. My liver and kidneys were shutting down. Idk what book you read, but most of us started on prescriptions with a ton of acetaminophen which damages the liver. Detox exacerbates it. They code 3 me to the ER and said I would not have survived the night, as a direct result of unmedicated withdrawal. They talked me into trying methadone, it took 130 mgs to stabilize at 5'2/90 lbs. I think anyone who is planning to get off of opioids, or any other addiction, needs to have a clear plan of action not just for the detox part, but for the next year at least afterwards. Support, plans on what you're gonna do when stressors arise, how to reframe your mind to not look for relief from opioids when things go wrong but to have a replacement to help with those feeling, etc. Any addiction requires long term support and a brain reset in order to beat it permanently. You have to untrain your brain to look for that substance and reframe it to look for something else.

I really am inclined to think that withdrawal is PTSD forming due to the ridiculous cortisol/adrenaline dumping triggered by the brain/pituitary and the massive increase of epinephrine. Combine that with the already defective stress response of most addicts and you are basically throwing a ball up into sobriety only for gravity to pull you right back. The first person to combine an active treatment of epinephrine and cortisol suppression will have a lot more "recoveries" for life.

98 days clean from fentanyl ( everything) , not on any maintenance. . Leaving treatment center in 4 days. . Here's the crazy part. . .compared to the physical symptoms ( Wich was pure white hot agony) , that was the easy part compared to the psychological symptoms. . . The depression, anxiety. . . Everything he mentioned. . . For me, I couldn't sleep more than 3 hours a night for the first month, with or without sleep medicine. I, as a direct result of my opiate addiction, now need blood pressure, sleep, and liver medication. I , up to this point, have ruined my life. I am starting over from ground zero. Things DO get better. If you do the right thing, right things will come to you. It gets better. Easier. I promise. Stay safe everyone

I've been in pain management for 20 years. I lost my husband to covid in 2020, became the primary caregiver for my elderly parents and got very depressed. I've never abused my meds have always been in compliance. I checked myself into a mental hospital and was forced off my meds for 6 days. I checked out and was discharged back into the care of my pain doctor who put me back on my meds at a much lower dose. It has been painful and uncomfortable.

The real bad withdrawal for short acting fentanyl is only 5 days. By day 3 you feel a little better it all depends on your metabolism especially with fentanyl. I hate fentanyl but it's amazing for pain patients

Try weeks, into months of lethargy and sneezing at random for weeks after stopping. Mood up and down. Motivation destruction. Depression and anxiety are normal to feel. Whatever you do, never take more to get through the withdrawals. If your off, stay off!!

There’s no point in lying. I’m 29 now used for 2 years when I was 18. Just smoked. No needles. I have been in liquid handcuffs ever since. Over the last decade the only “dirty” UA was marijuana in the first year. I got to 100mg MMP held for the entire 10 years. Finally started taper, 5mg a month. I am at 55mg and doing just fine. Not a single withdrawal symptom. I wish the people who took program serious would be better taken care of in the program. I personally feel that they r happy I am on the meds my insurance pays and brush me under the rug. Good luck everyone on your journey. I promise do it for yourself! Never look back. Be who you were years before drugs. We all have a fighting chance.

I have been off 15mg oxycodone (which I had been on for a very long time) since May and am still experiencing occasional withdrawals. I only got off of it when I moved to a state that has medical marijuana for my pain, which I’m very thankful for (but am well aware that that also has issues with dependency). I can’t imagine having opioid withdrawals from an addiction - I took mine only when I needed it (which was very often, but I tend to have good days pain wise), as instructed, but still the withdrawals sucked. I tapered off of it over a couple months, but sometimes the anxiety and pain still kick in 5 months later.

Dr., I would love to hear you put out a video specifically on methadone withdrawal. I am almost 90 days out from cold turkey off of it, was on it for almost 14 years. Withdrawal from methadone is different as it is long acting, stays in your system longer, and the effects last longer. I am not saying heroin, other opiates/opioids withdrawal (benzos/alcohol as well), are not as bad bc it depends on the person. Doc, you can say that again with the PAWS. Getting the methadone out of your system is part of the battle ( I would NOT recommend anyone do this cold turkey, WEAN off if you can), the psychological symptoms can and do persist. I would love to hear what you recommend for treatment for PAWS.
@Josh-rn1em2 жыл бұрын
In the future use a different opiate to come off. I did and it's much easier. I used buprenorphine to come off methadone. But you would use methadone to come off buprenorphine. As long as it's short term. A month or 5 qeeka
@technicolorrose55492 жыл бұрын
@@Josh-rn1em hi, thanks for the reply, I was completely off methadone when I wrote that. I had quit cold turkey and stayed off for 4 months. However I began to have cravings in addition to the PAWS and so I got on Suboxone. I am on a very low dose, only 6 mg. Which I will stay at. Eventually I will wean off of this. I likely won't stay on it very long at all. Because I'm kind of having side effects from this now and I don't know if the benefits outweigh that. We shall see. I HAD to quit the way I did, due to the methadone clinic being so far away, having issues with them (they were overcharging me, they sent me a refund check 1 & 1/2 months after I left), money issues, lots of stuff. I'll never go back on that again.

@@technicolorrose5549 I was on 20mcg patches. I'm on day 20 off now after 3 years. It's great to sort your life out. But much more difficult to come off now. Not impossible as I'm proving. Just something to think about, it seems switching opiate makes it easier to come off. But if you need to be on it then it's great. Good luck man. It's bloody hard
@technicolorrose55492 жыл бұрын
@@Josh-rn1em hi there, u say 20 mcg patches, of what, Suboxone? I've never heard of patches. Are you in the United States? I suspect it's not going to be a cakewalk to get off this either (the Suboxone) but since I'll be weaning slowly when I do, I am hoping it won't be too difficult. Since I wrote my last comment I have gone back up to the 8mg I am actually prescribed. I started off w/ only 4, then moved to 6, then to 8. Going to try to move back to 6. You're right...it is hard. I found that before I got on the Suboxone it was hard as hell. I was having a hell of a hard time. I think I had just barely made it past 4 months off the methadone and was starting to feel hopeless & like I'd never get back on track again. I am finding now though I am feeling almost the same being on this than I was on methadone. Just kind of numb, tired all the time, etc. I don't know at this point how much longer I'll be on the Suboxone but hopefully not a long time. I don't want to be in it for more than a year. I'm hoping this will be easier to get off of esp. since I won't be going cold turkey like I had with methadone....that really put something on my body and mind. Best of luck to you in your journey...how are you feeling now?
@Josh-rn1em2 жыл бұрын
@@technicolorrose5549 norspan. It's for pain. Suboxone is a different formulation. Buprenorphine was a good stepping stone from the full agonist opiates like morphine etc. It is really easy using it short term to come off the morphine etc but too long it really is a long weaning process. It's also weird because no matter how little you get down to it's like you're coming off a higher amount. I used Ibogaine to fully come off. But gabbapentin really helped the restlessness and no sleeping. It's been almost two months off now. First month sucked but I'm so glad I just waited it out. It also makes people have depression and anxiety and I was nuts. All that'd gone now. I'm still lacking energy and need to really push myself but damn it's worth it.

Doctor cut me off all my meds. 4 years later and I still don't feel right. I was on pain meds for 21 years. Cut off I was on my own and suffered withdrawal symptoms for a year. @@delilahalpaca4793 This happens a lot. I am fortunate that after I failed with negative urine tests, my doctor sent my urine for confirmation. My meds showed up and I got to keep my meds. Now I am slow tapering to get my tolerance down. Even slow tolerance is miserable! I can't imagine being forced into cold turkey. Doctors that won't taper should be reported to the medical board.
