FYI there are tail-less USB-C female to DisplayPort male (or HDMI) adapters that can make this easy, and they also have USB-PD input that they forward to the laptop. The downside is they are only rated to 4k60 but I'm not sure if that's really a limit or just what usb-c was rated for at the time; I tend to think it's a pure electrical connection & not going to limit things more than what your laptop would do. I've had an oled tv as my main monitor for over two years now and it's been really great. I think people get too caught up on the gaming aspect when what they really want is more fidelity over speed. If you can afford it, oled is such a huge upgrade for content consumption followed by the resolution and the screen size .

one thing to note about the QD-OLED panels is that it can cause really bad eye strain. countless people, including me, have experienced this and have had to return the monitor for this reason
@Lanurus3 ай бұрын
How long did you use it? I have had one for about 3 weeks and it went away. It really intrigues me that some people can't get used to it.

I bought pg32ucdm before 4 days and i got same problem, my eyes got tired so quickly 😢
@Dugga_Official3 ай бұрын
All you had to do was adjust the settings in the monitor to alleviate that. I actually just got a hold of one of the qd oled asus monitors for cheap because someone returned it complained about eye pains and they wouldn't take it back so the guy left it and charge back on his card. The store manager didn't want to deal with it decided to sale it half off as an open box.

I just bought Gigabyte's version of the 32" 4K 240Hz OLED. It's great, but be prepared to be very annoyed at the text fringing if you use it for anything but games. It's very noticeable and almost made me return it. It applies to all the QD-OLED panels, so it doesn't matter which one you get.

Best gaming/tech youtuber easily. Probably the only person on this entire platform who's opinion I trust on these things. I used to like hardware unboxed but I just can't get over tim saying the text is better on the 4k qd oled's than w oleds, it's just mental imo. A 32 inch or UWQHD monitor that I can use in a bright room (Window at my back and I cannot avoid that - plus it needs to be open in hot humid summer for air) would be good to know. But all I hear about is OLED and W OLED .... latest, massively expensive and not great in s bright room. Any suggestions or is that old tech now

I got the LG coming from 540hz /360hz/ 4K 144hz. I can confirm that the LG is worth every penny It's like having 2 monitors in one. If u have a high-end PC & Money just buy it, it will take you a few days to get used to it due to the size but I ended up pushing it a bit further, and that worked for me. You can switch from 4K to 1080p mid-game with no issue unless u have a second monitor Sometimes ur game will switch to 2nd me monitor just saying

Optimum’s initial review of the LG 1440p 240hz OLED convinced me to buy it around Black Friday and I’m beyond happy with it. It’s the perfect blend for cinematic singeplayer games and competitive games. I don’t see I point in buying 240hz+ monitors when most games don’t even reach those frames. The value of it is amazing for premium the performance is for the dropping price. Definitely recommended for wanting an amazing monitor that’s not beyond overkill
@jakeman0253 ай бұрын
Well you just talked about competitive games…esports monitors are designed with the intent of having the lowest input lag and latency possible which incidentally means having the highest refresh rate. Besides the competitive advantage it gives you the best experience as well. Anywho that’d be the point of monitors with a 240hz+ refresh rate. Games like cs2 valorant cod Fortnite and many others run at over 240hz.

I got the LG OLED in January, least responsible financial decision i have made this year, but DAMN. It looks SO good. My expectations were high, but it delivered everything I expected and more. I was using UltraGear 27GP850-B (1440p 185hz IPS) which is pretty decent, but the oled blew just me away. Never going back to older technologies for my primary display. One thing worth researching before you buy however is the flickering issue with freesync/gsync, Im not sure about the newer generation, but you cannot really use variable refresh rate on the older LG models - the brightness noticeably flickers all the time. So even if the panel is g-sync compatible, you will have a bad time if you expect it to work flawlessly. I personally just turned it off all together.
