Kind of a cross between Porsche and the Mini Cooper. Exactly what you would expect given the German influence on the car - it shows! The Ora Funky Cat is equal in build to the VW ID4 and at $30,000 it handles like you’d anticipate with a premium sports car. Hi Nickie! This is not so much about the car, but some confusing statements, which is handled different by all the testers. Range is: 193, I guess that is a full battery driven to completely empty. I get that, but then we mix in the charging. 44 minutes from 15 to 80% you say. Some say 10 to 80%, some 20 to 80%, Why not use the same interval? And when you have charged like this, then what is the actual range? You only charged to 80% and always leave 15% in the battery, so I guess the range is 65% of the 193 = 125 miles. So shouldn't it be this figure (125) that is mentioned as the range? Because everybody tells, the first 10-20% and the last 20% is very slow charging and not good for the battery. Take good care of your car, charge only between 10 or 15 or 20% and up to 80%, then the 125 miles is the actual range! Isn't this a topic you could discuss inside your circles? Agree on using the same, all of you. And just a small complaint. As I know, England has accepted the metric system. That means kilometers, not miles. Why do you still continue with this old system? I know the Americans won't, They're lost, poor guys. I live in Sweden, they're also using the metric, except in the car industry. There they use MIL which is 10 km. The signs on the road says x km to a city, speed limit is x km, the tachometer(?) and the speedometer in the car says km, but the dealership can only talk about MIL. At least km and Swedish MIL is easier to calculate.
@HotYogaDoctor2 жыл бұрын
There is no problem to charge the car for the last 20% from 80 to 100 if you're not using a super fast charger. Charge to your heart's content at home or with slower chargers. The degradation is related to fast charging.

Those headlight still remind me of a VW Beetle rather than a Porsche. The car seems fine design wise and does look "funky". What I would like to see more of in such reviews, especially for cars from Chinese manufacturers, is more awareness about the personal data. That camera for facial recognition is a silly excuse for watching the driver and God knows where the video feed will go to. I mean, if the car is yours, why would you want it to remember your preferences? I'd simply tape the camera over.

I don’t think the Chinese is here to sell cheap car. They are here to make a statement that they can build something with quality and style. Like Xiaomi, Vivo, DJI…

Whole video is her saying it does all these "cool" things and then it failing to do them every time she mentions them. Seems like a great way to spend your money!

Recognition has to have tolerance, as you need to be able to look left and right. Tiredness recognition takes more than one data point. So it's clever enough to spot you aren't over any of the thresholds rather than dumb enough to be triggered by brief fakery.

how is it ID3/MG4 size but with a 200L boot? Seems the opposite of what you’d like from an EV - big but small inside. Range is ok for a second car but then the price isn’t. £32k is crazy, ‘first edition’ or not.

We’ll, it’s got a daft name and the brand is relatively unknown outside China.

Over price Chinese import . In Asia cost 17000. It doesn’t cost them by ship £15000 per car to ship a car to Europe
@NormanF622 жыл бұрын
The price difference is explained by the tougher European car safety standards the Ora Funky Cat has to meet which it doesn’t have to do in the Asian market. No wonder its priced higher in the UK.

Awesome EV. We would buy one instantly when it would come at a price that was comparable with China prices ($15.000) for the Ora. Not for the EU €36.000. I wonder where that double in price difference comes from. Cant be shipping only (Around €2.500 shipping) So it will be extra "China" tax to protect the European EV manufactors.

@@-V-K- Thanks for the info. I kinda knew i stayed on the very high side for shipping and handling. Your numbers are more accurate, and show what the governments are doing to protect their old car industry, and accept that they will be producing poluting ICE cars for many years to come.
