John I know its the wrong place to post. However I have just followed your butter making video. The butter tastes the best ever. 345 g butter and 1/2 pint of butter milk. Also cheaper than buying the butter, and you get two products. Thanks. I will be making the orange cake on Sunday.

We had a cow years ago and separated the cream from the milk with hand separator and made butter from the cream .Probably laws against processing your own milk now.

Hi John, I love your channel and you have a lovely voice calm, and I have made to date your 12 crusty buns about 6 times (family favourites) also your cheese scones and I must say what I love is not only how you explain clearly on your channel but your recipes when followed your ingredients wet or dry NEVER fail. I am so excited that I have a six month old extract from watching your extract videos. I have already been using my vanilla. I know they will be best at a year but it is so delicious. John we had to wait a day to go get some oranges. Today Sunday we made it. It turned out fantastic. .Licking my chops I devoured a small portion. Only for Home King and country. Herself said it was half. .To add more flavor. We played the song Orange blossom special while eating . FYI .due to the 2200 ft altitude took only few minutes longer to bake . The temp at 350 F. This is a keeper recipe. 👏. Told the neighbours, I was too busy to invite them over. .RIGHT pass the cake please .Cheers John . Thanks eh!

I will definitely try this recipe. I have made lots of your recipes including bread, muffins, scones and meat meals. I also made your vanilla extract and orange and lemon extract last November and they are both ready now. Everything I have baked/cooked has been perfect. Your dumplings are fantastic. I am still waiting for you to do the ham and egg plate pie that my mam used to make every Sunday for teatime. My husband (ex shipyard) says mine are not the same as hers so I was hoping that your version might tick the box!

I'm just down the road in Pallion, yes I've been doing a few trials on the ham n egg pie, definitely on the to do list, I remember my mams ham n egg plate pie back in the 60s, she used a fatty bacon in hers, wasn't too keen on it, but the ones we made at work were much better, but like I say it's on the list. A lot of my family worked in the yards, mainly JL. Thompsons in Roker, and Bartrams, on the dock, biggest shipbuilding town in the world at one time, all gone now. My brother Willie, worked on the tug boats, and sadly died on the wear tug "the Whitburn" March 1967 😢.

When I want a quick cake fix I make a basic cake but i cook it in the microwave in a bowl cover in cling film. The cake might not be as light and fluffy as yours but it is quick. I hadn't thought about pricking the cake and pouring liquid into it for extra flavour so I will be trying this

A common white. A garlic cheddar. A 50/50 wheat. Any or all of these I have soups for, but my efforts either fall flat (literally) or are very very dense and chewy. In the case of my failed garlic cheddar bowl, it also tasted nasty. Any help would be appreciated!!

My favourite cake growing up. My mother used to put an orange flavoured (zest and juice) butter icing in the middle and a hard sugar icing on the top and used candied orange slices on top for birthdays etc. (please don’t think I am criticising yours! It looks fantastic!). My other fond childhood memory was apple sponge and custard. I remember my brother’s favourite desert was rice pudding. Often she would make both to keep everybody happy. The joys of having a stay at home mum! 😊
