After a two-week trip to London, and some tasty pub meals, I searched for meat pie recipes, and followed this one. First with chicken, then with beef. The results were excellent. I'm an American living on the West Coast, so I just couldn't handle "Gravy Granules", whatever they may be. Sorry.

Can olive oil be substituted?

Olive oil has quite a strong taste and can over power the Mayonnaise. If you do try it let me know how it turned out.

Hi John, I made this butter yesterday and I made your bloomer loaf today. Just a couple of things. Can I put some olive oil in the butter to make it a bit more spreadable & do you have a recipe for raspberry jam. I may as well make my own jam as well. Thanks for the videos. I’d love to be able to sponsor your channel but unfortunately I am retired and don’t have any spare cash. Once again thanks for the videos they keep me sane in this mad world. 🤣👍👍

Trying this recipe today. This is the first recipe in a long while that is raising my blood pressure and challenging my confidence. My mixer is overwhelmed by this butter. It just keeps pasting everything to the side and the hook stops even touching the "dough." My spatula head keeps falling off when I try to scrape it. I just had to share. I am not quitting on it. That wouldn't be any fun. But I hope I can report back that I conquered it. 🤣

I've made these three times since you posted the video. Made dinner rolls, hotdog buns, hamburger buns and this last time made half as dinner rolls and half as a loaf bread. They are very soft when fresh and freeze well. If they are left out for a few days they dry and while still good, they pale vs day 1 bread. Great recipe. Thanks for posting this video John!

Turned out a bit smaller and a bit dense inside. After some research I think our flour might just need more water than in the recipe. Still tasted good though

Here I am, a year later and I just found this recipe. I love to cook and bake good things to eat. I have to avoid wheat and maize corn. So, I’m always looking for something interesting that I can adapt to my needs. I just realized, sitting here reading your recipe that everything is there for American style pancakes with the addition of yeast. I’m going to try this recipe using the gluten free pancake mix I have and see how it turns out. This is going to be fun

Hi John - I am an experienced sourdough baker, but usually work no more than 75% hydration. I recently starting experimenting with ciabatta bread at 80% hydration. I have turned out some proper ciabatta rolls but have not been happy with my shaping and size. This video showed some different ways to handle and shape the wet dough. I feel I my be getting over the next hurdle in my sourdough journey! Thank you!
