Superbes images.

Merci. 🙏💖🤗

I'm blown. That old lens is pretty doggone sharp!!! Amazed how the r7 locked on that osprey all through the reeds too. Thats crazy. Thanks again for the plug. Another $1 cheque is in the mail... these stamps are getting expensive 😁

Thank you - this old lens really works on this camera body. Not perfect, but I had fun with it. And, it is light!!! The AF works really well with this lens!!! 💖🤗🙏

Those portraits of the squirrel and the in flight shots of the osprey are magnificent, especially liked those that were your fav too:)) it might be an old lens but still capable of creating amazing images with it, the optics are still excellent! Awesome work as always Buddy!

Thank you Peter. It is an awesome lens - I like it a little better than the RF version. AND, I think it is better on the R7 than on the R5. I am really enjoying it on this body. I had to wait for that squirrel and it was worth it. Thank you Peter!! 🙏💖🤗

John huge thanks for this video! I got R7 and planning to change RF 100-400 to this EF 100-400. Going from F8 to F5.6 at 400mm should give me a lot more light when I need it.

Thank you, thank you!!! If you have the RF 100-400, keep shooting it and enjoy it. If you are going to spend money on a new RF lens, may I recommend the RF 100-500. My latest videos show what the two lenses can do on the R7 and even the R50!!! 🙏🤗💖

@@JonnyPink65 I mainly take photos at the end of the day and in poorer light, so light, light, light. The second thing is that the 100-500 is just stunning but expensive for amateur photography for me. Even consider switch from apsc to full frame :)

@@MAKSIKMAX88 If you are shooting the 100-400, it is a fantastic lens even in lower light and it is not that much as far as lenses go. And the ASP-C body does give you more reach. Using the way the camera develops the JPEGs is really good even at high ISO these days, and using Lightroom to develop the raw phots - even high ISO there is not a problem either. Stick with what you have. 🤗

Really, really nice images John! Great job with that combination. I love to take pictures of squirrels, one of my favorite subjects! The Osprey was great too. I expect next time to see you showing images of Ospreys, talons extended, at the point of impact with the water, just like Mark Smith does!😎 You always look like you’re having fun, which is so important, right? Great video, loved it! 👏👏

Bill - I wish I could get some photos like that - I guess I just have to sit there and keep trying, rent a 600mm Canon lens (planning on it), or rent a Sony A1 and 600mm Sony lens. I have tried and tried but never in the right place at the right time. They always seem to be on the other side of the lake. As far as squirrels, i shoot them when I can and this one was posing so nice for me!!! Thank you thank you Bill for always watching my stuff. I really am just going out there to have fun. It kills me (makes me laugh) when people talk about how bad this is, or that is, and why it will not work for..... what ever. I go out to have fun..... and I do!! Thank you Bill for letting me share. 🙏💖🤗

nice photos... Would this old lens work with a 2x teleconverter? to get that extra reach?
@JonnyPink65
@JonnyPink65 16 күн бұрын
It will "work" but I dont think you will be happy with the results. If you want more reach and are not worried about the zoom, the 600 F11 is a better route to go. I just did some videos with an R10 (also a crop body like the R7) and the 600 F11 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKLLqYiPirN8iJI That gives you 960mm of amazing reach. And if you want to spend more money for a better lens, the 100-500 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGHQendnfayDo5I is another great choice. For the money you will spend on the 2X, a different lens is better way to go. The images will be cleaner, sharper and the focus will be way faster on the R7!! 🙏💖🤗

Always amazing John. There is no perfect gear nor perfect photos... It's the one behind the camera. I agree with you I capture 100 photos but I can get 40 which are Presentable n that's the thrill of photography

Sean!!! Amen. I can not tell you how many times I go out, walk, and maybe shoot a couple of photos. Just the thrill of pushing the shutter button is exciting. I do have to admit that at times, certain cameras and lenses spark that excitement all over the again. The 90D was one that did that, the M50 and now the R7. Before that, it was my old Nikon D800. Thank you, thank you Sean!! 🙏💖🤗

@@JonnyPink65 you welcome John. Used to shoot with canon 250d and the rickety old 75-300mm which is not good sometimes. But each time I'd be excited for results knowing too well 75-300mm won't deliver much but sometimes it gave astounding shots and gives u more joy to shoot. I think we should appreciate the art, the grainy noise pictures that tells a story and creates memories

It works perfectly!!! My latest videos are comparing the Nikon D800 tot he R7 with this lens and and I have been using it quite a bit. I own the version one so that is what I use, but version two would be better. I will also say that I did not care for the RF version of this lens - my older V1 out performs it hands down - at least in my opinion and for me. 🙏❤🤗

I have same lens on a t7i cropped sensor and it's cloudy outside I zoomed to the tip of tree where eagle was sitting and couldn't get the quality that ubjust demonstrated. Could u explain if it's because I had a cloudy day or just my settings were wrong
@JonnyPink65
@JonnyPink65 11 ай бұрын
Sorry for the delay. It could be a couple of factors. It could be the lower light of a cloudy day, it could be the camera body as well. The R7 has a larger sensor and is a newer camera body. Hard to say. Could also be editing. I think that is one thing many overlook as well. 🙏💖🤗

I have the exact same rig. It all comes down to the balance between technical specs and economics. Would I love to have an R5 and an RF 100-500? I certainly would. But given as photography is a hobby for me and not a source of revenue, I can get by just fine with the adapted EF 100-400L V1 on the R7, which with crop factor functions as a 640mm f5.6. Not shabby at all. My lens performs best one stop down from wide open where sharpness is really good. So if light permits, that's where I'll shoot all day, reserving wide open for "emergencies", lol.
@JonnyPink65
@JonnyPink65 5 ай бұрын
It is an awesome set up for sure. If I may suggest, you try the RF 100-400. Not as fast but I think across the range, it is sharper and not too expensive. Images are comparable to the the 100-500. You will notice a marked performance increase with the newer lens on the newer body. 🙏🤗💖

Tim!!! This is such a crowded park, that the Osprey are not that afraid of people. I can not say that about the Kingfishers though. I have NEVER shot an amazing Osprey photo going into or coming out of the water - always in the wrong place, but I will keep trying and having fun. And on any given day, there are so many photographers out there - we all know each other. LOL Thank you Tim for letting me share. 🙏🤗💖
