Very helpful video, thanks! A video giving a rundown of these chips features in action would be very nice. You could make a video for each chip and put them all in a playlist. What is THE chip to have? What was the most popular modchip? I'm about to have a crack at a few Xboxes that I've had lying around forever and I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what chip I should look out for. ESPECIALLY since the only ones I can find for sale are those Aladdin XT PLUS2 chips and I don't like the lack of LCD screen support.

thanks jack, I did put a list of features on the left side, honestly there isn't much to say about each chip in my opinion. the best chips to have would be any chip with LCD support. but if I could pick 2 I would say either the Xecuter X3 or the Smartxx V3 are the best chips but iv never owned either one so lol.... yeah finding one will be kinda tough there was someone making his own modchip i believe its called Xblast not sure how far he got or if he is selling them but its worth a look if your in the market. aside from that just checking ebay and buy and sell areas in the right forums should find you the chip you desire good luck!

Did you noticed that price of OG Xbox's got higher? They were like 20€ but now it is very hard to find one for less than 80€

I bought one for 30euros last year. Search for "webuy", Xbox's are 20euros there. So they even went cheaper.

The red xecuter 3, are you sure the lcd pin descriptions are the right way round - seems different compared to the white one - when i did the lcd mod on the red one the chip had smoke come out of it

No I'm sorry I can't be for sure as I dont own an x3 chip. That happening to you of course makes me wonder. All I can say is i scoured the internet for information . But it is possible I made a mistake I hope I didn't (I did just install a lcd to smartxx v2 chip using my diagrams no problems) but I can never be for sure.

Recently bought a lot of OG xbox stuff and I clued was a SmartXX modchip and I've been looking for install instruction. Any idea how to tell which version it is?

the smartxx have a v1, v2 and a v3. v1 and two look the same the v2 is blue but it also came in orange. idk if that helps

very cool im jealous! i never find modchips in consoles lol.. yeah i didnt add any chip i couldnt find enough information on. heres what i can tell you about it. its a generation 3b. It was made by team Xodus same people made the Xenium chips which replaced the chamleon later, it retailed for $30 back then.the flash chip is 1mb. its basicly a mid grade chip. is it working?

I have a Xbox with a AppleX V chip, I can't find any info on it - what it is or how it is used? I want to double the RAM (Samsung) overclock the CPU over 1.3GHz (Seen some at 1.4) and SSD + FTP

Yeah, I couldn't find enough good information (or really any pictures) on those chips to add them to this guide. upgrading the RAM is no simple task, just make sure you have a compatible bios before you start and some soldering skills and patience. it's not overclocking its upgrading as far as the CPU is concerned. which I wouldn't waste my time with.. xbox games have to be patched to work on top of the sheer difficulty of performing that mod. I'm pretty sure only 1 or 2 people could successfully do it. if you want one those your best bet is to find someone who has one and buy it from them there are only a handful of them my guess there is no more then 10 but i dont know for sure. good luck!

Iv listed all it's hardware features on the smartxx V3 slide of this video. But yes you got one of the top of the line modchips with all the bells and whistles. What your asking is more software related. A modchips main goal is to run a custom bios. Which then allows homebrew that includes all your emulators media players ect.

I use the ind 5004 bios aka (5003.beta.feb-11-05). But the ind 5003 also works use the ones with 67 at the end if your using a big hard drive (500gig+) . I know the later xecuter bios also work but iv never used them so I'm unsure off the top of my head. I would also recommend connecting pins 6,7 and 10 On the DVD drive power cable (can easily be done on bottom side of mobo for cleanness) . This isn't needed. I literally just did it today on my Xbox and it seems to make the Xbox boot faster but this could be my imagination it's not much faster 2-3 seconds... I appreciate the support thanks for watching!

I have one xenofx chip, do i need to solder d0 to the motherboard or there is any other method like what i did on Bt to ground on the modchip

I'm assuming your installing the mod chip with the pinheader? Yes you will need to attach the D0 point. The one of the bottom side of the motherboard is easier to solder too. Also don't connect those pins 6,7 and 10 unless your Xbox is v1-1.5. Should of mentioned that earlier.

Best to just search eBay or " buy and sell" sections in niche forums modchips with lcd support pop up every now and again. But the seller usually knows what they have and the difficulty of obtaining it. So expect to pay alot for it. You could also get lucky and find one in an Xbox you pick up locally. You never Know. I know there was someone creating a new modchip but I'm not sure if he is even still working on it. Ilhe called it x-blast I believe

You don't need any modchip to flash the TSOP on v1-1.5 xbox's. Just need to softmod then bridge a few points,then flash

@@michaeldunn5788 that would fix it. Iv never botched a TSOP flash before, but I'd assume after installing a modchip and getting it to boot into Hexen or autoinstaller that you could theoretically remove the modchip and attempt another flash of the correct bios.

Iv never owned a x changer, from. What I can gather it should have its own "OS" so when you turn on the Xbox it should go to a screen then you need to enable flash over http. Then just connect it to your network figure out what it's ip address is then type that into a web browser, then you should be able to seleoyour bios file on your computer, and flash it.

That number indicates a partition mode, the one with "137" F: gets 137gb G:gets the rest. The one with no number F: gets all.

i have an Xecuter and i do the short power push but the chip wont turn on. Ive always been able to play burnt CDs like GTA, but now i can only play Legit and bought games!

You need hexen it auto installer deluxe burned on a disc and you be ot directly into those and you can flash the bios from there.

Thanks a bunch! I just typed that into Google images and found one a little ways down. It's not in English though. Be sure and what my how to install a modchip video that and the diagram should be enough. Installs are all pretty much the same. You can also watch how to install a HD activity light as it also uses that for the little switch panel.

The alladdin 4064 supports an lcd. But the 4032's are still around.

I know they went by that name early on. If you have a 4064 or a modchip that supports the Lcd the pins should all have labels. I believe the 4064 also had a built in pot for the contrast. The 4032's look barren in comparison

@@LenoxFilms it doesn't have the pot. Also the picture is dark if it has a Lattice LC4064V chip then it supports the Lcd. I'm thinking it's just the xt plus 2 (4032). I can't make videos on specific modchips that I don't have. But the Lcd install for all of them is the same. My how to install a chip via pinheader would show you how to install this chip. The only install I haven't shown is the quick solder method. Which I could make a video about.

People largely belive the executer 3 to be the best largely based on the add on. Iv personally never owned one and would love to but I can't justify the price. Readily available the best chip is the open xenium.

@@pr0ph3tz really just depends on what you want I only say an open xenium is best because it has the ability to support an lcd if your in to that also has its own OS. But if your just looking for a chip to load a custom bios then really any chip is just fine.
