Lots of critics say Margot Robbies Sharon Tate was underused and sort of unnecessary. They just didn’t get it and this scene was a great example of why she was important. She was just so young happy and filled with the joy of life. This was in contrast to Rick who was down and feeling washed up. The whole feel of this scene as she danced through the Playboy Club was just one of those great joyous movie scenes that Tarantino loves to do!

For anyone that does enough reading and just knows pop culture would know full well that her purpose in the story was completely warranted as she was the driving force leading to the climax of the film and representative of the lingering optimism, carefree, and hippy culture that came to a very horrific crash on the night of her murders.

yep. I was 15 in 1969, but I don't remember this song. maybe it didn't get any airplay in Michigan where i'm from. but I checked into it and I do remember the song "medicine man" by the same group (Buchanan brothers) although I have to admit I didn't know who did it at the time. it was just on the radio. AM I believe at the time.

I remember seeing first time Marcellus Wallis talking to Butch in the restaurant as Al Green's "let's stay together" played hauntingly in the backround. What a clsssic movie scene! I vaguely remember this song, from back then. Not my type of song - but in this scene, it's GREAT! How does Tarantino do this, time after time? Songs I would never listen to twice suddenly become part of my play list! And McQueen - he really wanted to star in Grand Prix, or have his movie come out first. He was pissed at James Garner, and that movie. He lived right above Garner, and was caught peeing down on Jim's balcony! And wow, this guy does a great impression of McQueen.

The tears that you're starting to cry are no good 'Cause you know I loved you Much better than anybody would And it was understood That I wouldn't be Staying around a long time You knew that someday I'd wake up, baby And I'd find somebody Further down the line I'm the son of a loving man My daddy told me Get you all the loving you can And I can 'cause I, I'm the son I'm the son, son, I'm the son, son I'm the son, son, son of a loving man My daddy before me told me That his daddy before him told him Never wait around and never settle down 'Cause there are too many women Who will hold on tight to a Loving man who will come along And treat them right but you Got to leave with the morning light I'm the son of a loving man My daddy told me Get you all the loving you can And I can 'cause I, I'm the son I'm the son, son, I'm the son, son I'm the son, son, son of a loving man Na na na na, na na na na na na Na na na na, na na na na na na Na na na na, na na na So don't get upset 'Cause I'm going away Goodbye's the one word That I'll never say 'cause You know that I'm Coming back again sometime 'Cause I, I'm the son I'm the son, son, I'm the son, son I'm the son, son, son of a loving man I'm the son of a loving man My daddy told me Get you all the loving you can Get it I'm the son of a loving man My daddy told me Get you all the loving you can I'm the son of a loving man My daddy told me Get you all the loving you can
