I was fortunate enough to see Tom many times over his career, but my last time was at the Hollywood Bowl, which was also his last show. He was so happy and humbled that night and that is what I hold in my heart when I think of him. What an amazing musician - I sure miss his genius!

Rock, rock and roll, blues, some country, pop............GENIUS and the Breakers.......Proud to say his boyhood home is 10 minutes away from me now............I'm a musician, but this man is a huge gift of talent and all the emotions of music. I commented on the tribute to a lovely name but this is one of the longest and most jazz-oriented songs they did.Actually when I listen to it again, it's unclassifiable. Just brilliant. I've got the Live Anthology and I'm glad they just let loose on this track. Utterly brilliant. Tom Petty once said his band was bigger than the sum of its parts, and that is absolutely true ... and then you listen to the brilliant contributions of each element and it's heaven. Tx to you all.

It was so cool when he sang this song at a concert several years ago; he said it was not yet recorded at that time. Don't know if he ever did. I like to think he wrote it because of the fan letter I sent to him back in 1982... LOL :)
