very concise and simple explanation on what plays comfortably, much better explanation than the others i've seen. yours is nice and practical while others spend large amounts of time dwelling on explanations that, while not technically incorrect, are very theoretical, misleading, and unnecessary. another great, well edited video

2:32 - That is so relatable.. I always end up moving my mouse towards my laptop on certain maps.. Literally always.. no matter how I try to play. On some other maps that never happens though.. And yet, I had no idea the map could be the one to blame.. Gee, I always learn something new from these videos. Good reason to keep your channel in my subs. =w=

OMFG I've always been referring to wide angle flow as linear flow! Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Another way of changing angular momentum, particularly in relateively long circle jump patterns, can be found in Feint - Vagrant [Still Alive] The way they did it is by using a very sharp angle(not a complete 180 but almost) before switching the direction of angular momentum. It feels very impactful yet remains subtle, and emphasises the patterns. It goes to show how little details make a big difference too.

4:15 thats a monstrata map right? I see that from 10 miles away xd

who can't recognize a monstrata map instantly, they all play the same.

I beg to differ, whilst most Monstrata maps are pp farm trash that is the same as the last, Monstrata can create some very unique and well made maps. But unfortunately he chooses not to a lot of the time.

"Even though nobody shares the same idea what makes movement natural" You explained it in your own video. Your hand accelerates to the opposite direction when you're stopping to hit a circle. That said, I don't understand - am I the only person who finds jumping literally the same pattern 3-5 times harder than different stuff? Skystar's Ame to Asphalt back and forths already feel hard and flower dance stacked back and forths feel like hell to me.
@osuology8 жыл бұрын
Different types of flow are easier to play for certain people than others. This is why a map from a different person is different from other maps because it doesn't play the same way. You might find back and forths very hard compared to low angle jumps, versus my opinion, which is the exact opposite.
@ariankagrand44677 жыл бұрын
from my understanding, flow is basically how comfortable you are in playing a beatmap.

Hey guys I have question. What happened to you at 2:30 . It is happening to me everty single time I play ( it is worse at longer maps ). I have to readjust my mouse at every single break or even in play (during sliders, some slow parts etc. ) when there are no breaks. Am I the only one this is happening to? I am getting pretty mad when I miss almost at the end of the map because of my mouse doesn't fit properly into my hand :/ If you guys have any tips, I would apreciate it ^.^
@Attewir8 жыл бұрын
Man can you make a map that is like the opposite of very well flowing, but still maintain some kind of sense so it's not completely random? Like the hardest to read map that doesn't break rules, I need that in my life (or a link to one that already exists, that would be nice too :D)
@pishifat8 жыл бұрын
older maps are pretty good examples of that

if you will ever open up to more opinionated informitive videos(like when and how to overmap or undermap for example), i got a few subjects you can talk about. obviously finish with the basics first, but once thats done there are more then enough topics that you can edjucate on generally and then give your way of doing it. if thats a thing you're willing to try.
@fkeyzuwu8 жыл бұрын
sorry if thats a bit messy but basically still tutorial videos but on topics that are not completly agreed on, that you can show different opinions of people.
@pishifat8 жыл бұрын
overmapping seems like a good topic already. what else do you have in mind?
@fkeyzuwu8 жыл бұрын
slider art slider velocity changes. not sure if it includes on gimmicks since slider velocity has a strong connection with song and sound intensity. you can include obsurd use of slider velocity changes in gimmicks, but a seperate video on more "justified" slider velocity changes readablilty, includes stacking and expectations map theme if thats possible somehow.i mean it sort of in the style of the map, like what do you want to do with the map and make it look "complete" in the sense of everything looks, sounds, and fits well together. cant really explain it too well, its just the overall feel of the map that makes it feel like a good map. consistentcy thats a few i just thought of right now, if have more ill pm u ingame or something

Honestly, am I the only one who wouldn't be able to hit repeated jumps if my life depended on it? It's just impossible to me! It might be a reading issue rather than a flow issue though...
@Thev1ros6668 жыл бұрын
I think it's harder with tablet than mouse to hit them. I've played both and patterns like stars and the back and forth jumps in Ame to asphalt seem easier with tablet. But back and forth jumps in the same position like in Airman are harder.
@hansijawns8 жыл бұрын
Seanald the funny thing is, I'm playing mouse only. Thinking about it, that might also be the reason...
@katl88258 жыл бұрын
for me it's a focus issue, and I tend to tap slower and slower as the jumps are repeated :( (-tablet player)
