ULTIMATE WARRIOR 1959-2014 Warrior passed away yesterday, collapsed walking to his car (probable heart attack). So sad to hear, shocking, 2 days after the HoF. WrestleMania VI is my favourite Warrior moment and childhood memory of mine. I remember hoping Warrior would win but didn't think anyone could beat Hogan. When he did, pumping his arms in the Skydome, it was a dream come true, thinking now it's really Warrior's time. It makes me sad to think 2 of the 3 big icons of the Hulkamania Era are gone (Hogan, Savage, Warrior). It's not consolation but I'm glad he finally righted how he will be remembered, burying the hatchet with Vince and took his rightful place into the Hall of Fame. RIP Warrior

I know this episode is years old, but the Marty sell is utterly amazing. If you look closely, the ring mat is elevated off the floor a considerable amount for visibility. Instead of the railing coming to waist height, it only comes up to about thigh height to the wrestlers. It would be very easy to tumble forward if you were blind and walked into it. Normally this would look stupid, but since the area is elevated, it makes perfect sense. Awesome!

49:47 No......that was Heenan being a master of the microphone. I would bet he did that on purpose. Heenan was amazing. Still under-rated. He made sooooo many guys look soooooo good or bad both as a manager or an announcer. My favorite spot of any wrestling program was when Heenan got to talk. And the first 10 seconds of that promo is a solid example of why.

1:48:43 I am a little confused as to why you would think that Hogan wasn't supposed to grab the belt to give to Warrior. Warrior is initially given both belts but only takes the IC belt. The world title is then brought back to the timekeeper's area or whatever. This was obviously preplanned, that Hogan would personally hand over the title to Warrior. Unless you are saying that Hogan changed the end before the start of the match. However, Hogan giving him the belt is the right way to do things in my opinion. Unlike WM4, which Hogan basically tried to steal the show from Savage.

Hogan handing the belt to Warrior while clearly selfish on the part of Hogan, to me is one of the most memorable and iconic moments in wrestling history. The 2 biggest faces in wrestling, both went into the match as faces, and there was no heel turn. Both go out as faces, with Hogan sealing it by handing him the belt, and raising his hand. Epic moment in wrestling history..

I have to disagree him handing the belt to Warrior was a passing of the torch moment, He gave him the belt, pointed to him, and left the ring, he didnt do a pose down or anything else he tried to patch the torch. Hogans Haters look for anything and everything to bag on him but this moment was great. Warrior failed with that torch but Hogan tried.

Shawn was getting over, you guys are correct. You have to remember at this time, we were tired of "old guys". Even when WWF brought in new talent, they were old guy new talent. In the early and mid 80s it wasn't as bad. But by 1990 these guys looked to old. Shawn was younger and was easier to get behind some fresh young talent. Bret was young as well. Vince made a mistake not getting more younger guys in as his 80s guys started looking like buff Dads.

Great video, a couple of quick notes: Before Warrior wakes up the ref he gives Hogan a simple back drop suplex that lays Hogan out and motionless in the center of the ring for 31 seconds! Then after the slowest 3 count in history Hogan barely kicks out gives Warrior a slight jab that is enough to hold warrior down for a good 6 count! Worst series of moves in the match, and so ridiculous. Also I believe Warrior was in on the presenting of the belt by Hogan at the end. If you watch closely you see the ref hand Warrior both belts, but he only takes the IC. Off screen the ref hands the belt back down to the table, allowing Cunt Hogan to steal the spot light. One last note, didn't Warrior and Macho Man have a tile for title house event match the year before? I know I've seen it, so why did they claim this was a first at WMVI?

Joseph Lanza, To answer your question, allegedly what happens on house shows isnt canon to the televised product unless its actually mentioned on tv. For example: Kevin Owens losing the U.S. title to A.J. Styles at a house show. The WWE made note of it on the internet going into the next Smackdown Live.

58:20 from what I understand, the Road Warriors were negotiating with WWF around this time and part of their demands to join was that the Powers of Pain be split up and repackaged, hence the manager changes and eventual loss of face paint.

Warrior goes for the flying shoulder off of the ropes and Hogan sidesteps it while ramming Warrior into the canvas. I always liked that spot. Because Hogan could just sidestep it and it would have still worked. But for him to actually take Warrior's momentum and use it against him for his own offense better assists with telling the story in the match.

@@Gravydog316 - Andre could move and "wrestle" (it's not real by the way) when he was younger. The problem that he had was that he kept growing until he died. He put on a lot of weight and became almost immobile by the time the WWF was a mainstream phenomenon. Andre in the 1970s sold more tickets and had more star power than Big Show could have done if he had a 100 year career. Andre was a special attraction who made even people like Hogan look small (not just his height, but his giant proportions), Big Show was a big guy in an era that had Undertaker, Kane, Nash, Sid, Ron Reis, Kurgan, etc and he was just barely taller than them and didn't have the proportions (or the charisma and aura) that Andre had. Honestly, people will still remember Andre in 50 years from now, and that includes a huge amount of non wrestling fans. Even a lot of wrestling fans will forget Big Show in 10 years.
