If you’ve ever wanted to know how to rig one of the most versatile rigs in bass fishing, here you go! The Texas rig really shines in cover but you can use it in any situation. It also works coast to coast and north to south!

thanks for the idea of using the bobber stopper. Sure will be better than using a toothpick. I am trying to get back into fishing now that I am semi retired. These videos are really helping. Thank you Ott

Another hack I use with this rig I use a small bead that fits inside weight and it creates a click since bobber stop is not flush. Key is to get small enough glass bead.

Thanks for those great tips!!!👊🏻 Thanks for reminding us to wet the line before putting that bobber stopper on and sliding it up. Never thought about it to you mentioned it.👍🏻 Stay Safe & God Bless!!!!

I think it's important to work a slightly larger hole in the bait where the hook point goes through. This allows the bait to move away from the hook point and become exposed more and easier which increases your hook-up percentage/ratio.

Great advice, I always push the bobber stopper tight, I do always cover the eyelid though, but Definitely need to work on hooking the bait better, to get more bites, thx ott

Ott, I'm going to start using the vmc bobber stop and see if I have better results that way. Can you show a close up video showing how you hold your fingers when you tie the uni knot? Happy Thanksgiving to all your family and friends. 🐟🦃🙏

I've always used a palomar knot for flourocarbon, why do you prefer the uni knot? I'm always looking for suggestions
@OttDeFoeFishing2 жыл бұрын
I’ve had better results with it. Less breaking on the hook set for me.
@warrenraye90102 жыл бұрын
@@OttDeFoeFishing I'll try it out myself. Thanks for the advice. I did break off a few times this year ,I'm usually meticulous about my knots. Losing a 4 plus in a tournament was the worst lol

How about adding a small drop shot hook about a foot above Texas rig with small wacky worm
@OttDeFoeFishing2 жыл бұрын
You can do that! Twice the chances!
@mathewsarrowslinger27872 жыл бұрын
Well… I typically rig my soft plastic the way you said I don’t want to do it. I do everything else other than the knot exactly the same. Guess I will have to play with that. I always feel like my bait has too much stretch or tension and the hook pops out too easy. Ugh

Ott I have gave myself a migraine trying to figure out witch chatter bait you have been throwing!!! Is it the new mini max? I know this has nothing to do with Texas rigs but I am going crazy trying to figure it out.
@OttDeFoeFishing2 жыл бұрын
No. It’s the mini old one if it’s not a normal one.

What size weight would you use if you were night fishing plastics? Thanks and God Bless!
@OttDeFoeFishing2 жыл бұрын
Feather weight as in the feathers in my pillow because I would be sleeping!!! 😂. I used a 1/4 and 3/8 back when I night fished. 1/4 under 10’ 3/8 over.

Your line size preference ?
@OttDeFoeFishing2 жыл бұрын
Depends on cover but flipping is 20lb casting in open water usually 14.
