Bến Thành is known for being very expensive and they'll raise the prices if you don't speak Vietnamese. If you want to buy something for a decent price it's better to go to a smaller market outside of district one. Overall, downtown Sài Gòn is crazy expensive compared to the rest of the city because it's a tourist area. You can find much cheaper food and coffee in other districts

i just left ho chi minh a week ago (now i am in thailand). its one of my favourite citys ever. the traffic is crazy. dont forget to visit bui vien walking street to see the saigon nightlife. vietnamese way to party is different but i just love it. monkey island is also worth a visit, and the chu chi tunnels, to see some of the war history of the city.

I don’t get it. I mean I can’t see them ever making a deal with anyone. Surly they would be better of doubling the price and having a little haggle they would make more money at the end of the week instead the x20 and wait for someone dumb enough to buy it had the same in Cambodia. Thailand, Sri Lanka,Indonesia, india and Malaysia they have a good haggle with you and there realistic on what price they can sell it for. Strange

It's not great to come to Ho Chi Minh City and be so angry as a foreigner - typically the vietnamese will make around $100 to $150 USD per week for an office job - so, if spending $20 on a hat is too annoying for you, OR, if you're unwilling to negotiate a lower price - then there's not much left to say. Also, if you're just going to hang around Ben Thanh / District 1 - then, of course the locals will ask for a higher price because lets face it - you're a foreigner in their country. I love Vietnam and won't ever leave here. As per your profile - you bought a home at 23, got married at 25, and started a business at 27 - try to enjoy it :) I only stumbled onto your channel as, whilst i live here, I'm still curious to see what other foreigners think about the greatest country on earth and your video came up as a recent upload.

Please explain to me how making around $100 a week selling $1 hats for $20 maybe because no body is paying that maybe 1 a week but I’m refuse to be that mug.
