Pavia is proof positive that a team will play harder and elevate their game if they believe in the man under center that is leading the team. Most tend to think a teams success or lack thereof strictly reflects the talent level. Pavia demonstrates that attitude and team chemistry is just as important as ‘talent’ or recruiting rankings. We’ve all seen highly talented teams that can’t fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

Now that there are big conferences, if you don't have conference championship game, you will have same questions about who wins conferences as who gets into the playoffs. You will also have less information as to who deserves to get into playoffs. Cut out spring practices and extend summer practices and then portal and recruiting can be better accommodated. No one should be able to portal until the season is completely over. I think stricter NIL contracts will mostly take care of problems like "opt outs".

I believe in Venables but it’s becoming more and more apparent that he may be an elite DC, but not fully capable of fulfilling all the responsibilities of an elite HC. It’s a tough job and one of the key duties is assembling a great staff that believes the program is heading in the right direction. Venables is struggling mightily in that arena
