When I lived in Exeter, Ontario, I worked as a cook for a senior dining program( 2006-2009). They gave me a budget of 3.00 per person x 50 to purchase meat, juice( tomato) rolls, 2 sides and dessert. The senior paid 9.00 for their meal. I had to purchase meat for 2.00 per lb in order to stay in budget. I also had to buy coffee/cream. I made all my salad dressings from scratch, same with desserts. I shutter to think how much their budget is now and how much a senior has to pay. I don't eat meat and I HATED cooking it, but I did it. The senior thought that they could get a decent roast for 2.00lbs. LOL.

I love watching a wfpb shopping haul, I live in Ireland and the majority of vegan items available to you guys are not available to me except for the wfpb things which is why I find this type of haul useful, if you could force youself 😅😅 to do another one in the future I'd definitely appreciate it, I'm sure loads if us would so thanks a million for doing one even though you really didn't want to ! ❤❤, much love to you all xx

I have a love " hate" relationship with grocery hauls 😅. I love to see what people can find at their local stores and get ideias and get to know products and brands I don't usually buy, but it's very sad when they can find some amazing stuff my stores don't carry 😫. Costco is like that with a lot of stuff. My Costco doesn't carry the Better than Bouillon paste ( veggie base one), also the organic bag of frozen 3 berry blend, Banza pasta and many more items 😕. I am excited to see what you are able to find at your store!

Hello from Denmark and thank you for the inspiration, pardon my English. I've been plant based now for two months and have already lost 5 kilos (11pounds) -and it shows, yes! . I especially enjoy to see and hear what you can swap to whole food plant based in stead of processed foods. It's interesting to see what goes aroudn in other parts of the world in search of alternatives to what might or might not be available around my square of the map. Again, thank you.

I love grocery hauls but I also love to see the folks putting away the groceries or prepping them. Maybe next time show us more in store or market shots? It would also be fun to see Annie and Ephraim do the shopping solo, on a budget with a list. Ps please put the “it’s fine” design on a mug or something :)

I don't like food haul videos very much because if the KZbinr is from a different country, most are, then I don't have access to that food and it just adds to my food envy. I do occasionally watch them to see what other people eat & to gauge how expensive things here in Ireland are compared to elsewhere around the world. If it's a good haul by the pb & j channel, I'll definitely watch as you videos are just fun to watch. Let me now watch & see....😊

I live in the suburbs of NYC- we have Misfit Market which specializes in “saving “ foods that are either seconds or extra from eating establishments- all sorts of produce at great prices and here, they deliver to your house. Problem with going late to a Farmers Market is the selection has diminished- stuff like ginger, garlic, scallions and basil I stick in pots and grow - some come with the roots after all/ green onions are $2.00 here too. Crazy. I don’t hear you speak about organic- here, there’s a choice for almost all of it. Berries that are extra I freeze. I enjoyed your video and got a good chuckle out of the tees. I find you guys addictive- love the real feeling especially cranky teens lol
@pbwithjeremy
@pbwithjeremy 2 ай бұрын
We do aim for organic - we don't talk about it on the channel because people make so many excuses not to eat real food because of the perceived idea of how it can be too expensive (which you've shown to be resourceful in) - like most of the plant-based doctors would say - obviously organic is best, but it's better to eat the non-organic version than to not eat it at all.

Thanks for doing the food haul cuz I know you didn't really want to lol Groceries are ridiculously expensive here in the U.S. as well...buying "seconds" is a great idea and I think there are some companies here that deliver what you are referring to as "seconds" which I think I've seen called misfits and imperfect foods...have you tried cream of buckwheat for breakfast ? Loved the video...as I usually do! I so wish I had a Costco nearby...closest one is at least 50 miles away. I'm curious though...there is a different kitchen in the video. Are you in a differnt locale? Keep up the great content!

Random question Jeremy! You mentioned your kids eating from the hot lunch program at school.Do they stay on the vegetarian track when they do that or are there limited options for that? I’m just asking because I have a couple of teenagers at home and it’s a struggle for them when they are out and about.

This has been awesome! I’ve been so programmed to just shop at my local grocery stores, I forget about Costco and farmers markets. The fresh fruit that is eat now can be frozen too. The big bulk foods are a great savings too. (Just where to store them). Thanks so much!

If you can portion the bulk items into vaccum sealed bags it makes it easier to store them. I do that with oats, beans and brown rice ( those are the items I am able to find sometimes at my Costco) I use gallon size bags and vaccum seal them flat so they can be stored on top of each other or in "file style". Also they last longer stored this way. Hope this tip helps 😊

Love this video!!! Also Costco's pure vanilla extract isn't pure anymore. I shop at the Orillia ontario Costco and now its just vanilla extract. Maybe yours is different but something to watch for.

What makes you say it's not pure anymore? What's the difference?
@vanderlugt70

@aureliaglenn2220 a few clues I've found: 1. Was called "Pure Vanilla Extract", and now only "Vanilla Extract" 2. Ingredients list is the same, but now has Water as the first ingredient instead of Vanilla Bean Extract. 3. Was 5 Calories, now is 15 calories.

@@vanderlugt70 Maybe the labeling is different in Canada for that product. Also, though, seems like the vanilla extract in Costco in Canada may have been reformulated--doesn't necessarily mean that it's not pure, but the new formulation might be inferior to the previous one. (I wouldn't consider it impure unless some of the vanilla was being substituted with another substance to provide the "same" flavor. )
