I think all off roaders need to watch this series. It's because of great people like your dad that we have the sport we have now.. Thanks for sharing.

That's amazing that you got to see the mountain goats up so close. Very cool! Your Dad lived the good life! Four wheeling, ice racing and great family events that made such fond memories for your family. A rich legacy passed down and now shared with us in this series! Thank you so much for taking us along!

Your dad was true OG wheeler and a one of the pioneers of this stuff. I remember getting a flier on my jeep somewhere around 1997 or so for the Georgetown ice races, so I went. I was in awe of the studs and cheaters class. Great memories.

Thanks for sharing a more personal part of your lives. I think the hardest part of reliving those memories is when you look back and realize that was the last time we did something. My Dad has been gone for 24 years now and some things are like yesterday. That's what happens when God blessed you with a really great one. I hope to be the same.

What a great tribute from both of you about your dad. Iove hearing the audio of your dad talking. Have that from my grandpa. Like you, my dad introduced us to the outdoors. He worked us hard but taught us to play hard as well. Hunting, fishing, camping, ball type sports, water and snow skiing, motorcycles and my favorite horses, etc. My brothers weren't into the horses so it was just dad and I. My favorite times. So many things you say in this series reminds me of things about my father. Thank you for sharing this difficult time with us.

Wow, the memories. I learned to drive off road in my dad's 1971 FJ40. With his club, we did Holy Cross City in that FJ40. I have a lot of stories about that trip. Taught me to never put my thumbs inside the steering wheel! I am humbled and awed by your love of the sport, care for the trail and devotion to your father. I've done Wheeler Lake in my 2005 Jeep Liberty, The Old Goat, with open differentials. Wonderful. This whole series is simply a love song. Thanks ever so much. Karl and The Old Goat.

Colt, your dad has much to be proud of! Every dad who cares desires for his son to grow up to be a good man and your dad's desire has clearly been achieved in you!!! Thank you for this series. It has, numerous times, caused me to remember all of my own dad's greatness and make me realize again and again how lucky I was to have him. We lost him in 2009, and I would gladly give just about anything to get just 1 more cup of coffee with him.

A great series. Appreciate the history lesson and the wonderful square body footage. Your s10 makes the trail look easy, and by the drone footage its not, especially the loose rocks and steep climbs. Our family camped together driving across America visiting National Parks. Of course kids complain asking 'are we there yet' as adults realize how impossible a long vacation is today due the time and expense. Thanks for sharing your memories. This series takes a travel down memory lane for me, after a recent death thinking about the past has been difficult. Thank You.

Maybe an old Jeep ice racer... maybe a trail rig ... ???

In 2022 my wife and I took my JK up Wheeler Lake. We were about 3/4ths of the way up and I lost focus for a second and plowed my driver front tire into a huge rock. I broke my track bar at the heim and sheared off the track bar mount. We were alone, but found a ride back to our air bnb and had a friend help me limp the Jeep out with criss crossed ratchet straps. That was quite the adventure, thanks for sharing your story!

You and the s10 made that look like a cake walk! A couple years ago I did it in a 21 chevy Colorado bison on 33" tires. It was not a cake walk for me. It was a little early for doing this trail and there was snow on that last little rock climb as well as up top. My back end slid over into rocks on the right and put some nice dents and scratches in my rear panel. Then on the way back down I didnt see a drop on the passenger side and bent my rock slider which dented the body just under the passenger front door. Such a good trail. It's been awesome watching this series. I would definitely buy one of those jackets with your logo on it.
