​@@amadei2 and yet it is better than laptop because a laptop battery can go bad and these days the battery is locked inside which you need unique tools or service to change the recharge battery. Unless their updated laptop have a opening to remove tje battery with ease.

@@EnchantedSmellyWolf changing batteries in most laptop take less then 5 minutes top. It's often made to be easy to remove, not sure what you are talking about. "Special tool" , you mean different screen driver bit ? Just buy a kit for 20$ mate

I'm looking at the M18 to replace my 17" Aorus X9, but that QHD+ 165Hz screen, especially at just 300 nits brightness, is weak compared to the competition. Are there any plans to offer at least a QHD+ 240Hz screen to compete with the Razor Blade 18 or the ASUS SCAR 18, both using QHD+ 240Hz screens with 500+ nits brightness?

I already have my second top Alienware gaming laptop with max display and am waiting for rtx 4090 max power on 18 display laptop. I hope that Alienware will not disappoint me this time too. I would not like to change my allegiance to MSI Titan because of the lag in power. I'm waiting for a high-quality screen and the most powerful rtx 4090 video card. I believe in you!

MSI Titan has no G-Sync or Advanced optimus as MSI refuse to pay the bios unlock fee even on their top of the range laptops. Not worth it. Plus, the screen on the GT77 is terrible for gaming, lots of ghosting. If you don't care about g-sync and want a GT77 make sure you can find one with the 1440P screen instead, as the 4K screen is terrible for anything other than watching HDR videos.

I'm waiting for my M-18. The only thing is I ordered a week too early. When I ordered, the 4080 was the biggest GPU at that time. Late last week, when checking my order, I decided to check out the specks on the M-18 again (for some reason that I don't know why) and saw that I now could have gotten the 4090 GPU and 64 GB ram and the 9 TB of Hard drive instead of having to upgrade them my self. I am not worried, as I will add the RAM once I see how I like how it runs, and for my primary use (Gaming of cores), the 4080 will do everything for me that I can see on the market for some time. This will be my 4 Alienware laptops in 15 years. The one I have now is 6 years old and working fine, but I need more power for the new games. This is the 17M with the 1060 GPU, so I am looking at a significant boost to my gaming.

You say "latest and greatest tech", and that's always been the reason to get AW, but you've missed the most tangible part of the laptop: the display. TV and film is graded much darker than it was pre-2020, and standard IPS with a fullscreen backlight does not cut it anymore. Some shows have scenes that are basically invisible on IPS, and I end up having to watch entertainment on my tiny phone screen sometimes rather than my M15. Games can't be played in HDR on these panels. Creatives can't have confidence in how their edited films will look. For the price tag and the prestige claims, we need the option of OLED/MiniLED etc.: something with per-pixel lighting or at least plenty of dimming zones

The only bad thing is that none of the laptops coming out are 4K only the MSI so I bought the MSI because it's the only one that has 4K and it's actually the most powerful laptop unless you can prove otherwise.

Not a single USB 4 port, STILL, with 7000 series AMD (ridiculous) when it's native to the chipset, and no HDR screen options means it's 100% no go. Alienware keep regressing with their options. The M18 IS interesting, but the screen for a 7 grand laptop (in Australia) being 300 nits is also an 100% deal killer. The AMD option once again doesn't have USB 4 but I would have spring for the Intel option with 64GB ram, a 4TB drive, 4090 and 13980HX if the screen was up to par. But it's not. Sorry! My Alienware M17 R4 was still the overall best laptop I ever owned from Alienware and overall really, at the time.

Extremely disappointed with the regressive lineup this year. All the manufacturers met and agreed this year to not offer premium monitor options so they could artificially boost battery life metrics and make the laptop seem more powerful than it really is since there's no 4k option to compare it to. They ALREADY offered a 4k 120hz last year on the x17. This year they're trying to convince you to want some GameBoy-resolution monitor at 480hz. Playing on these new AW monitors would be like those professional chess players who just play with their minds and no chess board to look at (you have to imagine the details in your head). Fine, forget the 4k 120hz... they don't even offer a 4k 60hz option. None of the manufacturers do this year but did last year (razer 18, raider ge78, aw 16 & 18); What a coincidence that they all woke up and independently came up with the idea to not offer 4k monitors this year.

Worst display's on the market; everyone else in the segment has MiniLED and/or OLED with at least 500-nits HDR QHD 240'z IPS options as a base option, but for some reason you guys keep using bland 300-nits panels with odd resolution/refresh rate combinations. It's extremely disappointing how far you all have fallen since Frank Azor's departure, whoever's calling the shots since has completely destroyed the brand and it's competitive advantages.
