7 years ago, I had a small dream. I wanted to create a life that I enjoy reading in books. As the world became more and more stressful, I thought I could create my own little world that would be my heaven on Earth. I did not realize how much hard work it would take to create that world, lots of tears and lots of working countless hours. But finally, my fantasy has been turned into real life I find that I am enjoying life the simple way of living enjoying it on my terms

I am glad for you that you did not get rid of your bread machine last summer when you said you were getting rid of much of your electrical appliances. Bread machines are not cheap to buy new and where I live a used bread machine would be so rare to find . Your bread turned out beautifully🫖☕🍔

I got the laundry washed and hung out to dry and made some banana bread today. Hubby had some of the leftover American Goulash for lunch and we finished off the Egg Roll in a bowl for dinner! And we took the dog on a nice long walk this morning. Today was beautiful! I also found a new flower growing. It is a spring bulb I have never seen before. It is called stripe Squill and is very dainty and pretty. The are in the middle of the area I want to make into my garden so after the bloom is gone I will dig them up and replant them elsewhere!
@rachaelsupadventures

@KentuckyNaNasHeart Yesterday when I was pulling out of the driveway for work I noticed a bunch of the Squill everywhere between the fence line and driveway. There is about a 10 foot wide area that is the length of our driveway with four trees and under them is the Squill, daffodils, and something else I have figured out yet. I also discovered a Elderberry bush/tree!

This was such a lovely way to start my day, Tessie. I loved how you said you walk in your mother's footsteps each day. We've been storing our carrots in water, too, but we've not added salt. Thanks for that tip for when the carrots are getting a bit older. My sister gave me a sourdough starter, so I used the discard to make English muffins yesterday. I should have added some raisins; that would have been super tasty. It's supposed to be in the 70s and sunny today; I'll be spending time in the garden. I hope you have good weather, too, and can do the same; I know you also love the outdoors. ☀❤

I love my bread machine, may it rest in peace. Hubby bought it for me when they were a new thing some 20+ years ago. My brother came up with one, and I get it later this week. Excited to say the least. I make your bread and roll mixes in pint quantities which will make about 4-6 rolls, perfect for one or two people. THANKS, Tessie!

I'm on the lookout for a new bread machine mine is on its last leg. But like you I will yard sale and secondhand store shop. Every month I make 2 loafs for our church communion. A very simple recipe 1 3/4 cups of warm water, one packet of yeast,4 cups of flour and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. In that order, set to the dough setting. then I take it out when the machine is done with it and knead, shape and stamp the bread. let it rise covered for 15 minutes and bake 400 degrees for 40 minutes. The machine saves me allot of arm muscle. lol.

When you took that loaf out of the oven, I couldn’t believe how perfect it looked. Like it should be on a cooking magazine cover. 😮 I always thought bread machines were only for cooking the bread, and many people comment that the result is disappointing. I would buy one of these to make my dough and then put it in the oven like you do. I make no knead artisan bread, because I am just not into all the fuss and fear about doing it right. 😂

Your house must smell, delicious when that bread is baking! My mother would never fold the clothing fabric over the clothesline, instead she would put the fabric next to the line and pin it up parallel to the clothesline so she would not get that "folded over the line" crease in the clothes! (One of her pet peeves!) We also only used plain clothespins, not the spring type, because they held tighter! Nothing ever fell off the line, even on the windy days! Bread looks delicious! God Bless!😊❤

Love you, your channel and content !! ❤ Saw you using an ULU ! I think there might have been some in foreign countries, but the natives in Alaska have been using them for thousands of years !! You csn actually buy a wooden bowl to use w/ it. Instead of chopping or cutting like you did w/ the carrots, you use a rocking motion to slice. Other hsnd pushes the carrot forward like a log inyo a saw ! 😊 It was/ is an all around knife for the natives. They can clean & fillet fish, process & butcher any animal, scrap hides & process produce for cooking. Trace the knife on a piece of cardboard cut out hole for handle. It should match the profile of the Ulu blade. Tske it with you on Thifty Thursday. Look for a wooden bowl , rock the cutout along the bottom of the bowl. ( should be fairly shallow) If the curvature matches, it makes cutting even easier on the wrist then take the knife and scrap the contents from bowl to container. If you find another Ulu & a bowl, you could leave it in your Herb Cabin ! It doesn' t tear herbs, etc. I have multiples, but I live in Alaska too.😊❤😅🎉

I found a rocker-knife item like yours at an estate sale yesterday for a quarter. It says 'Samson'. Yours looks pretty sharp though, and mine might need sharpened? I wasn't for sure what it was? I told my husband I thought it was for nuts. Lol. I stored pre-cut carrots in salt in the fridge for lunch boxes too! The kids in my daughter's class believed we had some sorta magically-delicious carrots. And they'd ask to share them! They taste sweeter when you store them like this! And juicier. It's a great tip!! I'd like to make the zote dish soap too. Fun times. And I need to get practicing with the bread machine. I wish I had time to make cinnamon rolls for this weekend. I was told where to pick them up but I was spoiled with homemade and am usually disappointed in what is available to buy.

Did you choose to remove the raised beds to make more food growing space or for the look? I have grown in raised bed gardens for 7 years and I am not sure if I would benefit from changing up my planting method. They need amending every year as do in ground gardens, so I just was wondering what made you pull the trigger and get rid of your raised bed system.

That's a good question I removed them for many reasons one of them was I think that I get better yields without them . I have to get topsoil to fill them the whole way to the top or some kind of mushroom soil and that's an added expense another reason is I don't like the look of them for what I am looking for as far as my gardening goals. I have a very large garden so it's not that I don't have any room and also I think that they need more nutrients when they're in the raised garden beds
