Wow! Huss and Dalton sounds like what a beautiful nestled fireplace in a cozy up-scale cabin would sing if it could. Amazing sound! So warm!

This is SPECIAL!! Thank you for having a piece on makers you don't carry!! Santa Cruz totally rocks. Richard Hover generously generously generously gave me a 3 hour factory tour ~ 1996. God bless Santa Cruz guitars. H&D too!!! Love 'n Light, Sean

Omg. Both were breathtaking. And what a perfect demo. Loved what you played.

Cool video guys! Enjoyed hearing you guys talk about these two different small builders who haven’t been featured on your channel before. I’m a huge, huge fan of the small bench builders

Both stellar guitars. Being from Virginia I’ve known about H&D for a long while but I must say that Santa Cruz sounds fantastic!

Smell it. I have a 1998 Taylor 710 cedar top and it's still blasts me in the face with that wood aroma every time I open the case.

I know exactly what you mean. I have a 1999 Taylor 714ce with cedar over rosewood. The smell is still amazing every time I open the case. I also have a 914ce, a 712ce Sitka over grafted walnut and a 322e 12/fret. The 714ce sounds better and smells better than any of them. I also have a Santa Cruz Style 1 12 fret that I love. But the 714ce is my favorite.

I have a 1996 714 and I get same sweet aroma. Cool to share this early Taylor phenomenon. Something about those early Taylor’s. I can’t find its equal in a current model. But that’s me….

Hilarious! I was just telling my cousin about my cedar top 714ce from 2002. I told him it still smells like the first time I opened the case, every time I open it. I’m stoked I’m not the only one to have that scent Time Machine.

Thanks again for another excellent/cool video! I saw my fave guitarist (Pete Townshend) playing a Santa Cruz on his In The Attic show many years ago...was super impressed...beautiful guitar but super expensive! I have a question, Chris...why are you no longer playing that tune that you used to play on all of your demos?? Love it & always looked forward to hearing it! (Here at 16:35 & throughout this video, for example - 2018 Best Acoustic Guitars For $300 to $649.) (Sorry if you have already talked about this & I missed it. 😊)

Santa Cruz: great guitars and outfit. Huss and Dalton: great sounding guitars, but they don't have a good warranty or ought I say, they don't back up their warranty on new guitars.

H&D for me please! So lovely and do different. Thank you, Sean

Those two guitars sound absolutely beautiful. I could see someone selling their guitar because they no longer play. Not sure why someone would trade in a Santa Cruz or Huss and Dalton for one of the big three guitar manufacturers.

Torrefied Appalachian red spruce top on the H&D I believe.

I agree with this. I have a TD-M custom with torrified red spruce top and it looks just like this. They can call H&D and give them the SN and get all the details.

I had Santa Cruz Vintage Artist, couldn't get rid of it fast enough, terrible guitar. I have a Huss & Dalton TDM-Custom that's an exceptional guitar. I also have a Merrill C-18 that's other-worldly.

I should have known we could not get through a video without hearing about "Taylor" even though "Taylor" had nothing to do with it.!!
