I think it’s a smart and mature decision to stay at home more with Sherpa. My husband and I stopped our traveling due to health issues and got another dog and we are just content to stay at home and enjoy our space. We have a fenced in yard for our girl and we are enjoying it. Sherpa seems to be most content sleeping in his garden. I love seeing him enjoying his home so thoroughly. It’s all been worth it for sure. ❤️❤️❤️

I built a huge shed for the price of fasteners and the cement for the foundation. I found a building that was being renovated along my way to work. I spoke with the contractor who agreed to start a ‘recycle’ pile from what he was discarding and allowed me to pick it up as I could. I even found a retired mason who directed me to build forms but insisted to do the rest himself. He loved his craft. My shed was invaluable for storage and shop space.

The year is still young and it's so good to see how Sherpy and Dad are planning for the year. Even though Sherps probably won't be able to do the big adventures anymore, I'm pretty sure there are lots of little adventures waiting for you. Maybe the two boys will open their own restaurant? Day trips in good weather, to a beach or a stream for Sherpa occasionally, and we "old codgers" like shorter walks, and just listening to the bird songs around the yard, as Sherpa does. We will wait here while Jamie goes on a long walk -- he's the youngest!

Use your circumstance to your advantage, like when we were all in lockdown, learn how to get a veggie garden started, put some fruit trees in, get some chickens (Sherpa would love them), maybe borrow a grass muncher friend (pony, sheep or goat), plant some flower beds, build a shed yourself, put flooring in the attic for storage, try new recipes, do small day trips around Cornwall and share morning tea with Sherpa. I know you will keep busy and enjoy each day you have with Sherpie. Thank you for sharing everything you do with us.

Jamie, that sounds like a very practical general plan. Like Sherpa, due to the natural aging process and a physical impairment I've developed in my 50's, I can't walk as far or for as long as I once did. So, we make adjustments. Sherpa just loves his new home and huge yard, so that's where he's happiest, and that's all that matters. Staycations and some short day trips will suit him just fine! You and Sherps have not had a proper home in so so long (from what you have said before). I agree with you about spending more time at home. With Sherpa enjoying his garden. That is his happy place. Short stays at other places will be less stressful for him. I enjoy him relaxing on the green grass and the birds flying around. I think planting a vegetable garden is a wonderful idea because groceries have gotten expensive.

They look pretty decent. Don't know if they sell them in England. Might be worth looking into. But you would have to put them together. Maybe time to start a shed fund????? We've had so much rain lately it's lovely to see the sun today. My car was iced over this morning before work because it has been so wet, i couldn't open the doors!!! Hopefully Sherpa has enjoyed the weather today frosty but warmth from the sun. Delicious meals for you both. I'm sure plans will work out for you in time. I have a 16 year old Doxie lying on my feet this instant. . .while I watch Sherps walk patrol around his lawn. I’m old and acknowledge that I am, and cannot do what I could only 2-3 years ago-same as my Doxie, same as Sherps, but we’ll all get by. Our world may get a bit smaller, but it also gets a bit more manageable. And I’m just as certain that you will find some things for entertaining Sherps that will keep us all entertained.

All the dialogue between you and Sherpa like you really know how he's feeling and what he's saying. We all love Sherpa so much, like he's one of our own. But in reality he truly is only yours. Jamie, as handy as you are, wouldn't it be alot cheaper to build the outside building yourself? I love the idea of your concentrating on the house for the first year cuz really why buy a house with the perfect garden and then spend the entire year traveling?! PS would love to see some short local jaunts with you and Sherpy!!! LOL

I think the frame would have to be dug into the ground quite far because of the winds we get... Ill have a think 🤔

I know here (I am in the AZ desert and we get strong winds and the occasional microbirst) I had holes dug and filled with cement. Post bases are placed in the cement before it dries. Then the posts are attached to the base. Mine have remained for over 20 years now and survived the winds. I think the holes are probably 4 feet deep.

We love Sherpa so much that we just want to share in the reality of his day to day life, whatever that may be, on a wonder or in his beautiful garden and home, we love it! Jaime we love you for taking such great care of Sherpa! That is the priority. I think we all will understand getting older and what limitations come with that. I know that's where I am so I get it. The quality of life is important and so if Sherpa can't travel as much, so be it. I don't want to see him being pushed to do something just because he's a You tube star. I was worried about him last year when you traveled to London. It just seemed like it was too much for him. Traveling to the snow where all he has to do is step outside, that's fine but please no more long wonders... Love you both so much. Thank you for being there and giving us so much joy. You are my favorite channel!
