Of these 4 options, the Charles Schwab and Vanguard are clearly the better options. Better expense ratios and long-term performance. I would have to go with the Charles Schwab as the slightly better one. I think the Vanguard is just a little too diversified. Either way, dividends are definitely the way to go! Thanks for sharing.

Another solid video! I love dividend paying equities! I really upped my proportion of dividend stocks last year since I was trying to get more "value stocks" into my portfolio in preparation for "the great rotation." I am still 10+ years away from FIRE so I am back to investing for growth while other sectors are at a higher discount. It's really tempting to load up on dividend stocks for the cashflow, but I don't need it right now. I figure I'll pivot my portfolio to more dividend exposure in my last 4-5 years before retirement.

The problem I have with stocks or dividend paying stocks is, if your getting a 4% dividend but the stock goes down 20%, how much are you really making. Yes, long term the stock might recover, but I’m not comfortable risking my retirement. Currently, I have sold all my stocks and have invested in 2 year cds earning nearly 4% guaranteed. Just my take.

Yes! Love SCHD! Adding a little bit each week. Cannot remember if I've told this story on one of your videos but yes always watch out for high dividend yields. I almost invested in Century Link because they had a dividend yield of 15%. Something told me to look deeper. And I'm glad I did. Turns out they focused on things like land line phones which are almost obsolete these days and they could barely afford to pay any dividend. It was just a trap to get more investors

Love the breakdown guys. I've gradually built my finance and made my first $100k through investing, and with what I’ve learned investing, given enough time, solid investments have the potential to double the initial principal amount, but many investors are instead attracted to the lure of high yields in short periods of time despite the possibility of unattractive losses before even getting out. So the onus is on newbies to beware.
