But now he is not in his prime without the assistance of great dialogue writers he usually associates with... Still now he is on a epic movie Ponniyin Selvan - movie about Chola Kingdom in 10th century. The prince character that comes in the story became Raja Raja Cholan later in his life and built the Big Temple at Tanjore .... It has many great architectural wonders and Pisa tower is nothing compared to the might if this temple still standing straight after 1000 years still an active Shiva temple ... Wish Ponniyin Selvan becomes a great Indian move and an epic feather on the cap of Mr.MaNiRatnam. Night shots and short dialogues are his trademark techniques.

Watch Vaseegara song from Minnale movie it’s still ruling everyone’s playlist even now not only in Tamil but also in Hindi as Zara zara both versions are so beautiful and melodious🥰 The female character in this movie is the wife of Ajith kumar Edit: It was released 20 years ago😊

Spot on..gorgeous picturisation, song and composition. Hariaharan’s clear classical singing contrasted with Clinton’s Rahmanesque vocals… flute strings guitar, magic… even today. You can’t imagine this songs is nearly 3 decades old.

I don't understand Tamil, and close to some 10 years back I stumbled upon PachI Nirame while listening to 'Saathiya'- the Hindi version. That was the beginning of my love affair with Ratnam, Madhavan and Rahman's Tamil songs and films! Please react to Snehithane from Alaipayuthey too!

Tamil and Malayalam are very close languages... Speakers of both can understand much of the other... Malayalees can understand Tamil more than vice versa. 😀😎

Your talking about pods.. But in tamil nadu mud pods(mudhumakkal thazhi{sherch by this words in Google if you wanna find it}) were discovered in athichanallur and kodumanal which were date back to 2600 to 3000 years old. And no media is talking about this

What a beautiful song. The translation is decent but not perfect! " kaarkaalam " is rain bearing dark clouds of Monsoon- the translation said something else.

Madhavan was a TV actor and advertisement model before he comes into movies. And he also had a great debut to start with as like Aravindsamy of Roja/Thalapathy. Despite mobile ringtones, this was had so huge demand of cassettes and CDs, the last phase of taperecord and cassettes was this only. Had awesome experience those days.
