Cant wait till they add NPCs back into the game, love the idea of a walking dead style hotel with a collection of survivors, fighting other gangs of NPCs for reasources. Loved old project zomboid where you could hear a bunch if gunshots in the distance and thy slowly fade overtime

NPCs were announced as part of build 43 (the current build is 41.) build 42 will be a crafting overhaul, but they are being developed concurrently (for example, a majority of the framework for NPCs is done already), so the spacing between B42 and B43 won't be as bad as some of the other recent updates. I agree the pace of development seems to be crawling by at a snail's pace but I like the game so I can't criticize. Also let's not forget that NPCs were previously implemented but removed since they weren't in a satisfactory state.

The creepiest thing to do in this mod is to spawn like 20 of them in the middle of the horde, and listen to the dying screams. PTSD approved

Hey bro i know this is kind of late, but there's a game called survivalist: the invisible strain, it's basicaly a state of decay, you can switch betwen the survirvors in your comunity, and its a low spec game so chek it out.

The second one is legit. If you play MP online with a friend and they create a survivor in Survivalist 2, they instantly join your group. Save the game. Then, when you play offline, their character enters " Player NPC mode" and you can play offline with your friends characters.

Everyone infect, instant infection, extremely high survivor spawn rate on Raven Creek map. Very low starter zeds, manually spawning in survivors on the streets on the first few days, also random zombie speed and toughness, (weak zombies to try balance it out). Amazing experiencing in in the raven creek map

Before the big update I was trying to tune some sandbox options a lot like this. I was using it in conjunction with nocturnal zombies and right now it's set up so that you won't see many until the first night. It doesn't give you much time at all to find a safe place to stay but I balanced it out a bit by letting you start a couple hours earlier in the day and spawning a more appropriate amount of loot for a first day kind of scenario. It kinda reminds me of the original Night of The Living Dead as they saw a couple during the day before nightfall but things got progressively worse as the night went on.

Ah Impact's how you've captured exactly the vibe I'm aiming at, haha - I hope my sandbox settings are like yours - I tried this years ago and had great success on my own playthrough, but they didn't spawn as they had in my KZbin series, which was a let-down from that kind of NotLD image you described. Really interesting to watch them fortify buildings, ban together, and fight though as time goes on. I'm hoping that this will happen this time around again to meet that type of vision

ive been playing for a while, and I never knew this, if you place a sink, and then place a water barrel on the floor above it, you can get filtered water from the sink after the water shuts off. the filtered part is a bug I guess, but the rest is intentional. you need to right click the sink and choose the "plumb sink" option. Super useful

I think the best way to play with Super'b Survivors, is to, instead of have them in your group and babysit them while they do stupid stuff and eat all of your foodstocks, is to be a lone wolf and use them as a late game menace, to try and raid you from time to time or defend their houses from looters (including you) Also, nolan is an awesome modder!

I'm thinking of doing something where I play to their behaviors, like have them all cut wood like it's Age of Empires and it's our own village or something. That way, I can use them to the best of their potential and make some sort of colony survival sim like Dwarf Fortress or something. Thoughts?

its great to set super high spawn set zombies to like none at start make them fast and deadly i had the most fun in pz with this and it adds more randomnes to the world like i played walking dead playthrough and there was a small store in muldraugh i took some food left next day i was passing by and somebody barricaded themself there and the next day it was surounded by walkers its great

glad to see this mod be updated so quickly. I love this game, and this mod. but it's pretty hard to get started with it. I do like that you sometimes, or used to start with your own wife or husband by default. don't know if that carried over or is only a chance now.

Dragon Den - Definitely agreed, really nice to see it updated fast! I believe there's an option in the settings for Super'b Survivors to add back in a spouse spawn, though I've not toggled it and kind of like starting out on my own. I think it's still in there, though!

This modder is great man! I mean, PZ should focus on NPCs again, why cars and animations are higher in the priority list? NPCs no matter how stupid they are, make really great moments, one time when I feel safe, suddenly a survivor appears running from a horde in the direction of my base, then I needed to move out, it add so many possibilities :)

Been playing the MOD since his 41 release, my only wish was that there was a window or something to where you could see all your "followers" and issue orders that way. Sometimes they wander off and you never see them again. Did they die? Did they get lost? Who knows.

It's really cool because you can make it to where the npc are cowardly like average people in the apocalypse and you can press 6 to spawn them and then use cheats to spawn zombies to kill them

I recommend that you start with some more mods and modify some of the options on superb survivors, because in this version where you started the mod, it had a lot of problems, a recent update came out that fixed some of the biggest issues as survivors quit their group when you leave the game, causing them to attack you when you return. Here are some mods that in my opinion is indispensable at this point in the game and that make all the difference: Superb Survivor (CREATED BY: nolanritchie) - The best mod for Project zomboid, add survivors, raiders, a more living world, if you try playing with this mod just remember to change the settings before start a new game, cause the npc came with infinity bullet on I like it off, and turn on Debug options, with this you can change the clothes, and loadouts from the survivors, controlling then, but this is just my preference. Unique Z (CREATED BY: Neutz) - Where there will be more zombie types distributed throughout the city, Soldiers, Cops, Firemen and some special types with a very low percentage to appear, making the apocalypse more real. More Pole Weapons (CREATED BY: Lactose the Intolerant) - I really love pole weapons and this is a must for me, and the weapons are not op. Make Bags & Sew Clothes v0.9 (41.x) (beta) (CREATED BY: Star and Добряк) - an unknown mod with great potential, overall I find it very cool, especially now with the ability to sew clothes. Magazine Spawning (CREATED BY: ThatGuyRandom (TGR)) - because there is no magazine spawn in this version from the game. (Build 41+) Crashed Cars Mod (CREATED BY: Snek) - add crashed cars in the streets, giving a more caotic look to the world.

I've been reading up a bit on pole weapons and Unique Z, though the other ones are totally new to me and I'm incredibly grateful you mentioned them. The debug mode survivors is going to be especially useful. I'm honestly thinking of turning this playthrough into a sort of colony management one, as it's something I'd never even considered before and might create interest. Thoughts? Hopefully I can keep the same save file.

Wish you'd stick with a series instead of starting several. This one has a lot of potential. I'd like to see what you do with a gang of survivors. Maybe you could do a "lazy" challenge run, where you're not allowed to do anything yourself. You have to use the survivors to gather food, barricade, kill the zombies, etc.

With this mod I wonder how much you actually have to micro manage to make npc's earn their keep. If you can, equip a squad of npcs and start raiding was my first thought. all the while the rest of the npc's forage and sure up defenses till we return. its like 7d2d meets state of decay I wish for this game.

Instead of grabbing the glass with your hands use the pick-up tab on the left .. that way you won't get cut.

Sorry I haven't yet! My survivors despawned when I logged back in, though I've been meaning to update you guys. I was a little bummed, though I started this one a tad early I suppose. I might need to stick to one-shot vids rather than series as the mod's development continues, though I'll def try to keep you guys updated. Til then, I'm hoping to show off some unusual ideas I've had with it!

I set the initial spawn multiplier to 0 in sandbox settings, so the pop should ramp up over time. I may go back over this in a future vid, as others have asked too - would this help?

Dude you need super survivors installed and then activate it B4 you activate SUBPAR SURVIVORS. Make sure both are up to date. NOW you have a extra menu in your OPTIONS section called SUPER SURVIVORS but it is needed to change aspects of the SUBPAR SURVIVORS. There is a debug option where you can switch and play as one of the recruited ones and kill them off or spawn a rando. The options are quite extensive. I had to scour quite a few forums to obtain this knowledge so i hope it finds you soon! P.S. Order them to ''return to base'' or ''relax'' while in base and they will go into auto mode eating and working and doing random s***

When I play the survivors don't attack just get bit then walk away

You should probably turn off survivors needing to eat, they eat all your food too fast

Haha, I'll keep it as a failsafe, though I'm hoping I can get them self-sustaining by farming ASAP. THanks for the suggestion though, as it'll likely come to that XD
